It's not only Kurt, the whole 27 Club thing is incredibly disturbing in my opinion and so is romanticizing/normalizing addiction. I mean, as a society, we are inconsistent - it's cool to be fucked up as long as you're a celebrity, but kids, don't try this at home and in real life, being judgemental is mostly a thing. As I said, weird. Yep, double standards... it is disturbing that with celebrities it's being praised a lot of the time. Maybe it really got to me in this case because I don't think of Billie as this rock'n'roll god/icon/celebrity (although he is). I think of him as someone I admire, but more like a friend that I care about (weird to put it like that, but you know what I mean )

Most of the time, he seems very down-to-earth. It's never been a part of his image.

How is this a compliment is beyond me... the fact that he meant it well made it even worse imo. Strangely enough, it's not umcommon - things can't get much weirder than when it comes to Cobain's suicide. It's been turned into a cool story more times than I can count. "He was on heroin and then he killed himself. What a cool, authentic artist!!!". It's twisted. It is kind of sad that someone would compliment him on that given all he's been through, and the fact not much of that shows on his face. And the fact that the drugs and all are something that people think are a normal and necessary part of a rockstar. For that matter the whole Cobain suicide story thing kind of annoys me. People get it all trumped up into the cool romanticized story of a 'tortured genius' who couldn't take the pressure and all that bullshit, when he likely didn't even kill himself in the first place.

Popular Post MissHoliday228
Hey, as you can see I'm new to this community and I just want to state my opinion on Green Day. Maybe it's nice for you to get to know how fast a "newbie" fan can fall deeply in love with the best band in the world... So let me start: It's been one and a half year that I consider myself being a real fan of Green Day. It all started with a bunch of songs (mostly AI/21CB-decade) that I downloaded a while ago and always had fun listening to them on my phone. But then came a day that changed everything: My brother was listening to the radio and they started playing Holiday (which therefore is my favorite song off all songs this band has put out) and I liked this song a lot. I then searched for it on a music app and found out that it's from Green Day! Soon I started listening to American Idiot and I fell in love with every song on that record immediately. I downloaded them all and I knew I have to listen to all of their stuff as soon as possible. Following many nights I spend listening to all their records, I found out that what I discovered there was more than I ever thought a single band can put out - like it wasn't just a bunch of good lyrics, fun to listen to or great music. No, it was way more than that and to this day, I still can't find the words to describe it. Ever since, this band had a huge impact on everything I do and everyone of my thoughts. And after that I bought all of their records, life albums, making ofs, compilations - basically all their stuff. I never regret it and whenever I look at all those records stacked on my desc, I get goosebumps and so many good thoughts are running through my head. Whenever I listen to a Green Day song (any Green Day song) I feel infinite and start embracing this world even more. The so far last chapter of my experience with Green Day goes back to August 2016. I just came back from vacation and I didn't know that my favorite band has planned to put out a record again which I dreamed of since I listened to all their stuff. I just new about all those rumors going on - you know, with the hashtag #revrad thing, where nobody knew anything for sure. And when I first listened to Bang Bang in my Garden which was released during my vacation (that's the reason that I didn't get to listen to it earlier) it just blew my mind. And at that point of time, I knew the record was going to be killer! Time went by and they released those three awesome singles and I got to love this band even more (if this was possible at all). I celebrated the day they've put out Revolution Radio so much and the night before I got the cd and a revrad-tshirt. I've put it on immediately and started listening to Revolution Radio. (I'm so sorry but I can't really find any words to describe that experience.) As soon as I knew they have planned a world tour, I needed to get tickets. To see them live I dreamed of for a long time now. And when that day came (it's been two days now already) I couldn't think of what it's going to be like. As soon as I got to the arena and I knew my dream is about to become true, I cried. I cried throughout the first song they played that night and throughout the last. Next day I even cried more cause at that point of time I first got to realize what has happened the night before. (I guess it will take even more time to really figure that out.) So Green Day was the first band I really fell in love with and that all happened so fast! I know I've not been a fan for many years but I sadly didn't get in touch with that kind of music earlier (can you blame me for that?). To all of you fans out there: Green Day is and always will be the best band on this planet and I hope for all of you - and myself of course - that their career will go on as long as possible!!! *-* Thanks for listening, I hope my post was interesting to read! And please forgive me for any language mistakes I've probably made because English isn't my mother language (I'm from Germany) Edited February 1, 2017 by MissHoliday228

Yes, I just watched the whole Bullet In A Bible concert and I can only say how true everything I wrote is. I'd be a different person without listening to them as well, I'm so sure of it. And thanks for reading my story, wanted to put that up somewhere (where I know that there are people who as fans themselves actually care about it) but it never seemed to be the right time without having seen Green Day live. Now that it's only been two days, I had to share my story with all of you! Edited February 1, 2017 by MissHoliday228

End Of The World
I love the mixing of Nimrod. Guitar and bass are finally balanced to make that fucking "brilliant" sound. Too Dumb To Die has a really similar mixing, that's why I love it.
