They are the go to albums for the broken hearted. :)

That is when they can be truly related to. Tre especially.

Before I went to school yesterday, Good Riddance started playing on the radio. As soon as my mom heard it she rolled her eyes at my pitchy singing and fled the room in less than two seconds

Since when do you listen to hubby???  I adore both songs.  But, the reason I like Still Breathing better is that for Brutal Love I feel like Billie is being distant.  He is saying how hard this love is and he just seems so conflicted.  With Still Breathing I feel like he is letting everyone in.  Brutal Love pushes us away, Still Breathing lets us in.  It feels like he is in a better place with Still Breathing.

They're both extremely emotional songs, but different for the reasons you stated. Brutal Love is such a raw song—more than a particular situation, it just evokes feelings. It's about struggle and longing and pain, and it just hits you in your gut. Because of everything surrounding the release of the albums, that song was remarkably difficult to listen to, as much of a masterpiece as it is. That whole period was a weird time for me as a fan, and this song really captures that sense of heartache I felt at the time. But for as emotional as it is, it is still distant, which is how a lot of the trilogy songs feel.

Still Breathing—and all of RevRad, for that matter—is beautiful because it's so damn honest. Being honest on purpose. That makes all the difference in the world. Brutal Love hits me in the gut, but Still Breathing puts a lump in my throat. I have always felt that Brutal Love was an absolute masterpiece, and objectively, it still might be my favorite. But everything Still Breathing signifies and the feeling of hope it gives me puts it on a higher level. In Bullet in a Bible, Billie described JOS as being a song that people even couldn't describe as being their favorite, that it was something bigger than that. That's how I feel about Still Breathing.

WICA is my go to song. I love it and always come back to it no matter what. The into, the awesome bassline, the lyrics, the whole feeling of the song. To me it's just a perfect song.

I like the live version they released as a b-side to something. The instruments still sound a little too polished and thin to me and it feels a bit long but it's so much fun. It makes me want to dance every time.

And the way Billie pronounces "darrrrrk" and "parrrrrrk" gives me life.

That's exactly the way I feel about SB, too. It feels like a part of me; like this song has always been inside my heart and GD just brought it to life.

GD should do Prosthetic Head live

And the Grouch. I always feel like Hitchin' a Ride should transition into it.

I think that 105 members online is the most I have seen at once during my time here on GDC

When was there 1,005 people online? Was it around the time of the trilogy? :D

When I hovered over the 1,005 with the mouse, it said 01/03/2016 at 09:59PM. I wonder why there were so many people logged on??? I think the most I've seen here is 140!

I've just hovered over it again, but its giving a different date?! Confused.

The most I've seen is like 80 or 90 around the announcement of Bang Bang, but I guess that's partly due to living in Europe and being online at (late) afternoon hours in the US.

I'm still wondering when those 1,005 users could possibly have been on this site. I guess the way to find out is to tag @Andres in this conversation

My guess would have been the trilogy era (maybe ¡Uno!'s release), but I really can't see that being possible considering the max. number I've seen online at any point since Bang Bang came out was about 110. I'm deeply confused

And GDC was sooooo slow it wouldn't load. :P how could it possibly work for so many people?

I guess it was around the time Billie posted the first photo from the studio.

YES. I wish they would play a lot more songs from Nimrod.

Scattered is fucking great though. Gotta love them for keeping that around for a while. Should do Nice Guys Finish Last instead of Hitchin' A Ride or both every night.

Definitely both. Hitchen is my favorite, I'll refuse to leave until they play it.

I don't think that's it. If you hover over it, it says 1/03/16 and that photo was posted the 18th. What was going on the 3rd of January last year. I am very curious to know.

I have no idea

Headline from the Prague show: Fan holds Green Day hostage until they play her favorite song

You have no idea how accurately it describes the way I feel about that song
