That Dude
On a huge Offspring kick right now and I was looking into watching the horror film they are named after. Haven't tracked it down yet because it's tag line caught my attention. "They were born to kill" - reminds me of Baby Eyes by Green Day and I wonder if Billie was referencing that or it was a coincidence. Baby baby eyes. Baby baby I was born to.............................................................. kill.
nowshesgone
Is it bad because of the whole "5 AI demos that may or may not have been given to us by the label" i've been thinking a ton about that B-sides disk that John Ro posted a while ago? And now they announce solo dates for Europe, I could cry 🥹 It's a good time to be a Green Day fan
Popular Post Robbie1039
Just wanted to express my gratitude for the entire Green Day Community for keeping me entertained and occupied, especially thoughout this eventful year for our boys. You’re all the best and I appreciate your love for the band I love. I gave up all other social media just over a year ago due to personal reasons, so you’ve all been a help in that journey as well. 8

I think I have a VCR somewhere, but I'm going to poke around the internet a bit longer and see if I can find it to stream.
Rumpelstiltskin2000
Has anyone else noticed this eBay seller in the US who seems to have multiple patches, guitar picks, etc from multiple shows? This must be why they sold out so quickly even though it was supposed to be one per person (at least in the UK) This is just a few of them https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/375738592704?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=w1okDaBiQyW&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=WxbrlRlGTE-&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=MORE In the UK we were told there were only 390 of each patch made

Cris.
I'm going a bit nutty here! I ordered the AI anniversary set through GD's webstore and it shipped on Wednesday from the Netherlands, so I really thought I'd get it on time. But stupid DHL sent it from NL to the UK because why not, I guess. And then from the UK to France so it took a while to go through customs, but since Friday afternoon it's been 20 KM from Paris, so I thought maybe I'd get it yesterday, but I didn't... so hoping for Monday now. But it's been hard to avoid spoilers. 3

I still find myself sometimes reading about it, and I should really wait but.. 😆

At the beginning I just couldn't enter the dedicated thread in here, but now it's bleeding into other threads too and I also cannot see Instagram stories for Green Day or Green Day fan sites And I still haven't received it! got an update this morning that it was ready to go out for delivery, so I got my hopes up for this afternoon. But then in the afternoon I got the update that due "exceptional circumstances outside of their control" they couldn't deliver it today. How hard is it to ship something for Netherlands to Paris? They are just playing games with my heart. 😅
Mollyluna
Successfully brainwashed my 18 year old daughter: she’s a Swiftie with no interest in Green Day or punkrock as a whole. But after a weekend of AI stuff on repeat she complained today that Billie is now singing in her head all the time. YES!!!👍😅 2 1

I just think it sucks that this person is making thousands of dollars selling merch other people wanted at the shows but couldn't buy because it was sold out. Especially the UK patches. There were definitely only 390 of each of those but this person has multiple of them

Also, cannot wait to see some of those limited editions Dookie demastered items being sold for x10 or x100 their original price 🙄
br41n_5t3w
i started listening to green day 2 years ago, 2 years ago my life fell apart. a lot of their songs I target to those events/the past I hate how I relate to just about everything like in September 2022 I lost my mom due to cps n wtvs I now target wake me up when sept ends with that month. yes its about billies dad passing but it still fits not as much now cuz my mom passed last November but I still target that song. some of the lyrics in letterbomb "its not over till you're underground, its not over before its too late. this city's burning, its not my burden'" or "She said, I can't take this place I'm leaving it behind Well she said, I can't take this town I'm leaving you tonight" I target to a specific past relationship same with whatsername, I target it at 2 people one being the person I target letterbomb to, the second being someone else. i could go on but I'm annoying as hell soo tchüss! Ja, ich kann deutsch sprechen
Cris.
Well I continue to be in my Green Day isolation ward trying to avoid AI Anniversary spoilers while I am (still! 😤) waiting for my boxset. On the flip side of things, last Friday I finally got around to listening to the demos from the Nimrod 25th Anniversary while waiting, and I am completely obsessed with Black Eyeliner. Every time I listen to it I replay it a few times, and then move on for a bit, but like half an hour later I'm like "god, I want to listen to it again!" so I go back. What an absolutely beautiful song! It's just perfect, all of it, it's amazing! How did it not make it into the album?! I feel it would have been my favorite song in Nimrod, and there are a lot of good songs in Nimrod. At the same time though, I'm happy it didn't make it into the album because then we wouldn't have Church on Sunday, which I also adore. So things happening the way they did was perfect. But really, I just wonder why they decided not to put it in the album. All those times I've said I went on a sabbatical from Green Day for ten years until last November, I wish someone had sat me down and made me listen to this immediately So if there's anyone out there who hasn't heard this song yet, this is that message for you. Stop whatever you are doing and listen to Black Eyeliner. You are welcome. Ode to Black Eyeliner over (for now).
Popular Post solongfromthestars
I'm at a Sum 41 show and All the Time just played as part of the pre show playlist... and people were singing along! Doesn't surprise me that a Nimrod song is on the playlist because I know Deryck loves Nimrod, but I'm amazed people were singing. Haven't heard them singing anything else.

I'm honestly surprised all the time hasn't been pulled out since nimrod/pop disaster tour, it would be a really good crowd interaction song

solongfromthestars
American Idiot and Basket Case also played! Sum 41 have good taste. You know when some people seem more excited about Bohemian Rhapsody than Green Day? I was that person when American Idiot started. 😂 Regret to report that All the Time didn't win though... people sang much louder to Misery Business and All the Small Things. Anyway, won't go on about it since it's not the right thread, but Sum 41 were amazing. I got the kind of bittersweet closure that people described on the Saviors Tour.
