20 years? You guys are beasts. Ive been a fan for like 5 years now, still feels a lot. Are we the waiting kicks ass. Thats a song i listen to when im high along with stay the night reading live, that solo in the middle is so sexy, also king for a day optimus alive

When I heard Dookie back in 1994 I wasn't a kid in high school.  I was in my 20's and had to work full time to pay for life and school debt, so I could never get time off. I even worked 2 jobs for awhile. It's been that way ever since. That's just the way it goes. You have to prioritize what's important amd needed at the time. But I still have hope that they might come close during a time when I can have a break, time to travel and be able to afford it, as I live in a small town in the middle of nowhere and would have to drive or fly hours to see them and probably get a hotel room.

Are We The Waiting hasn't always been one of my favorites, but as I grow older, I appreciate it more and more. It applies to my life often.

Also, it now holds a special place in my heart after finally seeing it live in Cleveland. I posted a Snapchat containing the lyrics while I was sleeping on the street — it was one of the few social media posts, possibly the only one, I posted containing lyrics — and I never expected them to actually play it. It was a great surprise! I guess I can forgive Billie for fucking up the words. :P

1000 hours competes with fuck time in being uncomfortable.I used to think fuck time was result of midlife crisis but now i think it's just going back to roots.

Are we the Waiting is probably my favorite from the album. It just hits home right in all the right sore spots, and the meaning of the lyrics change depending on how you read them.

Thats so much fun to read this kind of life style, very unusual for my country. At least you live in america or europe, so you have a reasonable chancec to see them. No chance for me

Well midlife crisis means looking back and trying to relive your youth so you're right. :P

Yesterday, I was listening to a local classic rock station.  The alternative station has no range so it was the only station I could get in.  They played She.  Afterwards, the DJ said something along the lines of: "Green Day is a new Rock Hall Inductee and you think they would have had a new album lined up.  But, they said they have 4 or 5 songs and they are taking their time.  I guess it is good to be king"

I loved that he said it is good to be king.

I hate it when people call Billie Joe "the guy from green day " i know a lot of it comes from their ego but i can't stand it.It bugs me.

Well he is the guy from greenday. I call him that pretty often because majority of people doesn't know his name and i can't be bothered explaining who he is.

Agreed! Although the subject matter of the lyrics diminishes the cuteness somewhat

I listen to a song like Homecoming and get so fucking excited about what this band can do. It's so fucking good. Then I listen to the Christmas song and think about some of the trilogy songs and think DAMMIT GREEN DAY! It's an exercise in understanding where @Céadóg is coming from.

Knew you'd see sense eventually.

I've been doing this lately, too, especially with the songs from American Idiot, but really with any songs that are non-trilogy. It's such an odd feeling.

Yesterday hubby and I watched this old movie called The Astronaut's Wife.  It starred Johnny Depp and Charlize Theron.  In the film Johnny's hair was dyed blonde.  There were some scenes where he looked just like Billie, especially one where he was laying on a bed.  I don't think they really look alike, but in this movie, they really did resemble each other.  Has anyone else seen it?

Demolicious goes at least some way to fixing it, everything on it is so much better. Still doesn't reach AI heights, very little does, but it's a vast improvement over whatever the fuck Rob Cavallo was doing.

I was at Penn Station (the sub shop, not the train station) the other night and they played, strangely, the musical cast version of American Idiot. I've heard GD songs on muzak plenty of times, but the musical version? It was interesting!
