Slydren
(I would call this off topic but it is random thoughts so save your complaining.) Recently ( as of last 3-6 days) I've been on a huge crazy for Kerplunk. Don't know why.
mulder
I feel bad because for a couple of weeks I didn't really listen to Green Day that often. However, I'm back listening to them right now and I feel like I appreciate them more than when I listened to them religiously everyday. Like taking a break from them kinda gave me a greater appreciation of them. Also, I have been listening to the acoustic version of "Stay The Night" fairly frequently. I just can't get over how good Billie's voice sounds in it!
DookieLukie
I just meant my mind tends to wander during Longview. Nothing wrong with the rest of the album. Dude, Longview is amazing!
JOE THE X-KID
It's annoying me but Lately i can't stop thinking (dreaming) about the trilogy songs being recorded with distortion.

Todd
When it's Time is a nice song, and I understand why it wasn't on any album. The lyrics sound kinda incomplete, like they were never finished or finalized.
JOE THE X-KID
but I mean in better quality, Missing you and 99 Revs are fine but songs like stay the night, and Ashley I'd Like to hear with better mics
Libertine Angel
Got a copy of Warning for £1.99 in a charity shop earlier. Wasn't even looking for music, it was just there.
Anaïs.
Just relistened to AI in the car for the first time in a while, and that anyone can claim the Trilogy is better is just goddamn bewildering.

greendayinsomniac
I was listening to Dookie earlier today and I got to thinking. Why did the choose to put Emenius Sleepus on the record instead of J.A.R. Because if I'm not mistaken they are both about the same thing, and they were both on the Dookie demos. Also J.A.R. is a far superior song. Idk though, just something I got to thinking about today.
Anaïs.
Who claims the trilogy is better than AI??? Seagull, dudley_dawson, etc. etc. See the "Trilogy is Underrated" thread where the latter claimed "Sweet 16" is better than JoS.

Danneh
Sweet 16 is definetly not better than JOS but there are maybe one or two songs I prefer from the trilogy then from AI
Todd
Sweet 16 better than JOS? Listen, I try not to go with the mainstream, I try to be more into punk, And I definitely prefer Green Day's first 3 albums to any other. But no song in Green Day's entire catalog can top Jesus of Suburbia. You may like Sweet 16 better, but that doesn't make it a better song. Like, I admit that Green Day's first two albums have average, lame songs. But I love them. Clearly, some people don't know how to separate their opinion from their judgement I was listening to Dookie earlier today and I got to thinking. Why did the choose to put Emenius Sleepus on the record instead of J.A.R. Because if I'm not mistaken they are both about the same thing, and they were both on the Dookie demos. Emenius Sleepus is about a different person though. That's a good question though. because it was so personal, maybe Mike just wasn't ready to put it on there yet, or maybe they just wanted to save some hits for the next album or release, cause y'know, they already had 5 on Dookie.

It's a shame it's too poppy for Insomniac (the music, that is, not the subject matter), because think of what a great lead single it would have been. Instead it's attached to a movie no one remembers.

Libertine Angel
When I hear JAR, it always seems to me like it's the same story as Emenius Sleepus, but from the other person's perspective - I can't think of any particular lines that show it at the moment, but that's the image I got. How? One is about a close friend who died tragically, and the other is about a friend who went down a bad path and became an asshole.

OK, I was unaware of the actual meaning of JAR (I should really look up what I'm talking about before talking about it). I just took the "I do what I like cause that's the way I wanna live" to be the guy who became an asshole saying "you might think I'm an asshole, but this is me, don't criticise it" or something like that. Don't worry, without having heard what the song is about that's a fine interpretation.
