Libertine Angel
I'm listening to Nimrod and it just reminded me that everything about Reject gives it a fucking badass attitude.
Chin for a Day
To counteract a post above, Nightlife came on rotation at the gym today, and I liked it.
Haushinka!
I'd totally approve of a Nimrod-esque album for their next one.
Beerjeezus
To counteract a post above, Nightlife came on rotation at the gym today, and I liked it.It's so funny. I always enjoy it just for the laughs. What are those noises around 2:03 in "Android"?Toilet flushing. My theory is that it symbolises the wasted (down the drain) life. I'm listening to Nimrod and it just reminded me that everything about Reject gives it a fucking badass attitude.I love that song. It's a shame it's never been played live and is so overlooked.
Libertine Angel
I love that song. It's a shame it's never been played live and is so overlooked. They've only just started playing Stuart & The Ave, maybe in 2017 they'll start playing Reject and Uptight.

Yesterday's show gave me more hope that I'll one day hear my favorite old songs live. I love Uptight so so much.

I've always wanted to hear 409 In Your Coffeemaker live, Sweet Children played it so I'm hoping one day I'll see Green Day do it.

Libertine Angel
Green Day played it in Irving Plaza 2012 so there's a chance - it's not so super rare as Stuart. I'd forgotten that! Damn, all this talk of them playing live (and the fact that I'm listening to the HoB gig right now) makes me want to see them RIGHT NOW.

When I learned there was a show last night first thing I felt was happiness mixed with envy. I want to see them at a smaller venue. I've been waiting for about 5 years now so I'm really desperate to see them now. Reading through the Gilman thread hurts

Reading through the Gilman thread hurts Yeah, I know I was damn lucky to be at Brixton but I still want to see them somewhere really tiny, like when the Foxboro Hot Tubs played The Garage (I was 12 and it was a Sunday night, my parents wouldn't let me go no matter how awesome it would've been).

It's a pity though, must've been a show of a lifetime. Seeing FBHT is almost as good as seeing Green Day at a small venue imo.

Honestly I'd love to see them withought having to smell beer in my hair for a week so no problem

It's not exactly nice, but it's part of the package.

Libertine Angel
The craziness is something I'd miss about them, but I personally don't really need that for a good gig experience. Yeah, it's definitely not imperative for them to be trashed in order to put on a good show.
Beerjeezus
Yeah, it's definitely not imperative for them to be trashed in order to put on a good show.A fact is that that's what is usually expected from them, so I guess it's not easy to balance the craziness and keep it different from a Green Day show withought acting it so it doesn't look strained.
Hermione
It was strictly over 18s and they double checked everyone's ID (first when getting a wristband and again going in) so they wouldn't have let you in Jimmy, so don't feel bad you didn't try. And yeah being drunk isn't the important thing about Foxboro shows, the real key thing about it is that they all really get into character. I don't think it comes across as much in videos, particularly as a lot of the banter etc between songs doesn't get recorded, but they totally get into their alter egos and you almost forget it's the same people, and it seems completely natural rather than forced. Their personalities and the dynamics between them are different (like, Billie IS the Rev and never stops talking and acting like him with his 60s slang and crazy preacher act and all his other antics, Mike is a badass wearing sunglasses and arriving on stage smoking and Tre is actually the most sane person keeping things going while making the odd joke, Jason W is more fun, Kevin is a total rockstar and Jason F is kind of low key, and they switch instruments and spend time experimenting with instrumentals and all kinds of other stuff). It's already an entirely different band and entirely different show, whether they're drunk or not or throwing beer or water is almost irrelevant imo since it's not really where the craziness comes from.

Oh no, it's over 18? Because of the alcohol or why? I'd love to go to a FBHT show, it seems to be so crazy and amazing... But I haven't any chance anyway, they'll never come to my country. I'd like to live anywhere else (Oakland ) to visit little shows like that, here isn't any music scene.
