Is it 2002 again?

Idk if I'd say that but I'd just hate for them to put out a second bust in a row at this point in their career. It's always sad to see bans go down the tubes like that.

I still think Warning is their best album ever

Fair Enough. Even as cliché as it may be Dookie and AI shall always be having an eternal deathmatch to determine which I like more. I can never decide.

I appreciate AI and 21CB more than Warning and Dookie has the best singles of them all; but Dookie has some weaker tracks while Warning is far more consistent. And I love that more poppy sound :P but that's more unpopular opinion so I guesss this is a wrong thread

That's fair. I just enjoy AI so much since its what introduced me to the band. (Along with most people in my age group) As for Dookie, I have grown to like Green Day's older catalog much more and I consider Dookie to be my favorite of the era.

AI was my first album too to be honest. And Dookie is my favourite older album too, but it has soem weaker tracks like FOD and Ememous Sleepus and In The End so there. Though the singles are still very impressive.

I personally just love the entire album all the deep cuts included. I do always wonder what it would have been like to have J.A.R on Dookie though since it was on the demos. Same goes for Haushinka.

In the End could have been replaced by that and it wouöd be even greater album :P In the End is gemeric and that lyrical idea was already used on that album

By no means my favorite but it still has its place on the record for me anyways.

A matter of opinion.

My favourite's always either Dookie or Nimrod (providing I skip Take Back, which is my least favourite song ever (tied with Nightlife)), depending on which I listened to most recently.

Also Take Back is a horrendous piece of shit.

I half-think that that's what they were going for, tbh.

I can't see the point of recording crap intentionally if you are not Lou Reed.

I've heard that explanation for the Trilogy too. And people still expected me to think it was good, even after they said it was intentionally bad. Like, what?

That's the thing--I think they intended Take Back to be shitty, and I agree with that assessment. The Trilogy is a whole different kettle of fish. Especially when they themselves said *repeatedly* it was the best thing they'd ever done.

American Idiot is my favorite! I consider it their best album.

I also think it's their best album, everyone knew Green Day after American Idiot I'm pretty sure it's Billie Joe's favorite album too although Insomniac is my personal favorite.

Did he really say that? I remember reading a magazine interview where he was asked if the trilogy was their best work and he paused and said "I will say this: it's the most fun we've had making an album", but he didn't say "yes" to it being their best.

Yeah, they made repeated statements about how they were at the peak of their creativity and that "This is the best music we've ever made."

Oh come on, all bands say that when they make a new album. It's naturally how they'd feel having just made it. Wouldn't mind a source for that quote though :P, don't remember him saying that exactly.

How dare you question my curmudgeonhood? :P

I'll have to dig through their Facebook/Twitter, but I'll find it. :P
