I share a birthday with Hitler:ermm:

My birthday is the day he was "elected" into power. And also the day Gandhi was assassinated. :S

Obviously not in the same year as either of those but...yeah.

To make this Green Day related: my birthday is closest to Dookie's. Which will be 22 on its next birthday!

Late to the party, but I also don't like Insomniac, actually I have listen to that album, probably just like 4 times in my almost 12 years of being a fan :P

I actually love the fact that I don't like Insomniac :bunny:, I feel like a part of a rare species lol, cause everyone is like "Omg what?! You don't like that album, that album is God, you're not a fan!" Hahaha that makes me happy :D

A lot of the time I forget Insomniac even exists, if we're discussing songs that get lost in the brain matter. I honestly couldn't even name the tracklist off the top of my head and I listen to it even less than the Trilogy 😕 Oops? My go-to albums when I want to listen to Green Day, in order: Warning, Nimrod/RevRad, Dookie, 21CB. I rarely actually listen to AI from beginning to end.

:P I love Insomniac. It's short, fast, catchy, dark, crazy and distorted. I love that each GD album has its own personality; I don't dislike any of them, but rather appreciate their differences (yes, even the trilogy)

At least now I won't have to ask you every April, I can remember Hitlers birthday.

I share a birthday with Elizabeth Hurley, we are often mistaken for twins

My birthday is on the same date Kurt Cobain died..

 People were discussing forgetting about songs and I just thought I would weigh in. Didn't anticipate it would spark this, and I even said I barely listen to AI from start to end even though it's my second favourite! I also don't hate the Trilogy, though I prefer not to go near Dos except for maybe two songs. The thing is that those aren't actually bad albums to me, if you look at them in a broader sense in the musical landscape and the distinction is that they are bad albums for Green Day. They're capable of so much more, but if another band put out an album like Tre (my fav of the three), I'd play it to death. We're pretty spoiled :P

LOL I love people jumping in to defend Insomniac and not AI

I totally agree, my least favourite Green Day album is still better than any other album not by Green Day

I tweeted a very fangirly thing about Tony Vincent along with a small audio clip of his opening verse of Homecoming, and tagged him without thinking. Only for him to immediately like it and respond. This is a bit embarrassing  (also don't know where the heck this type of post belongs since he's not in Green Day, but associated with them. Figure this will do)

I'd love to see another acoustic performance like the one that they did at the Bridge School. I wonder what Still Breathing would sound like if it was acoustic.

I think this is where people who love Insomniac get caught up. I'm not saying I hate any Green Day record, or actually any record I can even think of by anyone. Not for me =/= hate, you guys. The beauty of music is that there's something for everyone, and that seems especially true of Green Day because I'm pretty sure you wouldn't have to look too hard to find a song that would appeal to your grandparents while Insomniac is there for those of you who are into harder/punk music.

I only listen to Insomniac when I'm doing a discography listen over a few days. If I hated it, I would entirely skip the whole thing.

This. Thank you!

I wanted to post this and had no idea where so this seems like the best place.

This is how much RevRad has meant to me as far as my own life and rehab is concerned.

I just had an hour and a half with my shink and the only thing I spoke about with her was RevRad and how I relate to it.

Never has there been a more important album for me ever, let alone Green Day.

And I ain't young.

Well that's great it has positive impact for you

Laughing at how angry some rancid fans are on FB that they're playing with gd:

"It should be the other way round!"

"Least I can leave early!"

Don't think some of them even realise the connection the two bands have, it's quite funny to watch

Now this is something I need to check out.

Update: This is hilarious.

Haha! Something similar happened to me except possibly even more embarrassing - I tweeted that I did a bit of American Idiot musical choreography when American Idiot (the GD version) came on at a disco I was tipsy at, and tagged the UK musical's twitter handle. They retweeted it, and Lucas Rush (the UK St. Jimmy), the choreographer AND the director all liked my tweet :tired::blush:

LOL I saw some of this as well. I shouldn't have bothered, but I replied to one that said "I can't believe an actual punk band like Rancid are playing with those washed up indie emos Green Day" with, "you....are aware that they're friends and Tim directed Green Day's music video this year?"

Wait, are they playing the festival together or is there more?
