Little Boy Named Booze
Tiktok is a stupid app anyway. Too much controversies about this app.
Karol Oliveira
I'll link Green Day's tiktok account here for the folks, who like me, didn't know it even existed: Green Day tiktok account Good part is that you don't need to create an account to see the posts, thanks goodness!

Little Boy Named Booze
Like I said earlier I'm passing some time looking for old website with Wayback Machine. Here is Green Day website in 2000 during Warning: https://web.archive.org/web/20001018210716/http://greenday.com/ In 2002: https://web.archive.org/web/20021203001253/http://www.greenday.com/home.php3 In 2009: https://web.archive.org/web/20090331084157/http://www.greenday.com/splash/splash.php In 2012 just before the release of Uno: https://web.archive.org/web/20120705000435/http://greenday.com/ Sadly I can't find anything during the American Idiot era!! You can see there was already an Idiot Club during the Warning era way before AI Edit: Fun fact the first ever Idiot of the Month was a Jack Messinger...... in December 1997!

So much news and fan interaction then compared to now. The website now is basically just a merch store and social media interaction has declined drastically from what they once did.
Guest
I am just shocked that they were calling the fans Idiots seven years before American Idiot came out LOL.
Karol Oliveira
I think the Idiot Club exists since 94, but I could be wrong. Btw, one of the worst things GD did this last decade, imo, was to change the name to Idiot Nation. The other thing was to abandon the club/Nation entirely. There used to be a lot of cool stuff besides pre-sale codes, like the exclusive t-shirts (I never got one though), interviews, videos...
Beerjeezus
I’ve never been a member so it’s not that much of a deal to me, but I agree Idiot Club was a much better name. It was funny. Idiot Nation is just lame.
MarriedtoMikeDirnt
Someone on Reddit said that FOAMF Mike looks like someone’s middle aged aunt named Cathy, and I totally agree. (I also died laughing 🤣🤣🤣). I’d like to add crazy cat lady, soccer mom who keeps a flask in her purse at all times, and the one grandma that says stuff like “when I was your age, we kicked rocks for fun”. Grandma’s name is Doris though.
Slave To The Network
I joined the Idiot Club for a couple years and it switched over to Idiot Nation during that time. I remember thinking that was a stupid.
The Grohl
I joined Idiot Nation around the 99 Revolutions tour and it was so fucking lame. The board was awful, there was no more exclusive content, and the contests were...lame. I mean okay it's cool they had contests, but the prizes were kind of lame. (Maybe I'm just salty I never won those Uno, Dos, Tre picks) I can't believe they just abandoned it completely. With livestreams being the rage this would be a great time to start it up and give members some exclusive footage or just a deal on tickets.

With livestreams being the rage this would be a great time to start it up and give members some exclusive footage or just a deal on tickets. It seems like the reason they don’t give ticket deals through fan clubs anymore is because it is so hard to sell music that ticket access is now bundled with music sales and sold through the label’s affiliated merch store, taking it completely out of the hands of the band or management that can offer deals to fans. Without these bundles, FOAM would have sold half the copies that it did and still it didn’t sell much. (Also band run websites are kind of made redundant by social media apps now so they’ve just been replaced at much less cost and trouble)

Little Boy Named Booze
iHeartRadio ALTer EGO 2021 was very good! It's sad that Green Day wasn't there. Foo Fighters, Weezer, Muse and Blink gave an amazing performance. Even Black Keys, Billie Eilish and The Killers wasn't that bad! FULL SHOW bad quality tho:
