Random Green Day Thoughts

Sooooooooooooooooo, no Christmas song this year?   Man, screw this band!

Just kidding.

Ymas Time of the Year would be a cool sequel to the last one though, right?

Maybe tomorrow.

Why would Billie Joe let one of his sons take up MMA?  Anyway, I hope the kid does well.

Umm, what now?

Jakob turned 18 this year, no? Thus, Billie is no longer in a position of authority where he can "allow" his kids to do anything. They're adults now, what can he do?

Anybody remember that interview Tre did with Rick Campanelli when he was Rick the Temp back in '98 during the Nimrod gig in the alley of Toronto? Tre put his microphone in the microwave, wish I still had that on tape.

Growing up, I got my good taste in music from my dad. Whatever albums he got, I would listen to them. Whether it was 311, Incubus, The Cure, I usually loved everything he played. I can't wait to have kids and fill them in on Green Day and other bands that I love; continuing that passion for music in the family.

I am saving my original Dookie cassette to give to my daughter on her 12th birthday, the age when I discovered them and they changed my life. That's awesome you're already thinking about that! My daughter is only 2.5 but she already recognizes Green Day when she hears them and knows all their names, so I think I'm on the right track for sure 😆

"Shut up, Sassafras Roots"

Hey, what about Amanda and Olivia?

Yes, you shouldn't forget about your ex-wife because you've got a rock 'n roll girlfriend (your ex is mine now).

I've got full custody of the rock 'n roll car, though.

Wow, that is SO thoughtful and such a sweet idea! I'll definitely be saving my Green Day albums and playing them for my kids. & that's awesome that your daughter is already aware of Green Day! You're a cool parent, that's for sure. :)

There's no such thing as too much King for a Day. It's basically a better version of Happy Birthday (yes, KFAD is my fave birthday song, also due to the fact that I was born the year Nimrod was released

Really? I just pictured a scene with kids at a birthday party singing a crossdresser's song and celebrating...it's kinda scary now...like "yeah, you're a year older now! let's put on a leather thong!"

There's a really good chunk of Billie's guitar work on 1039 that is fantastic! The guitar solo in Dry Ice is phenomenal
