That Dude
Are there any fans of h20 (the band) here? They were a band making similar music to Green Day, but never got much attention. I discovered them through their music videos back in 2001-2002. "Role Model" was such an anthem, and still is. Diving into their history and music today. Lots of positive things from the lead singer. He's straight edge, founded an anti-bullying organization and is all about mental health. Way to go, punk rock! Side Note: The lead singer's net worth is estimated between 100,000 to 5 million. That's certainly an ESTIMATE, geeze! So while they aren't house hold names, they're paying the bills. That's good.
That Dude
So I'm listening to BANG BANG on Spotify and there are lyrics and facts about the song popping up. I knew some of the facts, but it's going into detail about the shooter he based the song on and it's interesting. But here's my discovery of the night. All these years I've never been able to under the lyrics. The booklet is wrong ("it's my private holy war") but Spotify actually nailed it. It's the closest thing I'v ever seen to being right. The actual lyric is this: It's my private MOVIE (HOLY WAR). WOW. Never heard the movie part until now. Awesome!

Listening now....Green Day didn't even come up when I typed BANG BANG into youtube, just a bunch of other songs with the same name. it's my private. Hol - E. Yeah! I've heard this song hundreds of times and cannot make this part out.

Lol. Of course Billie would probably skip that part just to infuriate me. He might do a medley of garbled lyrics about Medium Visitors and long lost Hlovpeve.

If you listen to their Howard Stern performance from Oct 2016 Billie clearly (to my ears) says "private movie" while the band is screaming "holy war" (video below should start at the bridge where this is sung)

pacejunkie punk
Movie makes sense because the line is “I want to be like the soldiers on the screen, it’s my private movie”

That Dude
Just played "Loss of Control" on guitar and it was so much fun! TRILOGY ROCKS!!!!! Uno, Dos and Tre are a Magnum Opus of the Inglorious Kind. They are the Father of All!
Slave To The Network
I definitely do not hear "movie." I always heard "on-ly."
Beerjeezus
I logged into Instagram after a while and I remembered the ariana grande/emo artists drama so I looked if it’s still going - apparently it is, but that means there’s enough people in their tweens/early teens who still like MCR and possibly also Green Day, which is surprisingly good news for their career I guess lol
That Dude
Listening to Green Day related bands and so far this is what I've come away with: Mr. T Experience, Pansy Division sound good. Jawbreaker and the Shrives sound great! If you come around.....
Slave To The Network
I'm watching a play-through of the Resident Evil 3 remake with the Game Grumps and there's a part where Jill Valentine (the main character) says "October 1st? No, it can't be." and I immediately thought "Yep, it's time to wake up Billie."

Not like I walk Alone is a Green Day brand too lol. So no artists can sing the words I walk alone since 2004.
Duhhan1023
https://www.altpress.com/news/mike-shinoda-favorite-linkin-park-song/ I wish Billie Joe would do something similar to this. Is there away how we can reach out to him? Haha
