Chin for a Day
I seriously doubt that they will coordinate Geezer with a new GD album. They are two totally separate things. Just because Billie starred in the movie does not mean it is related to anything GD will do.
GenXIdiot
I don't think Geezer is due to come out at all, yet. I don't think it's been picked up. Besides, Green Day comes first, it's his real bread and butter. The album will be out when it's ready, regardless of when and if the movie comes out. jengd
Thought I had read somewhere Geezer was due out in the fall, but I think when you star in a movie, you have to sign up to do all the publicity at the beginning of the project? I agree the two things are unrelated but that could be the problem, how could he juggle both? Three albums at once was still all Green Day and very closely related, also all music world orientated, but this could involve him with two different sets of press largely. Can't see the record company being happy to have to take a back seat with a new album if Geezer sparked a lot of interest.
platypus136
kerplunk is a great album. well, every green day album is.. is billie joe an angel or another supernatural creature? love his voice ! !!
RedundantIdiot
This is what I think will happen with Geezer and the new album: 1: release date for the film announced and the film promoted 2: band finishes album and prepare to announce its release 3: Billie promotes the film around the same time the announcement for the album is made 4: film is already out as the album is promoted 5: album released Or at least this is what I think will happen, I may be totally wrong. We'll see.....
Popular Post grene cniht
I think you just can't put the release of a movie like Geezer and the release of a Green Day album on the same level. If that movie ever comes out, there's no way it will affect the plans for the new album. It's not like Geezer will win any awards or become popular worldwide. Not a big deal, really.
Hermione
Yeah if it was a huge blockbuster film getting loads of attention and requiring loads of promotion etc it would probably have an effect on when the album was out. But with a low key independent thing like this I doubt it, just a spare time project separate from the band.

Maid Meringue
[EDIT] that was fucking stupid never mind. Instead, how many movies do we have featuring any of the boys now? At least 5 right? I need to set up a "to-watch" list.

Beerjeezus
Do you guys think it's worth entering the IN before the tour kicks off so I can get presale tickets? I doubt it because the shows are huge, no way fanclub sells the good spots out but I'd like to know if IN membership makes any difference. 1 minute ago, BillyjoelxkidXx said: Oh I totally agree - bc doesn't interact much. True, they're more focused on playing their instruments than on the show.

I'm not sure if there is much benefit outside USA - having said that I joined IN once when BJ suggested an intimate tour of oz - there was no fucking way I wanted to miss that?

But GD probably won't tour here as BJ is starting a new band.

I doubt it because the shows are huge, no way fanclub sells the good spots out but I'd like to know if IN membership makes any difference. I've been on the IN since mid 2012 and at least in my experience, if you're outside the US or the UK it's pretty much useless because that's where they play the big sold out shows for which you might want to get tickets earlier. I've seen them 3 times and I haven't had a problem with tickets even without the IN presale (one of the shows was the Emirates Stadium one). If you get them the day they start selling them you shouldn't have too many problems. That said, lately many countries are having problems with scalpers, more specifically, other sites which use bots to buy massive amounts of tickets from the original seller and re-sell them at double or triple the price, leaving no regular-priced tickets to the public. From this point of view, I think the IN presale might be a way of making sure you get your ticket without spending over 100$ for it. So I'd say, if you have 15$ or 20$ (I don't remember the exact price) you can spend on a year long membership, go for it.
RedundantIdiot
I am so pleased with myself for slipping some Green Day onto my Dads new iPod! When he asked me to put his CDs onto it I sneaked about 12 GD songs onto it. I've just come back from town to find Dad singing 'aha aha' from Boulevard of broken dreams, while Mum was tapping her foot to Wake me up WSE! Those two were the only ones they listened to but at least it's a start!

AI, and then 21stCB when it came out, were on a constant rotation in the car.
