But flying over to the US just for it really isn't something I'd actually do, so please cOmE tO eUrOpE I don't know (and it doesn't regard me) your budget, but in 2018 I've flown twice to the US to see the Longshot, being lucky to find cheap prices and doing minimalist trips each time, with a meager salary and high prices of everything where I live, but I could manage it. If I hadn't tried to buy a ticket the first time, a first time where I felt totally crazy but did it all the same, I would have never known that it wasn't so expensive in regard to one normal year or even half of a year. If you ever do make the trip even once (which would make it damn special already), I strongly recommend you to come early to queue cause some local people in groups, always the same, are often occupying (not always fairly, but hey, they're locals... or should I say, even though they're locals) the first full row in small club gigs there, such as Longshot and Cover-ups. If you go at least once, give yourself the means to be middle in the first row. So the first place, cause I've got it once and it was most special. I've encountered shitty fans everywhere I've been to see Billie perform but honestly some of the locals who have access to most of the small club shows are also the ones who develop the most elaborated means to always steal the first row. I say steal because it's two persons waiting for twelve of them, that I've seen. Or literal enforced stealing thanks to number. Best would be to stick to another fan who would be as eager as you to keep your deserved first spot when you have it! Oakland is great, I really loved what I've seen there. It would not only be great to see for GD fans! It's different from Europe in general (although I'm fond of Europe and even only in France there is so much to see that I haven't) but I mean if you spend money and time for a Longshot show in Oakland, and then use the remaining to visit, even only in Oakland, it's worth it. It's different from a European country, interesting, and beautiful at the same time. I've had a glance of SF and Berkeley too but preferred Oakland.

I'm not really planning to do it in the nearest future (I can't get myself to actually do it, even though I technically could, but I can't bring myself to fly to the US for a couple days and planning for a lengthier trip is more difficult and complicated), but it's on my bucket list for sure. I'd love to visit the Bay Area and then maybe some more of California or maybe going up to Seattle would be cool too... ~ On an unrelated note, I have to say that I've thought about it and maybe I've been wrong the entire time with saying that lyrically FOAM is a step backwards from RevRad. In fact it actually makes sense if it's seen as a follow up to Love Is For Losers. If I was to make a smooth transition playlist, it would go somewhat like SN - SB - FN - BOTW - Soul Surrender - Chasing a Ghost - Kill Your Friends - Devil's Kind - FOAM. It's a character arc from "yay I'm making a progress in my life" to "lol everything it's a mess but anyway let's paaaaartayyyyy," but yeah I see how it actually makes sense and in fact isn't a sudden 180 degree turn.

I don't think either that it's a step backwards, I think you never go backward in life in general, not someone as bright and persevering as Billie anyways, and that when you reach a new level of self care, like he did between trilogy and revrad, at some point you may want to get a taste of what your past demons were, because the idea of having to avoid them completely at all cost may become too stressful and so counterproductive for your well-being. At some point it may be better to release some ballast (depending on the person). That's the best way I can explain it. And sometimes you're just going through different phases. In the lyrics, it's interesting because I do see common themes between revrad and Longshot, like the addiction (somewhere now, still breathing, forever now, the last time, chasing a ghost, soul surrender) and in the Longshot songs you can clearly see that he's got a lot of consciousness about it, "I've got a case of letting go", and also a lucid criticism of it "it ain't the same, ain't it a shame, here's to the painkillers". I think that when you're an addict type of person, you never really change that, and the struggle around it can help build yourself and also your art, as creating art can be a way to deal with it, and for Billie it probably is the case. (But it doesn't mean he's living an unhealthy life right now, no one can judge that in his place. From what can be seen of him now I think he looks extremely well and I'm happy about it)

I didn't really connect the introspective songs together with the party stuff, but I guess there's a link that's clearer than it seemed.

walking_c0ntradicti0n
I don't see a network dedicated thread other than threads relating to their concerts (if there is a general thread about them my bad) so I'm just gonna put this nonsense here for now I listened to the song Money Money 2020 last night/today for New Years and I remembered quite possibly the strangest association I have with this song For some reason when I hear this song it reminds me of the show Jimmy Neutron??????
Popular Post Slave To The Network
I spent New Years with my friends and we talked about a lot of stuff, including our tastes in people. None of them like Billie (their fucking loss), but I did get another good anecdote. This time, one of my friends said he looks like "a little gremlin". I actually thanked her because that's not one I've heard before and is actually pretty hilarious, if inaccurate. Just thought I'd share that here because it made me laugh.

But if you have a different idea of gremlin such as just generally cute and mischievous, then it can work. Because he is most definitely an adorable troublemaker. But also smokin' hot.

Oh I don't think it necessarily means "ugly" maybe a little mischievous and maybe sometimes a little gross. Just like he is. Somehow it's all adorable

My friend constantly teases me about Billie saying he has a big head, which fair, that's true. But she keeps going and going. When we saw them live she kept making comments like "I couldn't see the rest of the band because of Billie's big head." She only does it because she knows I think he's hot
Popular Post pouty bitch
A few days ago I was with my little cousin who always used to claim that he hates GD, and he was playing songs from his phone and I noticed he had a Dookie guitar pick in the back of his phone case. So I was like "why tf do you have that? I thought you didn't like GD" and he was like "oh I just found it somewhere" which is clearly not a justification for keeping a guitar pick of a band you supposedly don't even like in the back of your phone case for everyone to see lmao. So I got suspicious and kept asking him about it until he finally admitted that "GD have one good song" and just after he said that, Basket Case started playing on his phone and he started singing along to it! He's making progress lmao, I FEEL LIKE A PROUD PARENT 1 6
