Popular Post The Grohl
I've been wearing my Green Day beanie lately and today, the bus driver got super excited when he saw it. He asked if I was going to Hella Mega and everything. He said he was surprised to see someone so young know who they are. And then I realized he probably thought I was in high school...I am not But it was still cool to meet another fan. Usually my Green Day swag elicits eyerolls.
That Dude
My curiosity got the best (worst?) of me and I'm skimming through Gary Glitter's music. It's not good.
Duhhan1023
Today I went to see the 1975 at the O2 arena. Their opening act was beabadoobee (Billie and his sons follower her on Instagram and apparently her first purchased album was dookie). Her drummer was wearing a green day t shirt.

I've been wearing my GD studded belt everywhere and last week some random kid in a store came up to me and was like "what's green day?" I was a little surprised that the kid came up to me, hahaha, but I said, "Oh, kid, you have no idea. They're the best band in the world." The kid said they had never heard any GD songs. Skeptically, even though I hate invoking BOBD (I love the song but I'm so tired of people claiming to be GD fans when only knowing that one) I asked "not even boulevard or broken dreams?" The kid hadn't ever heard of them, and was so confused I really hope the kid looked up GD later.

I thought she may don’t know cause I’m sure there are too few people here still listen to them religiously or even care about what they’re up to or whatever so yeah lol
The Grohl
Yeah every time I talked about Green Day I usually get the "Oh they're still making music?" response and it's just baffling. Like is there some sort expiration date on artists? After a certain age you just assume they stop making music? Weird.

Same! Someone I just talked to said exactly this: "Wait, they're still putting out new content? After all these years? I thought they finished after American Idiot and just kept touring off their old fame." Smh. GD could most definitely "tour off their old fame" if they wanted to, but what rocks do people live under???

I associate the last decade with Good Charlotte, Sum 41, Blink, Simple Plan. I think everyone back in the days knew at least one song from this band In Italy nowadays it's very popular trap/rap music (I can't stand it sorry lol) or artists who came out from tv shows and stuff So maybe the majority of people just follow the trend or maybe has different taste of music. I'm still in love with the same bands when I was in middle school *dab*

It's weird also for me because I've never cared about trends but it basically works like that 🙁 In 2009 I knew an italian band because they partecipated to X-Factor Italy. That year this band was sooo popular as it was famous for this talent show. They didn't win but they made to the final. They're still playing nowadays but during these years it seems they've been forgotten by the majority of people. [Anyway, the bassist remembered me the last time I went to their concert 😂 he said something like "I saw you there and I told my self "I have to say hello to her" Fangirling] I'm sure Green Day will always have a huuuge audience, even if they're "not trending anymore". These are my random Green Day thoughts for today: Getting my first guitar pedal today. I wanted that Dookie Pedal but 200 dollars? For that price I would want Billie Joe to come with it. Maybe he could bring me my damn coffee while he's in town, the punk. I can't sound like Green Day or even Panicland. But at least my music has its own flavor, which I am proud of. Might share my soundcloud somewhere on here. Yeah Oh Yeah
Beerjeezus
The Makeout Party video from Echoplex that was posted in the fangirls thread has inspired me to watch more of that show and I have to say... that was so exciting!? They played so many new songs that slapped and that was just so fucking awesome. I wish they did the same for FOAM on the upcoming tour.

I don’t think we’ll ever see anything like the trilogy club tour again where they go out and play nothing but new songs. I think it terrified them and they’ve since retreated back into the protective space of their sure fire hits collection
