Yeah no I'm gonna have to draw the line here... that's like a terrifying glimpse into a (hopefully) very distant future

Only if something very strange happens to his head, WTF!

In fairness to Liam Gallagher if that's the picture he'd seen it all makes sense

That picture must be how the Gallaghers see everybody

@Maria Gloria if this is your campaign for Best Graphic Designer, it's definitely working

Hahahaha no I made it in response to this a while ago  But I'm glad it's appreciated that I'm using my arts degree for all the right things.

Still I hope we never have to witness a real bald Billie...

Why are we discussing Billie's weird head in two topics in one day, that's way too much to handle

I was going to indicate in this second topic that it is Noel Gallagher, not Liam, but then I found this article that says it's Liam (I really don't give a shit, in real :P) and that Noel, who has met Billie in 2015, said: "He was a very, very nice guy, I’ve got to say.” : http://www.nme.com/news/music/noel-gallagher-94-1212920

Anyway, the Gallagher who said that he didn't like Billie's head, said it in 2009 at the latest. He had no excuse whatsoever

My boss decided to greet me this morning by loudly singing American Idiot down the corridor. Apparently my love for Green Day has been noticed

Also my co-worker who used to quite like them thinks that the song Minority is called Minority Report but I don't correct her because I don't want to be a snobby elitist fan :P

LOL Minority report? That sound like something my mom would say. She once referred to 30 seconds to Mars as 5 seconds to Mars.

This is pretty cool.  Maybe that baby will become a guitarist,  she sure has the fingers for it.

I do that all the time. 5 seconds to Mars, 30 seconds of summer, 5 seconds of Mars. I have to be careful to get it right. And don't get me started on Royal Blood, Royal Republic and Republic of Two.

Oh what wait, this is the random thoughts thread? I was reading the last two pages of posts and was absolutely sure I was in the fangirls thread. I'm confused.

Every thread can - but I guess probably shouldn't - be the fangirls thread

Guys what do you think All The Time is about? Yesterday I read this article and I was surprised that the writer interpreted it a song about boredom of domestic life. To me it's always been obviously about addiction. :happyhands:

Yeah sounds like alcoholism to me.

Yeah, it seems obvious. I never thought of any other interpretation.

Yeah, to me the theme of the song is the time in general through the prism of his addiction. The part about the song in the article is: "All the Time” conveys domesticity’s tedium, as Armstrong wryly describes “having the time of my life, watching the clock tick.” I do think there's a "domestic" sound to the song, and that Billie refers incidentally to boredom in that line. But the song itself is not about boredom, and I don't feel that the writer of the article reduced it to that. He didn't mention all the songs on Nimrod, and spoke previously of Billie's addiction to alcohol when coming to Hitchin' A Ride. So I guess he just wanted to provide a brief look on the diverse subjects addressed on Nimrod.

You make a good point, he does talk about boredom in that line, but I wouldn't say it's domestic boredom, what he talks about is wasting time. That's different imo

So on the way home last night I put on ¡Tre! And DRB came on hadn’t listened to it in a while but the whole California burning to the ground part really hits right now...

I was thinking the same thing today! I was listening to Tre while cleaning and when that song played I was singing it thinking, oh weird.

Still Breathing is becoming my #1 Green Day song, before Forever Now. My #1 song. That's said.

I was also thinking about Tre (album), reading an article mentioning that Tre came out on December 2012 instead of January next year, as a "compensation" for the deleted and postponed concerts. I was thinking, it must've been tough for you guys not knowing what would happen next, and that album must have been sort of the spillway for that worry. I mean, I remember the first time I listened to opening track Brutal Love, I cried. And practically all the album is pretty damn beautiful. So I'm just imagining what it must have been for you guys who listened to it right after its release. I think I would have loved it even more. And knowing how things have gotten better starting from 2013, it must've been such an intense time to be a fan.

I remember listening to the NME album stream the moment it came up and after that first listen it was already my favourite of the Trilogy, after Dos was a tad disappointing I remember thinking "now this is starting to get back on track" with Tré.
