Got my Nimrod shirt and vinyl today, so put the album on in the car. The journey lasted the whole album, no skips, and it was such a nice feeling to hear it all in order. I love that album so much

@simoro1 I would like Metallica to headline tbh #badfan:dry:

I doubt metallica will headline. They would sell out an arena tour on their own. I guess green day would too but they've already come here for an arena tour.

Hoping for rammstein and green day. Though I'd be torn about which to see 😂

To be honest Im not sure how Download works - if it is multiple days & stages but I do know if GD headlines the metal heads are gonna be pissed off:dry:

I've been to the 2nd edition of Download Festival in France in June to see Green Day. Don't know if this would be very resemblant elsewhere, but here's what I can tell:

The festival lasted 3 days, Friday 9th to Sunday 11th; there were 4 stages: main stages 1 and 2, medium and little, so there could be up to 4 bands performing at the same time. To give you an idea of the bands that performed and the music genres that predominated: on day 1: Linkin Park, Blink-182, Pierce The Veil, Gojira; on day 2: System Of A Down, Slayer, Paradise Lost; on day 3: Green Day, Rancid, Suicidal Tendencies, Prophets Of Rage.

Green Day were the closing act, performing last on Sunday; when they came on main stage 1 at 8 pm, Prophets of Rage had just begun performing on main stage 2. So at first people had to choose between both, but as Green Day's set was longer, everyone could watch them by the middle of their set. Even though the audience were mostly hardcore metal / punk dudes (I managed to stick on front row all afternoon but it was really scary), and Green Day's music was a cut with most of the other bands, most people chose to see Green Day instead of POR from the start :ga:

Posting a picture in the fangirls thread of Billie playing the drums has made me think of this:

Its great when Billie and Tre switch places with each other, but I want see what happens if Billie switches with Mike, or Mike with Tre? I don't know how good/bad Mike would be on the drums but it would be interesting/funny to see him try :P

I wish Billie would play the piano, or even just acoustic more often. Like, imagine an emotional piano rendition of Still Breathing. Stray Heart would be a completely different song. I'm sure it would anger a lot of people but I'd like it :P

I agree with this so much. When I first became a more intense fan I couldn't understand how they have sooo much content (interviews, sessions etc,) and yet virtually no acoustic performances with just Billie other than when he plays one or two songs at the end of a concert. One of my other favorite bands has done so many acoustic songs for radio sessions or in stores that you could practically recreate some of their albums as all acoustic if you download them all. Not that I think mike and Tre should be excluded from things but there's something really moving about watching a singer sing their lyrics with just an acoustic or a piano in a small setting. You can get a different  performance from them emotionally often times. Ugh, I wish he'd do this.

That's what got me thinking about it too. It seems like all my other favourite artists have done so many acoustic performances in comparison, and it really can be a different listening experience that gives the songs another dimension. I don't expect him to go around playing all acoustic sets or anything (though I wouldn't mind), but a few radio performances would be great. We can dream!

I had Tre on repeat yesterday.  I wish BJ had recorded the scream in brutal love (I kinda add it:)).

In X-kid I love BJ's pronunciation of probably - it rhymes with hollywood POBBLY:lol:

Well if by some slim chance the promoters manage to talk Rancid into coming downunder - I will be there for sure.  Not sure if I will go to Melbourne to see GD headline a festival though.=/

Exactly! I've had songs that I wasn't even that into become some of my favorite songs when I heard them done acoustically. Especially if it's a faster song thats sung slower and more emotionally. Billie's a bit unusual though in that he seems to approach songs the same way when he does them acoustic as he does electric. Of course I'm just basing this on the handful of songs he's played acoustic at live shows, which is different of course than if he was just doing a few at a radio station. Would be great though regardless. But not sure they're gonna change their ways 30 years in haha.

That's what's been said so far. But I reckon it will be more like Soundwave. 3 or 4 one day festivals in different cities.

The announcement should happen this week I hope - another band (Biffy Clyro) just announced a tour.  I thought for sure they would be at Download

Thanks! I didn't know about this one. I think there was at least one other I've come across from the early days. Just wish there was some where he didn't play it almost exactly like the electric version, haha.
