Are you sure it’s a good idea? If given the chance, Sam Bayer will make 8K detail shots of individual pores and his other hobby is zooming in super close on pimples. I’m a little worried how this would  turn out

Maybe he could be trained out of those bad habits. "The eyes, Sam. Keep it on the eyes." I'd go for 8k detail shots of Billie's eyes.

Remember American Edit by Dean Gray?

Well, I'm creating something like that.  Here's the songs I have made so far:

21 Whatshernames

East Basket Nowhere

Broken Holiday

21 Guns Up   (Linkin Park vocals on this one)

Oh Broken Love

Still Breathing in the End

Shesus of Sheburbia    (quiet possibly the most funny and disturbing thing I've ever heard, if I do say so myself) (the cringiest of cringe!)

I'll be releasing these on YouTube, in videos where I react to my own creation while unboxing the original albums.     I'm telling you, it's cringe beyond cringe.    Shesus is the funniest in my opinion, while Still Breathing in the End sounds the most like an insane person DIDN'T create it.

I'm terrible at remembering albums' birthdays, but Mike does so that's even better 😄

Same. I don't think I know a single album's birthday. #fakefan 😅

A sad and funny news.
https://www.facebook.com/CompleteHockeyNews/posts/3540927712700733

Bell Media is dropped TSN 1290 in Winnipeg, TSN 1040 in Vancouver and TSN 1150 in Hamilton this morning with little to no warning, moving away from all sports radio. Vancouver’s cut off mid-broadcast and immediately followed it up by playing Green Day’s Good Riddance (Time Of Your Life).

I just saw this on twitter. Horrible. They gave their employees 30 minutes to clear their belongings before implementing "security procedures". Makes me rethink their dedication to mental health with their hashtag "BellLetsTalk"...

The fact that they put Good Riddance right after they cut them off is like they did that on purpose. ''You have no job anymore guys, I hope you had the time of your life''
Seriously I hate Bell. Fuck them and fuck everything about them.

It's not the first time. It's happened in the US as well with a sports station based in Chicago. Employees found out via news outlets.

Oh they're making the Vancouver station a "stand up comedy" one.

That’s awful - and it seems all the more inconsiderate when we’re in the middle of a pandemic...

As horrible as it is, they did use the song in the manner in which Billie intended, a "fuck you", so at least they got that part correct. I'd really hate to be their PR/comms team right now or any employee for that matter.

Big Corp doesn't care about their employees feelings.

I worked for a private company back in 2013. Went to work that day (arrived at 8am), at 3pm I was told - a long with 6 others that our positions were eliminated. The best part, I had just been giving a raise 2 weeks before.

The corp doesn’t, but the law should limit their option to fire you on the spot.

Wow, do you guys not have employment legislation?  Not saying we’ve got it right, far from it, but you can’t do that to people!

The thing is it's not the first time. Bell cut off 210 employees last week out of nowhere without any warning.
And now this.
Seriously this company is a shame.

There's not really. There is non-discrimination laws for race/gender/health/disabilities, but for free enterprise (private corporations) they can hire/fire/eliminate.

I work for a state government agency now, and have certain clauses that protect me a little more (at least 30 days notice of termination) because I am a contracted employee (resign every 12 months), but the private sector is brutal.

Thought you’d left us, hope you are ok.  Same as usual, love in one thread, anxiety in another. Did you miss The Network? 😀

Today I was listening to the Foo Fighters' excellent studio live performance on SiriusXM and it made me think: As much as I like to complain about Green Day's lack of live material (live EPs/albums or DVDs) in recent years, in many ways we've actually been rather lucky. I say this because with Bullet In A Bible we got a truly great live album that properly incapsulates their live sound. Their performance was top notch, the mixing and mastering is excellent and though (rather annoyingly) slightly incomplete, the setlist is also fairly decent, all things considered. Yes, I'd probably give a kidney for another proper live album, recorded in a club or mid-sized venue and preferably featuring loads of deep cuts (either from the 90s or early 2000s or even later, such as the House Of Blues 2015 performance etc.), but it's still great to have absolutely stunning live recordings of songs like American Idiot, Jesus of Suburbia, Hitchin' A Ride, Holiday, Minority, Basket Case, Brain Stew etc.

The reason I also say we're lucky is because many otherwise great live bands have either no live album or some pro-produced material that is either badly mixed, recorded years after the band's peak or just features a very limited/odd selection of songs. The Foo Fighters are a great example of this. Staggeringly, they have no "normal" live album, just an acoustic live album from 2006, as well as two badly/weirdly mixed DVD performances from Hyde Park and Wembley Stadium, none of which fully incapsulate their live sound. Sure, those recordings are still a nice addition to their studio work, but anyone who has every seen the Foo Fighters live knows they'd deserve a proper live album.

The mix of the SiriusXM performance from around 5 days ago actually represents the kind of heavy sound/mix that truly makes them shine. Great mix aside, they also sound the best they have in years! But all I can think about while listening to it is: "wow, that sounds really great, so why the hell did they never release a proper live album?"

Of course, the other thing I can't help but thinking is "man, I reeeaaally miss live shows!". And I know a lot of you must be feeling similar.

So, here's to (hopefully) a better 2021 and let's all hope we can get into the pit again at some point ;)

(I couldn't enter to post yesterday, sorry)

I miss this pizza angel (and I just noticed his jeans are cuffed like twice and it’s really cute how small he is) 🥰

Sorry, I guess I’m feeling a little extra fangirly today and I love this photo ☺️

I agree we’re lucky with BIAB, I also like AAF, and am surprised the Foo’s don’t have a live album but I have never looked as I was very disappointed in the Foo’s when I saw them live.  They had a big dull bit in the middle (as many bands do) and Dave Grohl was not great, lots of shouting more than singing.

Just watched this again and remembered how much I love it. Really goes to show that he did give some good performances during FOAM and really seemed to be having a great time. And he looks like dessert here. I love his outfit.
