I'm curious why Billie played them for the longshot but they won't do it for Green Day. Is it because Mike & Tré don't want to? Is it because the albums weren't received as well from fans?

Because Billie wrote 37 songs that no one care about 😂

There are a number of songs on the trilogy that have been received well by the general fanbase. Let Yourself Go, Stay the Night, Stray Heart, Lazy Bones, X-Kid, Brutal Love.

Yeah I was kidding. It was a quote from Billie Joe. He said this before playing Fell For You in a Longshot show.
I like a lot of song in the Trilogy.

But 21CB tho... 🥺

It’s their peak and I wonder how much Butch Vig had to do with that... I want him to produce at least one other gd album.

Well Butch Vig seems to be responsible for Restless Heart Syndrome & Horseshoes and Handgrenades being on the album and those are amongst the best tracks of the album

Edits like this will never stop being entertaining as all hell.

Kinda reminds me of what someone did with Eminem's "Lose Yourself" but they just made most of the words "Mom's Spaghetti." 🤣

But to think I’ll likely never get to hear 21CB, Before the Lobotomy, Murder City, Static Age, Last Night On Earth, Viva La Gloria... live 😭  when I think of the Dookie and AI songs that have been played live to death

Fully agreed. But every single album has quite a few songs that never get played anymore. Even some of the tracks on Dookie and AI rarely if ever get played live anymore. And at least all of the songs on 21CB have been played live a few times and are watchable on youtube. Revolution Radio and the trilogy have a few songs that never saw a live performance. FOAM will likely have several tracks that will never see a live performance due to the lockdown.

And it's the same thing with a lot of their older albums Insomniac, Warning, Nimrod, Kerplunk, 39/Smooth.

Just randomly remembered that this exists lmao

Thought I'd share for anyone who hasn't had the pleasure of hearing it (make sure you don't turn it off before 1:20)

It was strongest in the beginning. It kind of fell apart as the song went on, but it's a valiant effort.

Well, it looks like someone was having a Green Day "Longview" moment. Spotted on an electrical box. This feels way too relatable. 🤣

On the RevRad Tour Mike said no to Billie a couple of times about playing something different

Really? Why? Do you have a source to him saying that?

I don’t remember which shows it was or which song it was Billie wanted to play but I remember it being discussed at the time. Maybe someone else remembers?

I miss Billie so bad that I'm watching this. God I'm desperate

And this popped up again in my recs and it's usually hard to find so I'll share it here also.  In case anyone hasn't heard this 2010 interview with NPR's Fresh Air with Terry Gross it's really amazing:

Thanks! I'll have to check it out. Don't know if I've heard that interview.

Anybody else here notice they took Warning off iTunes as a separate album? It still looks available under The Green Day Collection, but I don't know what happens if you would try to purchase it (I already own it on CD, so I'm not going to try).
