He also writes about previous girlfriends - Adi has said she wont stand in the way of his creative process - this should probably be in unpopular opinions but he can write about whatever the f### he wants to imo.
Hermione
It seems Idiot Nation retrieves its information straight from Green Day Authority. Because it actually does I don't understand this. So Billie has been married for over 20 years now and yet in UNO he writes "Stay The Night"... What?He can write songs based on experiences or thoughts he's had any time in his life, not just now. On American Idiot he wrote about being a teenager coming of age and past experiences with girlfriends as well, the inspiration for a song doesn't always have to come from the here and now. He's mentioned in an interview that a lot of the stuff on Uno Dos and Tre is just his thoughts/fantasy (as well as stuff inspired by other times and people in his life). I see it as kind of like a "what if", what if he gave into the temptations of drugs, sex etc, the rock and roll lifestyle, what would the good and bad consequences of that be. But I mean a song like Stay The Night wouldn't even have to be a fantasy thing, it could be based on early times with his wife for all we know! He's always dipped into the past and his imagination when writing songs, they're not just 100% factual documentations of his current life.

Hermione
"What if?" Haha alright it's not all just what if. But the bits where he went beyond how far he's really indulged in the rock and roll lifestyle (eg shagging Lady Cobra and having "makeout parties") are
