They do call me a bitch, that is how I know I'm a great parent!

Isn't it 11 AM in England now???  If I'm right, just shut up I was up at 3 AM yesterday.

I was awake at 3AM yesterday too, but not by choice, I just hadn't slept yet :P Outside semester time that's my standard sleeping pattern, I fall asleep some time in the early morning and wake up some time in the afternoon.

It is. Jimmy is a sleeping beauty.

...Well that's not something I've been described as before :P

Yeah but he is a Uni student - lunch time is wake up time

Exactly, I lose so much sleep during uni I have to make up for it :P

My mum's been saying that for the last several months :P

Damn, I just realized that the U.S. tour probably means they won't be able to appear on SNL to promote the album. I would've loved another SNL appearance :( I guess they could do it the week after, on the 15, but SNL's been so pop and hip-hop heavy with their bookings recently and since it is the week after, not the day after, I doubt it.

Complete PARANOIA that the tickets won't arrive on time, then reminding myself that I only ordered them this morning...

So I'm jamming songs on my guitar and I must say Misery is a fucking amazing song lyrically and it's absolutely beautiful to play.

My local morning news show called Green Day a 90's band and the really obnoxious traffic reporter who thinks she's just the funniest said that she thought their 2003 tour was a reunion tour.

Will be changing channels

Last fall I tuned a station that was playing lots of 90's rock music in the car, they said they were going to play Uno, the new (in 2015, mind you) album of Green Day, a 90's legend, the listeners picked it over The Offspring's Days Go By. Your station isn't the only one.

I want to punch whoever manages the GD site/store. Everything about it is atrocious.

"I'm sweating bullets like a modern Romeo" is becoming one of my favorite Green Day lyrics ever

I'm still not sure how I like the new songs...it's definitely better than the trilogy but something is still missing. Maybe it's the mixing - it sounds a bit too polished, especially the vocals and I'm not too impressed by the lyrics or maybe I'm just way too analytical when listening to those songs to enjoy them. Idk, maybe the time of me being a Green Day fan is somewhere in the past and I just can't be into their new music the same as I love their work until 21CB.

So was revolution radio a single? Or was it just released?

It is a single and was released Thursday on iTunes and Amazon, followed by a Facebook and YouTube lyric video.

I feel you, but think of it like this:
You have friends and family, sometimes you don't talk to them for a couple years, or you don't approve of every decision they make, but you still love them. You can't just say "well I used to love them but..."
With Green Day its the same way, for me at least. When the trilogy came out I wasn't even listening to them anymore but when someone asked me who my favorite band was, I'd say Green Day just like I always have. And now, I feel like I'm hyper critical of their music A) because i've learned to laugh at my own taste in music and B) because it's like being a parent that tells their kid that their drawing is awesome even if it isn't.
Sometimes I find it hard to relate to any album in the same ways that I would 5 years ago, or 10 years ago. But then I see a picture of them and the nostalgia factor alone kickstarts the passion again.

RevRad's lyrics aren't impressive, but I don't think we can judge the album by these two songs. I first need to hear Somewhere Now, Say Goodbye, Troubled Times, Still Breathing and Too Dumb To Die and all those other tracks.

I feel similar as you and I wish I could be more detached from their music at this point. I'm being overly critical because of being the huge fan I am and that makes simple enjoying of their songs more difficult than it is with other bands :P

You're right, besides these songs aren't half bad by normal standards. It's rather just that my gd standards are blown out of proportion.

I'm the exact opposite, I find it so much easier to like Green Day music than with other bands.  I feel like I'll always like Green Day's new material, even if there are periods where I don't listen to them that much.  A new Green Day song is still excites me even if it's not perfect, and that's probably partly to do with the nostalgia, as well as the really deep meaning this band has for me.  Don't get me wrong, if they release an awful song I'm not blind to it.  I just still enjoy listening, although not as much as if they released an awesome one of course :P

I'd switch with you if I could! :P With Green Day, I tend to think way too much. I listen and analyze different aspects of the song and I tend to evaluate everything. When I listen to other bands, I let the music do its magic. I'm like a crazy scientist vivisecting every note Green Day play. It might be taking away from my experience.

I guess it's kinda normal. I personally had set rather low expectations for myself after the Trilogy disappointment and up until now, I think they've certainly improved. RR and BB are not 21CB or AI-quality songs, but they are a step in the right direction in my opinion.

I'm placing bets on Troubled Times and Somewhere Now.

I couldn't agree more. They made a solid step back on the right track.

Damn, 21CB is such an insanely awesome record. Still their lyrical and sonic apex in my opinion. Maybe a tad too long, but so epic and for some reason I like it even more after listening to RR and BB.
