Why does it matter? It's none of our business.

that is thing,it does matter to him..it not about "our business"..it about some people are not accepting who he is..

anyways..

i just listen to Dos..it is one of my best out of Trio album. (don't fight me on this!)

It is very different and very dark adult theme..(if you know what I mean..)..;)

Amy is an amazing song.  I love it more since @Second favourite son put in my head that BJ was perhaps writing about himself.

I've always seen it that way too, he obviously was able to relate - as he said in one interview from that time (anyone remembers which?). I watched Amy the movie a while ago and it made me think about the song as well, what he wrote is very empathetic.

(Side note, the documetary was great but omg, it breaks my heart to even reminisce about it.)

I almost wondering about Lyrics in "Basket case"

"I went to a Whore, He said" He?" I thought it was typo..Billie meant "she"

but then I listen to song "coming clean"(from Dookie)  about him coming out as Bisexual

and I thought that make sense..

I love how  billie put he/she in his most of lyrics..

Billie said this in 2014 to Rolling Stone

Why did you turn the gender around in that song's third verse? The whore is a "he".

I wanted to challenge myself and whoever the listener might be. It's also looking at the world and saying, "It's not as black and white as you think. This isn't your grandfather's prostitute – or maybe it was." This record touches on bisexuality a lot.

Billie wrote about her because she had a big influence on him.  She was a big part of Billie's life at a very formative time.  It doesn't mean he's still in love with her, but a lot of people have that one ex who means a little bit more to them than the others, and it's often the first real relationship towards the end of the teenage years.  As much as he is comfortably with his wife, that doesn't stop him using how he felt at the time, and her lasting effects on his life, as inspiration for his writing - doesn't mean he'd ever be remotely interested in pursuing anything with her, it's just Billie using his feelings for songwriting inspiration.

I have never been to a concert here that did not have seats on the floor

But during the 99 Revolutions tour there weren't any seats on the floor either. At least not at the shows I attended.

which other songs touches on Bisexuality (beside coming clean) from Dookie..

I thought most of his songs is about or touches on being Bi not just from Dookie.

I read he mention he wrote most of his songs on both gender..(i think Rolling stone)

I obviously can't say for sure if it is definitely Amanda or not but it's about someone from his past and wanting to have a one night stand with them as it includes the lyrics

"I got to know if you're the one that got away
Even though it was never meant to be

Say you'll stay the night
'Cause we're running out of time
So stay the night
I don't wanna say goodbye
Say you'll stay the night
'Cause we're running out of time
So stay the night
Well I don't wanna say goodbye"

He didn't go into any other specifics other than Basket case and Coming Clean (a live version of which was released on versions of Dos also) and giving the general statement, "This record touches on bisexuality a lot." Maybe some of the songs have meaning to him which he's never explained publicly.

There is a gig on YouTube that I downloaded a few years ago when I was grabbing any old footage of gigs I could find in the boredom after the trilogy tour ended where Billie had just kissed Tre and said, "My man. Once you thought I was writing those girl songs they’re actually about boys". I also remember him saying one of the main reasons he loved Bowie was because he was androgynous and that influenced him while writing American Idiot. Well I'm putting it more succinctly than Billie did as I specifically recall the phrase "It's all androgynous and stuff" being tossed about during the interview.

That's Billings, MT 1991.  One of the things I love about that one is when someone in the audience then says "ew", Billie says "don't say ew, we're not homophobic here", someone immediately goes "oh, okay".  I love how quickly they came around, especially in a place as conservative as Montana in 1991.

I like this explanation. Personally, I always feel this sort of theme of nostalgia if/when he writes about her. Uno as a whole also has a lot of nostalgia in it.

When people call Billie "Billy Joe" it's bad but when people call him "Billy Joel" I literally want to throw myself off a cliff... the thought of some people legitimately thinking Billie Joe Armstrong and Billy Joel are the same person is truly repulsive
