Libertine Angel
Believe me, I love it too. I don't know why it gave me an instant headache though. Sometimes Green Day just does that too me I started making a list, but then I realized it'd just be easier to list my least favorite tracks from 1039 -Don't Leave Me -Rest -The Judge's Daughter It's hard for me to pick my least favourites, the only one I don't really like is Rest. I suppose perhaps I Want To Be Alone and maybe Dry Ice could be the other two, but I still like them.

Libertine Angel
DRY ICE?! I still really like it, just not quite as much as the rest of 1039 (aside from the others I listed).
Popular Post Haushinka!
Sometimes I have random moments, whether it's when I'm blasting Green Day in the car or watching their sets on YouTube, where I get this overwhelming feeling of happiness and I can't help but smile. This band's music has brought joy to my life for about 10+ years now and I'm so thankful for that. It's crazy to think that they were the first band I absolutely fell in love with back when I was going into middle school. Of course I went through times when I obsessed over other bands too but those were phases that came and went. Being a Green Day fan wasn't just a phase for me; they still managed to keep me happy after all these years. Now that i'm 21, I have even more appreciation for their music and the guys themselves. Even though I may not be a huge fan of their newer stuff, I'll always love and respect them no matter what and I can't wait to find out what else they have in store for us. Anyway, that's enough of my sappy thoughts for now I just spent the last hour jamming out to 1039 Smooth in the car, and it made me in a good mood, hence this post. Hehe. Also, I just want to say all of you on this forum are the best! I know I don't post often but I do know for certain that all of you are lovely people. <3
Iva
Dry Ice has been my favourite on 1039 since I first heard it in 1998, and that's not going to change. Pasalacqua and Road to Acceptance are close second, but...Dry Ice.
Hermione
I'm more of a The One I Want person when it comes to romantic early songs. That guitar solo (and I know people worship the Dry Ice guitar solo but I think The One I Want's beats all)
badwolf
I don't know why they didn't come to Florida on their trilogy tour, but fuck them. I wanted to see them. It's been 6 years since I saw them and they haven't been back since. Fuck Green Day.

They probably would have but since Billie spent a lot of time in rehab and since as a result there wasn't much promotion for the trilogy they played a lot less shows than they originally would've been planning to before those unexpected circumstances happened. Next time they do a proper US tour I'm sure they'll go there.

I think they skipped quite a few places unfortunately, the US tour got cut pretty short. Always good to be in a place that they're very likely to go next time though! youngreendayvet
I'm obsessed with meeting the band one day. I have to make it happen one day, whether It's through my career or chance encounter. They say you should never meet your heroes, but quite honestly I wouldn't mind them telling me to fuck off if I approached them because the music means so much to me that a moment of anger couldn't take away how their albums influenced my life in the past. I'm not sure if I would approach them in public because they deserve their privacy, but if one day I can communicate the effect their careers had on me to them I could die happy lol. Libertine Angel
So, a box of old Green Day cassettes has been unearthed in the depths of a cupboard, and contains: 1. Teenage Rampage, with the girl on the Kerplunk cover on the box, no tracklist. 2. Paris Theatre, 3rd February 1998 3. Noize Boyz: Maida Vale Studios, London, 11th March 1996 Lowlands Festival, Holland, August 27th 1995 Letterman Late Show, November 9th '95 Music Awards, NYC, 1994 Letterman Late Show, 1994 (no specific date) Radio Session, East Orange, August 1st 1994 4. Interview 17/7/02 (doesn't say where from), Live T In The Park 5. Radio 1 2000-2001 Any of that noteworthy?

I also wonder how I would ever react if I saw them in person... When I saw New Found Glory in Columbus this past year at a free festival, they stayed after to talk to fans and I walked up to meet them. They're one of my favorite bands. Obviously they haven't impacted me as much as Green Day, but they're still in my top five favorite artists ever. But when I saw them, I instantly froze, and my husband literally had to push me up to them and ask my two favorites for a picture... otherwise I would've completely blown it. When they put their arms around my shoulders I literally thought my brain was going to explode. So yeah, 95 percent convinced I wouldn't be able to handle meeting Green Day in person because they've impacted my life SO much. I know I wouldn't be able to speak. I've legitimately contemplated writing a thank you letter to them, so if by chance I meet them during the induction ceremony weekend in Cleveland, I can just hand them that and just walk away and have a proper meltdown in private.

Is it likely you'll meet them if you go to the ceremony? Honestly I have no idea. I live an hour outside of Cleveland so I plan to do some borderline stalking since I won't have any travel time to worry about. I plan on getting there Friday and wandering around the city a bit, since I'll have a hotel there that night. If I see them, great. If not, I'll live. I have a ticket to the ceremony, so that's already more than I ever dreamed of getting!

AlissaGoesRAWR
How much did the tix run you? My husband and I each got a $150 ticket, so $300 total. I was prepared to shell out $600, if need be, but he luckily ended up snagging the pair of $150 tickets over the phone.
