Haushinka!
After watching this for the first time in years, I'm reminded that it's by far my favorite performance of Good Riddance. So epic <3
Jirachi
Sadly if the past is anything to go by that's probably their exact thought process. Breakdown came after a 5 year wait and it was enormous. Personally at this point they could wait 10 years and then release a 15 minute EP of straight up punk songs and I'd be happy as long as it was good. To be fair I can kinda see where they're coming from with the mentality. Them taking a huge break and then just releasing 10 songs could make some people feel like the wait wasnt worth it and they really want most of the fans to feel like the wait was worth it. I think the trilogy was mostly trying to please everyone, Uno was to please people who want simpler songs, Dos was to please people who prefer the garage type sound and Tre was trying to appeal to the people who want more epic/long songs. They're trying to please all the fans and want the albums to be long enough to make people feel like the wait was worth it

AlissaGoesRAWR
After watching this for the first time in years, I'm reminded that it's by far my favorite performance of Good Riddance. So epic <3 Mine too! I know some people think it's a cliché song, but to me, no Green Day concert seems complete if it doesn't end with Good Riddance. I love that song for both its intended and misinterpreted meaning.

Spike
That's très cool. ftfy Mine too! I know some people think it's a cliché song, but to me, no Green Day concert seems complete if it doesn't end with Good Riddance. I love that song for both its intended and misinterpreted meaning. I agree with this, but only if it's the electric version. There's something about it that works a lot better in the live environment than if it's played on an acoustic guitar.

I love that song for both its intended and misinterpreted meaning. Completely agree! Surprisingly, it's one single that never gets old to me I agree with this, but only if it's the electric version. There's something about it that works a lot better in the live environment than if it's played on an acoustic guitar. Yeah that's the main reason why I love this specific performance so much. That guitar sounds fucking amazing.

ollhjr
I'm really hoping that Green Day plays on Letterman some time over the next three weeks. It would be fun to see what Tre would do for his final act of shenaningans on that show. Also it would be fun to see if Dave would be able to remember Tre's name. It's hard to believe it's been six years since they've been on, and I would think Dave would at least ask them to come on. Seems like they are one of his favorite bands. laurie_black
Today I read in the Insomniac booklet that one of my favourite lyrics by Billie, Panic Song, wasn't written by him I'm dissapointed Well, it says "words by Mike Dirnt and Billie Joe Armstrong", so they are still at least in part written by him.
sara_gd
Well, it says "words by Mike Dirnt and Billie Joe Armstrong", so they are still at least in part written by him. Thank you so much for posting this, I just went back to the booklet and realised, because of the words in Insomniac are so all over the place, I was reading the previous line, so I was reading "All words by Billie Joe except Panic Song by Cheryl Jenets" (who is actually the project coordinator) I feel so much better now! It's even better than Mike also took part in the lyrics haha.

Beerjeezus
The Trilogy has grown on me. I listened to Uno yesterday and to Tre today and liked both. I even liked Loss Of Control, The Forgotten and endured Sex, Drugs and Violence (it's not that bad, it you tune out the lyrics). I like the melodies and guitars, the way they were written was good. It was a right direction. The production still sucks, though. The person who came up with the idea of using reverb deserves a capital punisment.

greendepent
Last night I went to listen some Green Day songs in a while. Chills down my spine. That doesn't too often, but is a sign that I still love this guys. Hope that I can see them sometime, somewhere.
