Guest
21 guns has never been one of my favourite song ever. I mean, I've always like it but up to a certain point. This month I'm feeling so emotional when I listen to it and I even managed to cry. It feels like the lyrics reassuring me I hope they will play it on tour. I will be sobbing the entire time. Guest
I just realized I was at a Green Day show exactly 3 years ago. Only 122 days until the next one!
Slave To The Network
I was listening to all my GD music on shuffle and getting a lot of Trilogy songs. I've always liked the Trilogy. Don't know why it gets so much dislike. But I realized something about it that I think contributes to how much I like it. Billie's voice sounds very unfiltered and it's really distinctive on those albums. Many songs have portions where it's just him singing and maybe a couple of instruments at most. It's just so nice to hear his pure, unfiltered singing voice. I think this is why I'm still having a hard time with the album versions of the FOAM songs so far. It just sounds so filtered and I don't get to hear his real voice. I really loved the live performances of the songs because they're not as filtered and I can actually enjoy his beautiful voice.

Every song on the trilogy has the filters on it there hasn’t been a GD album with unfiltered vocals since the 90’s But that’s good you enjoy the albums I’m not the hugest fan of the trilogy so nice to see a non bashing post on it
Popular Post That Dude
Wanted to share how thankful I am for GDA. I post almost no personal info, but life has been difficult. GDA has been a positive thing in my life and it's really the only comminity I feel a part of currently. Thank you, thank you, thank you. If only we could be as active all the time as when new stuff happens. It's a blast getting on here and seeing more than a few quotes. Oh Yeah Oh Yeah On 1/22/2014 at 8:33 AM, Guest said: So does anyone wonder how the loss of a testicle affected Tré's drumming and general contribution to the band? He's always had a very aggressive but conservative style. I think that the aggression is born out of his testicular inadequacy, and the the conservativeness comes from the lack of testosterone needed to challenge Billie to expand his playing style. Perhaps if it weren't for a simple unicycle accident, Tré might be one of the most exciting and groundbreaking drummers in world music, instead of a high-hats and fills in 4/4 man. Green Day could be pushing themselves to greater and greater heights. Who knows, Tré might even have had the balls (pun intended) to call out Billie before iHeart, thus making the Trilogy not a complete mass of shit. Moral of the story is: don't jump on a unicycle kids, it'll ruin your drumming, make your friends go to rehab, and turn your albums into flops. Having one does not effect your testosterone in a signifigant way. It feel a little weird walking at first, but after a year or so you get used to that.
Popular Post solongfromthestars
Just discovered some valuable art... a whole folder of Green Day "icons" from 2007. If anyone's ever wondered what being a Green Day fan between American Idiot and 21st Century Breakdown looked like, this is it. 3

Yeah, it's not everyone's favorite, but I really like it. And I guess what I meant by unfiltered is that it sounds really clean. Of course there are vocal filters on the albums, as that's just part of production, but the trilogy just seems to capture the best of Billie's voice and the closest it sounds to live as recent albums have been. At least to me. Sorry I wasn't good at articulating what I meant. It can be a little hard to describe something like that sometimes.
Redundantuserjinxboy
Alright here is my ranking of the albums: 1. American Idiot 2. Dookie (these two are interchangeable depending on how I'm feeling.) ---------------------------- 3. Nimrod 4. Insomniac 5. 21st Century Breakdown 6. RevRad 7. Kerplunk 8. Warning 9. Dos 10. Tre 11. Uno (tre and uno are pretty interchangeable for me too) 12. 1039 smooth. I think the absolute highest I see FOAMF going is above RevRad/below 21st at 6. And the lowest being behind warning above dos at 9.
