Jason would probably have the time of his life. You know, I was just googling which instruments exactly were used in this song but I found this instead: Quote This was the theme song for the 2000 Democratic Convention (Bill Clinton's party), until someone noticed the line, "A little bit of Monica in my life." Jesus Christ...

solongfromthestars
Putting this here so I'm not spamming the Bang Bang thread with my own thoughts. The title Revolution Radio really reminds me of when Do You Remember Rock 'n Roll Radio? was played before Song of the Century and it was the most exciting and amazing build-up. I hope (and am pretty sure) that this will be equally exciting and amazing

UNICORN VOMIT
Its quite refreshing after all the Fbombs of the trilogy "head" is the worst word in bang bang.
PurpleIron1039
I was reading a Stereogum article on Bang Bang, but the comments section left a bad taste in my mouth. There was one user who was repeatedly being downvoted into oblivion and being addressed condescendingly as a "troll" simply because he dared to argue that American Idiot was incredibly influential and would hold up over time and because he refused to acknowledge that Fucked Up's David Comes to Life and Titus Andronicus's The Most Lamentable Tragedy would ultimately prove more influential than American Idiot. I really do agree with that user, because the scholars studying these supposed masterpieces aren't the only ones who influence the world. I am fully willing to admit that I have listened to neither of the aforementioned albums. Punk really is not my thing, and unless you put a dash of metal into it, I really can't tolerate the majority of punk rock. I, as a casual fan of some punk, am not going to go digging deep into a pile of indie punk bands for listening material. While those two albums may be great, they are most likely not going to have the same impact as AI had on the average rock fan. Why? Because AI was accessible and relatable to much of a generation, and many people really don't venture outside of the mainstream for music. Hell, I don't agree with any of Billie's politics and still love the shit out of that record. It's not only musically great but certain songs also correspond to meaningful events in my life. I've always wondered if this is how the rest of the world views Green Day fans--as childlike trolls who have nothing interesting to contribute to the conversation (not that I think that the user who was being accused of being as much was exactly that. I admire people with the balls to defend a band and its music even in the face of a tsunami wave of dislikes and condescension. It's punk to like what you like no matter what anyone else says and to stand up for it). If they do, I don't think that that's fair. I remember when Billie essentially labeled all Republicans "traitors" in one of his Instagram posts. In the comment section were many Republican GD fans who were personally hurt and angered by those comments. Plenty of metal musicians like Green Day, if I remember correctly, for their ability to do what they do extremely well. Getting to the point, Green Day fans, as I've learnt from experience, come from all walks of life and all different backgrounds. Although some GD fans are certainly quite crazy and annoying (I'm sorry; it's usually the teenage girls), I feel that it's just asinine to tar us all with the same brush, and it's even more irritating when someone acts as if they're better than you simply on the basis of musical taste. A Discharge fan is not inherently better or more sophisticated than a Green Day fan. EDIT: reading a Breitbart article right now (yes, I actually do casually browse Breitbart and check it often for news). I can't stop laughing at how many people in the comments section are bragging that they don't listen to (and hate) Green Day but to "Led Zeppelin Overkill Deep Purple Dio Iron Maiden Korn Kid Rock Second Coming Monster Magnet Pantera". There's nothing less "metal" than insinuating that your music taste somehow makes you better than others. We all have different taste; and there's no correct way to listen to music. I've never once considered my music taste to be better than someone else's because the stuff I like is heavier and/or older. It's just so childish to do so. Plenty of pop music is great, and if we're talking musical complexity, jazz is up there with metal. Also, not sure why anyone would be bragging about being a Kid Rock fan, but there you go
