WhiteTim
But he was in an altered state of mind. I guess not many people here have serious alcoholics in their families and have not experienced how they can be completely detached from reality one moment, then OK the next moment, then back to WTF again. If they have a mood disorder underneath and mix medicines and alcohol, it's hell. The fact that he admitted he needed help is a big, big thing. So, in this case, being human > being "right". Who cares about being right, other than Internet peeps, anyway? Its not about being "right" or not... Being drunk doesnt make him in the right... I've had an alcoholic in my family even druggies... Since you bring up his being drunk do you know that when you are drunk your true charector comes out... maybe his true charector is a childish brat... Im not bashing him im glad he got help and is getting better but I dont do the "oh he was right he was drunk so its ok" shit

He picks fights with my mother, yells, and whatnot. But when he's sober he is a different person, caring and understanding. Alcohol fucks him up bad. Alcohol does not display the person you really are.

Seriously, each case of an alcoholic is different. My personal experience is similar to yours and I know what you mean. The sure thing is that you can't make a "medical report" to people you don't know at all through the internet.
Iva
I didn't say that being drunk was making Billie right, I tried to imply that a bunch of Internet users need to let the whole concept of THEM being right go in cases of serious substance abuse. It's somewhat uncomfortable to dissect one person's personal struggle to the point of being right or not, knowing what was going through his mind and what wasn't. My cousin almost killed my aunt and he got to the point where he was sent to jail in December, for only six months and only for the attack where he randomly fired an illegally-owned gun, so I know what I'm talking about. I might be straight-edge myself, but I've had my own share of alcoholics. The "true character comes out" thing is applicable only for people who live pretending and who then, well, don't pretend. Otherwise, a Mr. Hyde kind of a persona comes out. In cases of downright psychotic people (my cousin is one of those), they get violent. And I have solid knowledge of psychology, far further than popular myths quoted here. halfempty, I'm really, really sorry that you're going through this with your dad.

halfempty
I can only hope alcohol doesn't represent the true person. Thanks though.

My opinion of it is Billie was wrong for lashing out period the "he was drunk" excuse is just old and lame and way too overplayed... But that's just my opinion im not trying to be right or wrong or force people into changing their opinion on the matter

But that's just my opinion im not trying to be right or wrong or force people into changing their opinion on the matter I think this discussion is pretty pointless because we don´t know Billie´s character so no one can prove he´s right. I think one´s drunken behaviour depends on the current mood. You know, people just don't behave the same every time they get drunk.

Slydren
The trilogy needed more distortion and less tambourine. Also the lyrics are bollocks. Lyrics sound like they were came up with in 20 minutes.
Iva
Yup, they needed a song named after your current username. I would listen to that! And given Billie's love for Olympic farting, bet he would actually write it.

Iva
It was a setlist containing about 60 songs, for a show that occurred in February 2013 and was private, for 100 people. Made no sense.
Annie, get your gun
Today I decided to listen to the Awesome As Fuck cd, 'cause I only listened to it once, probably And it blew me away... I didn't remember how great, amazing and energetic Green Day is live. I'm not listening live songs or watching concert videos ALL the time; but I know how good they can be. It's just that I heard people who doesn't like live music 'cause it sounds bad, well... too bad if what they like sucks performing live! On most of the songs Billie sounds just like the cds, and even better!; in songs like 21 Guns, Good Riddance, Going To Pasalacqua (and more+) I was so happy with my decision I listened to it several times!
Anaïs.
Every time I listen to "St. Jimmy", I'm kind of amazed that Billie has enough literary knowledge to know who Edgar Allan Poe is, considering his usual less-than-impressive command of things like grammar and punctuation. Anaïs.
Edgar Allen Poe is kind of a household name... You'd be surprised. Granted, I went to an ultra-religious school where practically no one knew any books that weren't Christian fiction.
Spike
Edgar Allen Poe is kind of a household name...I wouldn't go that far. I'd also be interested to know how many people here wouldn't know who he was if not for St Jimmy.
