Green Day Related Bands?

Hi! I was wondering if anyone could give me a list of any band affiliated with Green Day? :) And I don't mean bands like The Network, Foxboro Hottubs, or Pinhead Gunpowder, I mean like bands that are very loosely affiliated with them, or bands that sound similar to them. And it'd help if they were good bands too ;) Thanks! :)

Well, they had Best Coast as their opening band for the North America leg of the tour (as far as I'm aware; I could be wrong here). They were pretty good. (But Green Day was better. XD) Never heard their recorded stuff, though.

The Living End! Some people know of them - some don't :)

They're Aussie and always hang out with Green Day when they're down here.

Emily's Army. Billie Joe's son is the drummer. They just released a new album a few days ago as well. And they fucking rule.

Mystic Knights of the Cobra. Lady Cobra's band. They're very...unique...I can't even tolerate some of their songs, but the more rap rock/punk songs they have are good.

Edit: The Wicked Good. Jeff Matika's band. They have some great tunes, too.

If you really want a band that's hardly well known at all, check out Far as Hell. They sound JUST like Green Day. They do Green Day covers on YouTube as well. :)

Alkaline Trio. Very Green Day-ish at times, but with a darker sound. Amazing band.

Fifteen- a fellow Gilman St band that Green Day has covered

Operation Ivy- a fellow Gilman St band that Green Day admired and adopted their song 'Knowledge'

Rancid- Billie Joe co-wrote and performed backing vocals on their song 'Radio'

The Lookouts- Tre was their Drummer, performed backing vocals, and Billie did guitar on a few of their tracks

Isocracy- John Kiffmeyer's old band

Blink-182- Green Day toured with them throughout 2002 and they became good buddies

Iggy Pop- Green Day recorded two tracks with him in 02/03 for his album

The Replacements, Cheap Trick, The Sex Pistols, The Clash, The Beatles, bands that Billie grew up listening to and likes

Screeching Weasel- Mike played bass on a few of their songs, toured together for a bit in 95 I believe

Neurosis, Crimpshrine, The Mr. T Experience, Tilt -other Gilman St bands that you see in Green Day biographies about the early days, or you see Green Day wearing t shirts of, but not really musically related.

I think you might like this band. The singer sounds like if Billie Joe and Tom Delonge had a son.

Howi, the singer's favourite band is Green Day. They've done a really good cover of Brainstew, and their music is really good. It's like the powerchords/pop rock sound with reggae  theyre earlier stuff has more 'funk' to it too its all awesome

I think no one has mentioned (sorry if someone has and I'm mistaken) Zebrahead and Rise Against.

And a band related to Green Day is The Influents, Jason White is in the band. Also The Big Cats, Jason White is in this band as well.
