MaraGreenDay
Green Day fans bitching about a Green Day show, what a surprise...........
AlissaGoesRAWR
Call it naive or idealistic but I can't shake the idea that they're using their punk rock image to sell the band (brand) whilst cashing in on corporate-money fuelled events like this. Just because other big bands have played corporate gigs doesn't make it any better. In my opinion capitalism is a root cause of a myriad of today's global problems and famous bands with huge young followings like GD shouldn't be for hire like some cheap wedding band. Hmm... maybe I should scrap the wedding reception DJ and we can all pool money to book Green Day... you'll all be invited. Kidding. Kind of. Green Day fans bitching about a Green Day show, what a surprise........... Green Day fans bitching about ANYTHING, what a surprise.
robinlovesbillie
I can afford to go....I can...but I won't lol. I know it's only because of the venue but I'm sorry...I'm a working adult with bills to pay. I'm no "broke" young fan..but I can never justify paying anything over $200 for a concert, regardless if it's Green Day or not haha. Uh, American Idiot (broadway) floor seats were $299 -- lot's of us shelled out for that with no problem -- or bought multiple cheaper seats to go more than once. What's the difference?! The venue -- please.

robinlovesbillie
Just another reason never to see the Musical. I was referring to the performances in which BJ actually appeared -- but whatever -- there are all different "grades" of fans.

robinlovesbillie
What's that supposed to mean? Just that I personally don't feel it's a waste of money to see a show/concert/performance depending upon your level of devotion. No harm intended. No harm intended. It's just that I wouldn't pay $300 to see Billie Joe have a wank on the Dalai Llama's head, never mind pay it to be about 10 metres closer to him warbling remixed versions of Green Day songs with backing vocals from the cast of High School Musical. After hearing 20 seconds of the soundtrack, I wouldn't subject my worst enemy to that. It'd most likely put me off Green Day for life.

Someone had actually "spy cammed" one of the BJA performances -- but it was pulled down so quickly I didn't have a chance to save it. If someone could dig up a link for that it would be wonderful! angry_robot
Actually if I weren't living on the other side of the world, I would seriously thought of going there. Imagine Green Day show without arrogant teenage girls... I would love to see them without being half-dead, dehydrated and smashed. And without endless screams "Marry me Billie!!!!!!" Maybe I'm getting too old, idk

Maybe I'm getting too old, idk I could not agree with you more. Although don't get me wrong, the vibe at these shows was not the normal "Broadway" vibe -- it was much more exciting and at times a bit raucous (for Broadway at least). Billie actually did a call and response at one of the shows! And yes, being half-dead and dehydrated sucks. As far as getting (semi-)smashed -- that depended on my particular mood that particular day!

And even then I'd probably leave halfway through.
Mozzabillie
They play at At@t park on Tuesday night November 19th. Dreamforce Gala at AT&T Park 7:00pm - 11:00pm Red Hot Chili Peppers, Metallica, Stevie Wonder, Foo Fighters. Over the years, we’ve hosted all sorts of great bands. And stay tuned, because this year’s artist, performing at AT&T Park, will be just as epic. But Dreamforce doesn’t start and end with the band. It’s also an amazing opportunity to network with professionals from all over the globe, as well as a great chance to reconnect with colleagues and friends at a welcome reception, partner parties, and of course, at a rock concert than cranks the entire experience up to 11. http://www.salesforce.com/dreamforce/DF13/socialize.jsp My hubby said we should go and stand outside along the pier and listen and we can watch the big screen screen too. Looks like I am going. I did this one time for another act (Kenny Chesney...guilty pleasure) when he performed there and will do this for Green Day! Great minds think a like. I have a feeling there will be a lot of us doing this since we can't afford it. I'm just irritated that we got ONE Bay Area (home turf) show and then they do another show that is outrageously priced. I have a feeling they have no control over this though. On a side note...I need Green Day to slip me in to see Dr. Wayne Dyer and Deepak Chopra!!! I LOVE THEM!!! (Maybe if I visualize it, really believe it will happen, and emotionally believe it is actually happening...it will happen!!! Hey it has worked before!!! I have read LOTS of Dr. Wayne Dyer books! "You have to believe it before you see it," Dr. Wayne Dyer.)

norcalgreendayfan
1100 bucks definitely prices me out of this, no way I am able to drop that much for it.
Guest
You guys do realize that $1,100 is not for a concert ticket, right? There's a massive, multi-day business seminar attached to this? For the seminar itself, $1,100 is a very, very reasonable price. If you think that companies are buying Dreamforce tickets purely so their employees can see Green Day, you're nuts. It's not a damn $1,100 concert; it's an $1,100 professional seminar that happens to include a concert.
