First: “working on her” is unbelievably insulting. Hope you’re not surprised your apology wasn’t well-received. 

Second: A woman’s support group sounds great to me. And hardly a silent majority since several people have disagreed with you. 

And third: It’s none of our business to comment on who is in the wrong in the relationship, and I don’t care. It was Jeff’s public comments that are getting discussed. I don’t know how many more times it needs to be said.

I'm sure the majority of Green Day fans who don't suck up every single detail about Green Day they can find like we do even know it's about Yohannan. He tweeted about it once, I think that's it, and that was many many years after he wrote a song. I have to admit, I personally don't care about who Billie wishes to be dead and especially not if he writes about it in a vague song. For example, I think what he said about Steve Jobs was worse and I was disappointed that he felt the need to say that. Let's not forget though that Tim Yohannan wasn't completely innocent either, multiple people from the Gilman scene said (in the Turn It Around doc) that he published people's letters about how they wanted to kill Billie Joe in his magazine or something without objecting to it in his commentary... 

On the contrary, I would be even more upset if Billie tweeted these things about an ex girlfriend. I am upset with Jeff because I feel for his girlfriend, but I don't really care about Jeff otherwise. If someone I respected and loved as much as Billie did those things, I would be crushed and would probably reevaluate my love for the entire band altogether. It would be siginificantly worse.

Jeff made himself the villain publicly because he chose to post about it publicly. Who was wrong in the relationship isn't. our. business. The issue was that he dragged it online and encouraged his followers to attack her. We shouldn't even know about the alleged cheating because he shouldn't have posted about it, being a public figure and her not being. Being hurt in a relationship sucks but he is a famous 47 year old man who caused a non famous 24 year old with a young child to receive death threats, that is the sole reason he's "the bad guy", as he himself has recognised and said sorry for.

All I see here now is people getting into name calling and speculation about a private relationship that isn't our business based on very limited and one sided information. Let's all stop shall we

I agree, it needs to stop. But the point here is not even Jeff and his relationship. Once again, as I’ve said before, it’s an issue with superior, judgemental attitudes. So no one is going to call out the fact that @LaughingClock was accused of lying about who he is, even though there’s no evidence of that. How is that not bad online behavior too? There’s a double standard here, and it’s a Board issue.

I don’t think anyone said he was lying about who he is, just that no one gives a shit. We’re all equal on this board, it shouldn’t make a bit of difference whether someone “knows” things or not.

It does make a difference as someone who actually KNOWS the people involved can speak on them better than those who don’t

Not really, as Hermione and many others have pointed out, as fans it’s none of our business. We shouldn’t be speaking about them at all. It’s about the comments Jeff made encouraging threats towards someone less powerful than him, that’s it.

Disagreeing with an opinion isn’t being biased? And people are hardly given a free pass to attack, as you’re apparently doing the lord’s work and calling them out anyway.

I didn't bother mentioning names because the (rather mild) name calling seemed pretty evenly balanced, both LaughingClock and the other people in the argument were starting to resort to name calling/personal comments and all that needs to happen is for everyone to stop the discussion at that point. However it's LC who came into the thread aggressively saying fuck Jeff's ex to start the debate up again so I'm not sure what response would be expected.

If you see an "attack" on someone (taking into account their posts directed at other people and the full context of the conversation too) that has been overlooked please report it

I've hardly listened to them for nearly a year but I love green day, oh and I got the official 2019 calendar for christmas from my brother who thinks I never stopped obsessing but it's been so long I've come full circle and love it anyway so yaas

I got the 2018 calendar for Christmas from my brother. I waited to see if he'd get me the 2019 one but he didnt so I must buy it myself, I've become accustomed to having a different picture of Green Day peering at me each month now.

This exact thing happened to me! I told my sister outright that I wanted the calendar for Christmas but she didn’t get me it so I now have to head to the calendar shop to get it! I looked at the pics when we were in the shop before Christmas and remember thinking the photos were quite good. I’ve loved the RevRad pics from the 2018 calendar

The 2018 one has been good because: it's a cool photoshoot, Billie is wearing the "All American Cock Sucker" badge in it, and they took the trouble to use a photo of the correct band member for each of their respective birthday months (the scary Tre December one is great) and one with them wearing the masks for October (Halloween). 2019 one is a must have now.
