RedundantIdiot
I've recently been watching random Rev Rad era videos from gigs and I've noticed that Billie messed up the lyrics to Still Breathing a few times. Here's some of the funny examples I found that made me laugh: Spoiler 2 1

pacejunkie punk
😂 I think I prefer these versions since it’s not my favorite live song. Much more entertaining

Jirachi
I remember when the album cover for RR was leaked, a looot of people disliked it, kinda myself included? I’m not a fan of the RR cover either and the masks freak me out too.
DeJennsitized
I grew to quite like the RevRad cover, but I love it when they use symbolism and creativity for album covers, so the Warning one is by far my least favourite. And I think with the RR cover they were going for that symbolism, but it came across as a bit lazy because a radio on fire is quite a common image. I mean, this one is literally a stock image: I guess it is quite reflective of the album, with all the 'clever' buzzwords in the lyrics that seem smart and stuff but are a bit overused, lol

I've seen videos where he messes up and basically just mumbles something unintelligible until he gets back to a part he remembers. It's hilarious! 2
Popular Post RedundantIdiot
Continuing the theme of Billie messing up, I find it hilarious when he goes over to Mike (or to Jason) to help them to sing backing vocals & then he realises he needs to sing his own lyrics and he quickly dashes back to his mike stand! This video of Billie knocking over his microphone stand mid-song also makes me laugh whenever I watch it- it's at 2:00. 3
Popular Post pacejunkie punk
99 Revolutions is a banger. It’s how you write a political protest song that’s about something, makes a statement but is also light and fun to listen to. My favorite kind of Green Day 💚

maryjanewhatsername
I was thinking today, and a thought occurred to me (never a good thing): American Idiot is often labeled as a "career saving album" for Green Day. If Cigarettes and Valentines had not been stolen and was released in place of American Idiot, do you think they'd be as popular as they are now? Do you think they would have released American Idiot or a similar album at a later time? ((also if this has been discussed before I apologize))

The band said they’d had the master tapes stolen but there have been theories that it wasn’t, that they just decided it wasn’t good enough and started over, or someone just claimed it was stolen because they knew the band could do better, or they just lost them but decided to say they were stolen... it never surfaced online so you gotta wonder what it was stolen for, if it was stolen. 🤷🏻♀️
Beerjeezus
I think they pretty much admitted what happened was that they had a fight and then just started over and created AI.
Popular Post Hermione
Literally right from when they first started saying it was stolen they had no poker face about it. The official line from them was never just that they had to start again because it was stolen, it was that the master tapes or whatever got stolen and that made them re-evaluate and realise it wasn't good enough so it would be better to do something more ambitious instead as well as sort their relationship with each other out. They were open about the other stuff from the beginning. There's no way the songs wouldn't have been recorded or documented in other ways, they would've been able to recreate the album if they'd wanted. My assumption is the stolen part just made it a better story than we realised the album sucked
jengd
They said at one time it was lost in a fire too. There was a small fire in the studio, they talk about it in Heart Like A Hand Grenade, but it seems they just said whatever they felt like 😂. To answer the question, no I think if they hadn’t done something as outstanding as AI they wouldn’t be “where they are now” but with the rise and rise of nasty, crappy pop music, not sure what that even means now. Although, I did hear on the radio that guitar driven rock seems to be gaining ground again.

They never really hid the real reasons for scrapping C&V and making AI instead but they wanted to make it a good story too
