21guns&novacaine
The video for Geek Stink Breath makes me insanely uncomfortable. I have this phobia against teeth, including my own, I dunno haha Also, it surprises me how many of Green Day's music videos I've never seen! In the video for Nice Guys Finish Last, Tre is wearing a 4-H shirt and it made me so insanely happy haha. I'm in the Wyoming division of 4-H, except 4-H revolves around agriculture? How in the world did it end up in his possession? Or did he secretly used to be a member?... One never knows.
Popular Post DookieLukie
Mike saying that he "isn't anywhere near done" with making music on SiriusXM was great to hear. I know Billie says it all the time, but hearing Mike verbalize the same emotions let me knows that there's many albums to come.

No, I never got around to it before, but they were playing a bunch of their videos last night. I'm gonna have to find a copy of it now. I never really realized how cool their older videos are, like xounting how many times the guy almost killed himself in the Warning video.
Popular Post Billie Hoe
Billie got so much hate for his "I'm with her" comment from Hillary haters and/or Trump supporters and wannabe punks on facebook that they took the picture down. Sad it has to come to this every single time he so much as utters Trump's name in any context. I didn't know what these people expected? He's a person who was so outspoken about Bush years ago and the world celebrated Green Day for it but now suddenly it has become a problem? Suddenly he's supposed to "shut up about politics and stick to music"? Why do people STILL act like Hillary is just as bad as Trump? Why is Billie the stupid one for knowing that voting third party or not voting at all (looking at the punk scene) isn't gonna help. What is happening?!
stories and songs
@Billie Hoe I know, I feel bad. I mean, you put yourself in the position of being criticized any time you talk politics, and I'm sure Billie knows that. But like...what do people want from him? Hillary isn't the ideal democratic candidate for a lot of folks, and I understand that. But the choice is her or Trump. As much as I'd like an independent candidate to be a legitimate option, they just won't be in the running. That's not how our voting system is set up, so the choice comes down to Trump or Clinton. That's not Billie's fault, he's just being practical here. I'm super proud that my favorite artist is so outspoken against Trump and is encouraging people to vote for love instead of hate. A lot of times when people are fed up they choose to not vote at all, and that drives me mad. So good for Billie.
Billie Hoe
@stories and songs I know right, she wouldn't be my ideal candidate either and I'd still vote for her. I don't like her and I don't trust her but right now she's America's only hope at a future that isn't completely fucked backwards and forwards. I can't believe nobody has put an end to this already and that Trump hasn't disqualified himself multiple times by now. Trump is fucking up his own campaign more and more every day and yet it's still a contest. He can do whatever he wants, no scandal will stop people from defending him or make them realize that the only real option here is Hillary. She wouldn't be perfect and maybe even a bad president, we don't know that yet, but it's still no comparison to the four years (or more) of absolute hell and misery that'll await you when if Trump gets elected. I'm sorry I'm getting carried away, I'm not even American, but this makes me so unbelievably mad. I'm mad and confused and sad about what is happening. It seems like everyone is in on a joke that I don't understand. I'm really really glad and thankful that Green Day (and other influental people of course) are so passionate and unapologetic about giving Trump as much shit as humanly possible.
Popular Post stories and songs
@Billie Hoe Agreed, totally. I deeply apologize for America being so ridiculous, I promise we're not all crazy. On another note, was just thinking about and appreciating how great this era has been so far. I'm never going to forget how happy and fun this time has been. All these great interviews, watching concerts on live stream, the awesome concert I got to go to, driving around listening to this incredible new album...all of it has been such a blast. I love how much of my life is being taken up by Green Day right now. I love being able to have so much fun with them and getting to watch their excitement over this. They and the fans both really, really deserve this awesome celebration that we're having right now. It's the best.

Why is Billie the stupid one for knowing that voting third party or not voting at all (looking at the punk scene) isn't gonna help. What is happening?! I thought the same thing after clicking through some of the comments on Instagram yesterday... But people who comment like this are just stupid. Telling Green Day to stick to music instead of talking about politics is a contradiction. Their music, at least big parts of it, is politics, it's part of their identity. They have never ducked away with their opinion, even if this could always result into losing popularity. I'm so, so proud of them. And that's part of why I love them so much. During AI era, it was the influence of their music that made me get involved into politics, and I will always be grateful for that. My only hope is that this whole video/sexism thing will break Trumps neck. It’s the right scandal at the right time. GD must have something to do with it
21guns&novacaine
I don't personally like his candidate choice, but I understand why he wanted to speak about it. He's a voice to those who are unsure. Looking at the American Idiot era, there was a lot of kids who weren't aware of politics until they listened to the album and it got their attention. It's not fair of the fans to stomp his opinion into the dirt just because it differed from theirs.

Omg hahaha that actually reminds me of a joke me and my sister had about Bon Scott, the old singer of AC/DC. In all their old videos, he always wore these tiny shirts that came right above his bellybutton in a in unflattering way, so we used to joke that he shopped in the children's section at Goodwill.

Hmm that's weird. Well, the fan club membership is $20 annually, so technically you're getting the album for free.

Popular Post Libertine Angel
I was at my sister's yesterday and I was putting punk songs on YouTube and talking about all the old punk bands who are still going, Basket Case autoplayed so I pointed to them as an example and she replied "Green Day are more of an institution really, like you wouldn't refer to the Statue Of Liberty as 'still going', it just is." She's not even really a fan, so that's cool.
