Cool story bro

Was that really necessary?

Demolicious goes at least some way to fixing it, everything on it is so much better. Still doesn't reach AI heights, very little does, but it's a vast improvement over whatever the fuck Rob Cavallo was doing.

Demolicious is an odd one. Sometimes I forget it exists, but when I remember, it always makes me very happy. I enjoy it, and something made them want to release that — and that something, I assume, was that they were dissatisfied with the trilogy's sound, or the public's reception of it. Or at least that's what I thought. Then they go and release that fucking Christmas song and my whole process of reasoning is completely destroyed.

I take breaks from Green Day for just a bit and come back to them and it's amazing that I still love them so much. I normally lose interests in artists quickly, or just like a few songs here and there, but Green Day is so different for me. There's a Green Day song for almost every mood and emotion, so that's awesome too in keeping me interested.

Yeah, I rarely listen to Trilogy versions of tracks on Demolicious now, it's all so much better and really I don't see how the band didn't realise that when listening to it, so I really don't know what they were thinking with the production on the Christmas song either. If they were just quickly doing something in a weekend they could've saved even more time and not bothered with proper production at all and just released it as a demo.

I'm on Maine and we went to a local lobster restaurant.  The restaurant only played bob Marley and green day. It was a very cool dinner

I heard that Billie and Aaron Cometbus had a falling out after the zine special about Green Day came out and posted several insulting tweets that were later taken down. He allegedly claimed that Aaron wrote untrue and personal information. Does anybody know if it's true?

Untrue. People (including me :P) have speculated that he might not have liked everything in the zine, especially after he apparently acted annoyed when asked to sign it (but was happy to sign other merch) by a fan outside the AI musical, but he's never actually commented on it so no one really knows his opinion. The deleted tweets being referred to were these ones from back when he used to tweet Green Day song info (found them reposted like this on a random site when googling but they're legit, I remember them):

9. Platypus was written for tim yohanon. And I prey to god I misspelled his name. Rest in shit you fucking cunt.

8. We were called "sellouts" for putting out a cd. Can you believe that? What is now obsolete!

7. Fuck off if you think we "merged" them together. Back then you could only get 1 cd. Look at minor threat. You're a fucking asshole

6. I basically met my wife on the slappy tour.. And yes we were cometbus first distributor. Your welcome Aaron

5. It just drives me nuts when people put it all together. This is 3 different eras. Period! That's what all these tweets come to.

4. First 7' was "1000 hours" Lp was "39/ smooth" second 7' was "slappy".. Got it?!

3. John went with it. I hate when people say"1039". Its 39/smooth. That's our first lp! Period!!

2. Smooth was a stoner thing between me and mike. We couldn't decide to call it 39 or smooth. So we went with both!

1. 39/smooth was named after my brother. He turned 39 the day we recorded that LP. Dec 29 1989.

I think some people took that he was annoyed with Aaron from that, but I think he just happened to mention something relating to him during his rant about 39/Smooth :P

Thank you very much, Hermione. I doubted the theory but didn't know anything about the tweets :)

I was listening to "Waiting" today and I hadn't listened to the song in such a long time. It felt great listening to it for some reason. So great that I had this look on my face:

Then my dad walked by and said "What the hell are you doing?"

I'm going to listen to "D.U.I." on my 21st birthday while I'm chugging chocolate milk. Not the low fat or fat free kind of chocolate milk either... The use whole white milk and mix with as much Hershey's syrup as you desire kind of chocolate milk. Then I'll go out driving. :D

I was at Penn Station (the sub shop, not the train station) the other night and they played, strangely, the musical cast version of American Idiot. I've heard GD songs on muzak plenty of times, but the musical version? It was interesting!

I"m curious what song was it?!

Today morning I heard State of Shock on radio which really surprised me and then they played Working Class Hero just minutes later. Needless to say this made my morning way more bearable.

Ok, I've been thinking about this for a while and I need to get it out.

i have been contemplating writing a story/Fanfic about the American Idiot album. So this story would obviously be based on St. Jimmy/Jesus of Suburbia and his struggles with fitting in and so on.

Seeing each track on the album as a chapter the lineup would look something like this

1. American Idiot
2. Jesus of Suburbia
Part 1- Jesus of Suburbia
Part 2- City of the Damned
Part 3- I Don't Care
Part 4- Dearly Beloved
Part 5- Tales from another Broken Home
3. Holiday
4. Boulevard of Broken Dreams
5. Are we the Waiting
6. St. Jimmy
7. Give me Novacaine
8. She's a Rebel
9. Extraordinary Girl
10. Letterbomb
11. Wake me up when September ends
12. Homecoming
Part 1- Death of St. Jimmy
Part 2- East 12th Street
Part 3- Nobody likes you!
Part 4- a Rock and Roll Girlfriend
Part 5- We are coming home again.
13. Whatsername

Each chapter is based of the song so I will be listening to a lot of music

tell me what you think guys/gals and will continue and elaborate more into how I will convey the message of each song into a chapter.

Btw in on Australian Eastern Standard time so I will not reply immediately sometimes... If you want you can figure your time zones out with mine go right ahead and have fun.

another quick thing if u want to have a look at my writing style search up

'Aydan Leroux Wattpad' on Google. ;p

Otaku, I think it's a good idea! I often thought about writing something like that, but for a reason or another I never did it.

She, thanks. I really don't know if I should do it though because I'm writing 2 books at once and also have another and the Green Day Story in my head.

But anyway so like the lyrics in the album the story would go from St Jimmy/Jesus of Suburbia having parties, doing drugs, drinking alcohol and having sex to leaving his home town, then rethinking his life and looking back (Boulevard of broken Dreams) to even getting so low that Jesus of Suburbia asks Jimmy to kill him off (Give me Novacaine) but then his works starts to get brighter when he meets Whatsername and completely falls in love with her giving him a reason to live.

That's a basic plot outline. So yeah. Tell me if I should change anything.

It's been months since I actually sat down and listened to Green Day, I just went through Insomniac and now I'm on Kerplunk, halfway through Christy Road...fuck, it's been too long. They're just so fucking great.

Oh God, good luck with them! XD

I think it's good and I so like the part where Jasus of Suburbia asks Jimmy to kill him off. It's so angst, but I didn't expected otherwise.

I think writing that story would be a good idea.

I think about things like, what happened after he went back?  What ever became of Jimmy/Johnny?
