Random Green Day Thoughts

So, yesterday the first headliners for Rock am Ring 2018 were announced. No Green Day yet. Keeping my fingers crossed. A short festival tour promoting their greatest hits album in 2018 would be SO great! Please please please! :runaround:

Let us know if you experience any bouncy side-effects

All right  For now, I'm feeling really good, much better than yesterday!

I'm only wondering, I'm usually in prey to an episode of irresistible laughter once a day and notably at work, for no obvious reason. It sometimes makes my lawyers laugh but it more often annoys them, so I hope this lightened state of mind won't aggravate this too much :P

Random thought was, that The Network is like Green Day in an alternate universe, but with Mike Dirnt mainly as a lead singer instead of Billie.

On the subject of the Network, I was just thinking today that Mike's voice matches the Network's music perfectly. Especially on Love and Money and Hammer of the Gods.

Just watched the Still Breathing music video again after a while and it's still killing me.

I love that video. When Tre and Mike are sitting in the two chairs next to an empty chair... uugg it kills me.

The  Still Breathing video is my happy place. Anytime I need to realize life isn't so bad, I watch that. Fantastic video.

That video is everything I could’ve hoped for for that song. Kills me every time too. Every shot of each of the guys is perfect

It reminds me in a way of the Good Riddance video in which they all had to convey a lot of emotion with their expressions to tell the story and they did such a good job with that.

Yes, only next level because I feel like the emotions are tied to something in SB. With Good Riddance it sorta feels like they were just being emotional for the sake of it. They really did do a great job. I love the frustration Tre and Mike have when they finally stop waiting for Billie, and the shots at the end when they’re finally together again. I especially love that shot because they could’ve used the “finding my way to you” line to have him finding his way back to a girl or something but instead it’s his friends, and there should be more positive friend stuff in videos. Everything doesn’t need to be a romantic relationship.

I don't feel that it's frustration but general anxiety and uncertainly, which maybe because I think they must have felt that at times during our dark age!

I live the SB video and I just watched the RevRad one again too, on a bigger screen and it was awesome, found it really emotional to with the flashbacks, can't understand now why I didn't like it more when it first came out.

Totally. I don't mean frustration as in purely anger. Definitely some anxiety and uncertainty which can be part of frustration.  But I do think some anger as well because (and I'm speculating but basing it on logic) I'm sure they felt some even small level of anger given he essentially put their career on the line. That's bound to bring out some level of that emotion even if your friend's general well-being is the most important thing. All in all, they're conveying a lot there and it's really well acted!
