Robbie1039
Amazing amazing amazing. This is the best performance of basket case in all of the history of our good men. God bless and goodnight (I’m a bit drunk. Man did this video hit.) also, at 15:36, Travis barker talks so highly of a bass Mike gave him during the pop disaster tour. Hearing him talk about how he uses it for basically everything besides Blink is really endearing.

Also, this performance was just triumphant and perfect and I love it Also Billie’s huge tie and ruffled shirt is amazing 2
Robbie1039
Buzzing again, playing video games and listening to Saviors and I got a random nitpick with the song father to a son. In the line “I’ve made a few mistakes, but I’ll never break your heart”, I’ve always noticed the word “heart” sounds like it’s been stitched together. Idk if it’s 2 takes or auto tune. But that is all folks. (I know they’ve used pitch correction multiple times here and in the past but this part sticks out every time) I love this album still btw and it’s great to revisit it. I just watched these guys share their thoughts on it. They’re pretty funny! P.S. Fancy Sauce is still one of the main songs I find being stuck in my head at work and is one of my top 5 of the album for sure. 2

Popular Post stories and songs
Early April is what I consider my “Green Day-versary” and this year is a big one! My dad got American Idiot when it first came out and I was resistant to liking it at first — I liked heavier, darker rock at the time and felt like Green Day was too upbeat for me. But over the next few months and hours upon hours of listening to them in my dad’s car, they grew on me (or “wore me down” is probably the more correct phrasing ). I admired them so much for the political statements they were making and just thought they seemed like really awesome people. My parents eventually got me Shenanigans and International Superhits on CD and I’d comb through every word in the liner notes. I’d never really taken an interest in band members before and Billie really changed that for me, because I had so much respect for him and found him so talented. This is not the fangirl thread, but yes, I also found him impossibly attractive in all the ways. In early April 2005, I realized that perhaps Green Day meant a bit more to me than most bands. I’m now the age they were when they released American Idiot and it’s hard for me to wrap my head around all they’d already accomplished at this point in their lives, and how they created a timeless masterpiece in their early 30s. The AI-era version of them seems so young to me now. Part of me feels like I’ve loved them for 20 years, part of me feels like it’s been no time at all, and part of me feels like I was never even me before I found them. It is crazy to think they’ve been part of my life for two decades, but I’m so glad they have been, so glad I’ve gotten over breaks I’ve taken from them in the past, and so glad I’m here and they’re here and I get to witness them still doing awesome stuff like playing Coachella for the first time. I’m having more fun as a fan now than I ever have. What a ride. 1

I agree with this statement for the most part, the only thing is that I think Troublemaker should be on Dos! The other two songs seriously have the vibe of Dos and Uno, especially Troublemaker since Dos is kind of billie's horny era loll.
nowshesgone
IMO if i had to trade tracks... Troublemaker to Dos Baby Eyes to Tre (its really hard to put Dos tracks on the other 2 albums due to its theming) 8th Avenue to UNO (make Stay The Night and 8th Avenue transition into each other) i would also make SYT a hidden track and make Brutal Love the closer of Tre, with 99 Revolutions being the opener instead

That part where band sat in a room, there's a board in 3 sections for each album. Sticky back cards with each track name allocated to each album. Billie Joe is holding the last card wondering where to put it and throws it at board to see where it lands. lol. According to critics, Uno songs where power pop style. Dos, garage rock. And Tre, a mix of poppist and raw hitting. Whether you think some songs don't fit that criteria idk. Imho I wouldn't change anything, as it's Billie Joe's choice. A special reminder about the Trilogy is that they where the only studio recordings, along with Demolicious, with the band as a 4 piece, including touring band member Jason White as additional lead guitarist. The idea being to give studio recording a more live feel. Which was generally felt worked betting on Demolicious than the Trilogy?
uuuuuuhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Is there any higher quality versions of what about today or Puchyak fuck (both names are for the same song) They came from a phone message that was posted back in 2000 or 2001. I wanna figure out the lyrics and make a "studio" version but I can't tell what the lyrics are! Here's a link to the song if you don't know it!

I also fell in love with them through AI, and had the same thoughts last year of "I am now the age they were when they released AI, and cannot imagine being behind something so monumental". And I also feel like that album was transformative for me, like this version of me now exists because I found that album, and through that album the rest of their music, their ideals and values, and the fan community around them. I do think I'd be a completely different otherwise. And even during my extended break from Green Day land, I always felt like this - even if I wasn't actively into the band at that time, I'd still speak about them fondly and of how they had impacted my life. I am also glad I came back and yes 2024 was such an amazing year to be a Green Day fan where I got to experience things I only ever dreamed I would but thought they'd never happen. 2

I'm so happy for @stories and songs and @cris and many others of course. And if I'm correct more recently @Mollyluna, to find and have GD in their lives. I, like many others of course, have been with them at the start, but always made up to welcome anyone with love to GD land, whoever they are, wherever they're from. There's no barriers with music, it's universal for everyone. And we all love the bestest band ever of course. 2

When you find something during such formative years of your life, it really alters the course of your life, I think. My political views and just general values align so much with theirs that now when I read an interview them and love what they’re saying about the state of the world, I have to laugh because we’ve basically just gone in a circle. I love what they’re saying because they’ve influenced me for the better from a young age. And same with me too in taking a break from them — I couldn’t really divorce my identity from them even when not actively engaging because they’re just so a part of me. It is so cool and awesome that we were both able to get back into them and be able to enjoy such a fantastic time in their career and in the fandom. It has been such a joy to be part of it. 1

But these days with new music coming soon and the Coachella pictures everywhere, I have to say that the feeling ist still getting more intense. I can't express how much I love this band... If this continues, I'll be a nervous wreck until the Vienna shows. 🤣

Would love to have studio demo. Any chance GD?
