Weezer just dropped a new single today called Hero and the chorus goes “I walk alone, I walk alone”

Seriously guys? 🙄

And Green Day stole the line from Pinhead Gunpowder.

Hahaha.

It'd be awesome but I don't think Billie would ever do that.

Hope I'm wrong though

He'd say "all of them"

Nah, we know he has favourites, he’s said Letterbomb is a fav, and he said what his fav from Kerplunk was once but now I can’t remember which song it was, sure someone else will though, was it Christie Road?

I want to say Who Wrote Holden Caulfield for some reason. I think I remember him saying that.

In Awesome As F***, he said Who Wrote Holden Caulfield? was his favorite.

Billie's favorites:

Who Wrote, Holden Caulfield, Letterbomb and Jesus of Suburbia.     oh, and King for a Day.

He hates all the other songs he's written.

He didn’t even think twice and directly said Jesus of Suburbia in the Kevin and Bean show last year. I think it could be  the most special one for him like he describes really passionately its live experience between them and audience before so I think probably it’s always his favorite one to play live

One of his favorites is probably something from the new LP. That's usually a standard answer when asked in interviews after they've released a new album.

Billie always says that Letterbomb is his favorite song he's ever written. I don't know if that means it's his favorite to play. Seems like he prefers songs like JOS as favorite to play, though he does seem to love playing Letterbomb too. I'm sure for him there's a difference. Asking him what his favorite songs are is vague if you think about it that way. It would be better to ask "What are your favorite songs that you've written?" "What are your favorite songs to play live?" and "What are your favorite songs to listen to on a record?" I wonder how different the answers would be, if at all.

Billie did say 99 Rec was the best song he ever wrote (or something to that affect)

Looking at my copy of Foreverly (I was wondering who the band was)  and noticed that along with vocals and guitars, Billie plays pipe organ.     Wonder if Green Day will ever utilize his pipe organing skills.....

Pretty cool.

Now to figure out who Dan Rieser, Tim Luntzel, Charlie Burnham and Jonny Lam are.    Because they should definitely be in Green Day.

Rieser has played with multiple bands, including Marcy's Playground and has played with Norah Jones.

Luntzel - all these guys are session musicians.   Bright Eyes looks to be his highlight.

Burnham is apparently a well known violinist.

Lam is a session musician, don't recognize any of the albums or artists.

It would be cool if the band brought in more instruments for the next record. I enjoyed the little synth and piano stuff thrown into FOAM.

Just realized how massive Billie's voice has changed, especially between 2003 and 2009. Amazing, like two different people 😅

Yeah, I think it really changed  a lot after the AI era. I think his voice is more higher in the newer albums.

Definitely! I think you can hear it already in Bullet in a Bible, so even between American Idiot and Bullet in a Bible there is a significant change.

Father of All has gotten a lot of criticism for it's length, but looking through the band's entire discography, most of their songs are short.

Out of 170 studio songs, 26 are 4 minutes or longer.    Roughly 15% of Green Day songs.   And the 10 minute songs from American Idiot, once broken into their five parts, are about 2 minutes or less a piece.    Same thing with Forever Now and possibly Dirty Rotten Bastards.

It stared on Warning, with Misery being their first longer song.  Then with the concept albums, where they took the longer structure and did something magical.

AFTER THE CONCEPT ALBUMS:

Despite the Trilogy being so different, they still each had 2-3 longer tracks.     Same thing on Revolution Radio.  While it was closer to the concept albums, they kept it at 2-3 longer tunes as well.

Father of All.   The first Green Day album to not have a longer song in 23 years!

This old interview has popped up again, I don’t suppose it’s possible for the over voice to be removed by any of you techno whizzes? Seems like quite a good interview but I have no French.
