PurpleIron1039
I haven't listened to anything after Nimrod (excepting 21CB) in its entirety in well over half a year. Am I a bad fan?

In that case you're still doing it because you want to in order to make her happy, it may be to a different end but the base cause is still the same. it sure is a different kind of song than when it's time

People who like earlier GD better will put on their pre-Warning records more frequently and vice versa.

Up until Thursday 😱 I explored other musical interests

I used to be the craziest GD fan on the planet a couple years ago--wearing GD merch everyday, only listening to GD, defending them against all criticism, etc. However, I feel as if I've started to drift away from them since I got into other music. I always feel immensely guilty when I open my Spotify and scroll past that long list of Green Day albums, like I'm betraying them or something.
Beerjeezus
I don't feel guilty. They'll always have a special place in my heart. I don't have to listen to their noise to love them. Same goes for other bands I used to listen to intensively.
Libertine Angel
Yeah, much as I love them they're no longer my absolute favourite and I don't mind that, they'll always be among them but not at the top anymore.

Green Day was the band that got me interested in music in general, and I can't thank them enough for that. It has completely changed my life and perspective on the world.

To me it sounds like a poem a 5th grader would write. Musically I find it drags, so coupled with the weak lyrics, it makes for a very weak song. WMUWSE lyrics are far superior, but coupled with the music that drags, it takes away from the lyrics. When it's time isn't the best standalone song, but I thought it was excellent in the musical. Really well staged, really well sung, very emotional. I bought the recording hoping to get the same feeling the song in the show gave me, and I just haven't got it. Considering going to the musical again just because of that song. 30 minutes ago, PurpleIron1039 said: I agree that they'll always occupy that special place in my heart. At any given time they may not be my current favourite band (right now they are though), but they're definitely my favourite band of all time and it's hard to see that changing.

It was like they were trying to fit the song in and stuck it somewhere

Sometimes you might kinda feel forced to do such things as holding hands or saying sweet things or even hugging (makes me think of Redundant actually). He's just saying he sincerely wants to, there's no voice in his head telling him what to do and he's doing it simply because his heart and nothing else is forcing him to. It's not something that should be taken for granted, I always get shivers on that line since it's something I can actually relate to. I love When It's Time.
PurpleIron1039
Does anyone else cringe when they read the comments on Billie's Instagram photos? Some of them (namely the ones referring to him as "daddy") are just downright embarrassing.

Everyone from South America calls Lana Del Rey mom on Instagram...like wtf? Tre made a joke once saying "your new dad" (or something like that) so now everyone calls him dad on his Instagram which is funny, but like... jordanlolss
The dad thing can be funny or creepy. Creepy if the person never acknowledges it but the fans continue to call him it. Funny if the person goes along with it because they are a middle-aged dad and embrace it. For example, Mark Hoppus always has his Twitter name as some variation of dad. When Bored to Death came out, it was 'Bored to Dadth', atm its 'Pokedad Go'...
Maid Meringue
It makes me uncomfortable because I've always viewed them as father figures since I was a preteen when my dad left. So when these kids use "daddy" as a sexual thing, I'm like no that's gross and he's MY old man Imagine how their actual children (who are old enough to use social media) feel about it??
tresexy101
I feel that Green Day, particularly, Tre Cool.... is silly. He went to clown school. Try and maybe compartmentalize the issue you have. But what do I know.
