So is there no screening happening in the New York area or did I miss it? :(

Yesterday, I checked Fandango and a theater in Lower Manhattan was listed for having the film.
I'm trying to find which one right now.

Edit: I can't seem to find anything today, not even in Philadelphia (which was also listed yesterday).
Hopefully the NY date will be posted again soon.

Edit again: Ok, now I found theater, but on a different site.
Landmark Sunshine Cinema right by the 2nd Ave station (supposedly)

I still refuse to believe that this is happening. I could literally have the DVD in my hand and I still wouldn't believe it were happening.

Thanks for this.  Hopefully it's true! :)  Seems strange that there wouldn't be something in NYC, but maybe it's yet to be posted.  If not, I'll be patient enough and wait for a DVD/bootleg.  NYC is spoiled and I'm aware of that, and happy for all the people around the country getting things they don't often get :)  I'm still happy to have scene Broadway Idiot at Lincoln Center with the producer/director Q&A.

This movie is going to be my moon landing conspiracy.  Even after I've seen it with my own eyes, I will never admit to its reality.

Somehow Rolling Stone is publicizing an Oct. 10 release date, citing DIY, which doesn't even have a date listed (other than the poster, which includes Oct. 15). Oh dear. It's like the Hall of Fame "announcement" all over again with these news stories, I swear.

I wish it WAS Oct. 10 though, because that would be SO much more convenient for me! :P

I'm so stoked to see this! I will probably have to wait til it comes out on DVD though. I doubt it'll come to my small town, but you never know I guess. I'll just wait and buy it from Amazon.

I'm going to have to wait for DVD for this one.   I hope they don't wait too long to release it!

Who am I kidding, it'll probably be another year.

Haha did I say that to you? In the theatre? I have no memory of that. OOOOHHHHH wait yes I do  it was outside with those one guys. right?

It's crazy that it's going to be seen again after so long, seems like an age ago.

And there was a forum upgrade in August that changed a lot of stuff. There's currently no sigs but you could re-upload an ava.

Awesome! Thanks for the info! Im guessing thats why like 10000 of my posts disappeared as well?

Does anyone know when tickets go on sale for the NYC showing ?

No idea when they go on sale, but if the showing is happening, there will be no online ticketing (according to what I saw on the sites)

So the press release mentioned that one of the Theater shows GD played when the album was released will be included in the movie. I was at the Toronto and NYC shows. I think the other two were L.A. and Chicago? Does anyone know what show will be featured in HLAHG?

Seriously, I think screening in coutries with big fanbase - like Germany or England - would be profitable. But of course I know it's impossible

My brother says he's going to find out if it's being distributed for cinemas in the UK at all even though his wouldn't be showing it anyway :P, I'm assuming it isn't. It would be cool as an extra thing but I'd much rather have it on DVD than see it once in a cinema, repeated viewing will be required.

Yeah it no longer counts posts that have later been deleted (eg all of general chat a few years back and various other threads over time) so unfortunately if you made a lot of posts a while ago then your count will have gone down a lot. I lost 8000 too.

i second this, even though I'd prefer a DVD release. I'd love to see it in a cinema with somebody who'd be excited about it  (sorry, real life friends :D) that would be pretty cool

What sites are you looking on?  I fandango'd the entire city and looked at the one theater someone mentioned and I can't find anything about it.

I just noticed Green Day's facebook page put up a picture of the film poster yesterday. It's actually amazing to see them acknowledging it , is this a first?

Maybe I'm being super fucking cynical, but unless I'm missing something, it just seems really... cheap to release this now. Like they're cashing in on AI all over again, after the Trilogy kinda crashed and burned. Unless there's a good reason it wasn't released before this, this just seems... I dunno. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad I'll finally be able to see the thing, but 12 years later?

It would be a great lead in for an announcement for a new album, in theory.  Unfortunately, I don't think that is true.  I think they were just able to get it released.  I will admit it is getting much more press than I anticipated.  So, maybe I will stay slightly hopeful, slightly cynical to be on the safe side.

I used to be so excited about this and now I just don't give a shit.

I blame John Roecker.

I used to be cynical about this, but if this actually comes out, I'll be interested in watching it, but I'm not too excited. Tbh, I watched Quatro a year or more after it came out because I just didn't care enough to get it sooner.

Guess what? Milking AI is all they've been doing for those aforementioned 12 years. :P

Better late than never, I guess? There's obviously enough interest to justify its release, based on the mainstream press it's getting and the social media reaction. Although the 10th anniversary would've made more sense for a release date, but that clearly wasn't possible.

I guess I stopped caring how Green Day's decisions looked in the eyes of critics (sell outs, copy cats, money hungry, whatevs) a long time ago though. No matter what they do, there's a good portion of the world who won't like it.
