You're too young and innocent.

Russell Brand is the one who taught the UK meaning of "poof"

That photo shoot with the dog collars has always been one of my favourites, just love it and they all look so good in it.  Brilliant concept, as you say, just waiting for someone to run with it.

I'm not sure I've seen that?! Where would I find it? I've looked at hundreds of photos and don't recall a photoshoot like that...

Since you're all talking about Billie being a good Samaritan and saving people etc, I feel like I have to share my thoughts that I had this morning 'cause they really fit in with this.

When Billie is talking about how he wants to change the world for the better, do you think he realises how much he has already changed the world? He's done so much, whether it's through his songs, or through donations to charity and raising awareness etc. Billie's lyrics have saved lives. GD changed people's lives - not just the lives of GD fans, but the lives of people in bands that were influenced/inspired by GD, and the lives of the fans of those bands. Music is soooo important to a lot of people, and Green Day have had a huge impact on the music industry since the 90s. That's a lot of people to have an impact on. Then, there's all of the things that Billie has done for charity. Raising money, donating money, supporting and promoting many different charities, helping to spread awareness of people that are going through a crisis, even physically going to New Orleans and helping to build houses after hurricane Katrina.

And then there's just the little everyday problems where he tries to help people, such as breaking up fights in the crowd, or sticking up for people. I saw a tweet once from this guy that said he had been on the same flight as Billie, and an old woman had been struggling with her luggage, and apparently Billie had helped her with it, like the gentleman that he is. It was so heart-warming to read that. What an absolute babe.

He really does not get enough recognition for what he's done. Just because he hasn't stopped terrorism or found a cure for cancer or whatever, it doesn't mean he hasn't had positive impact on a massive group of people. He does everything he can to help, even though he doesn't have to. It's the fact that he wants to help that makes me love him so much. And the fact that he's just so humble about it too. He's one of the kindest, most selfless people I've ever come across in my life. He is absolutely a true hero.:wub::wub:

I couldn't agree more, and I also think the very deliberate decision to stay in Oakland and run businesses from it too benefits people round about.  I think if he was conscious of it, he could become really big headed about and he seems to really have his feet on the ground, I think that's one of the benefits he gets and recognises he gets from staying in Oakland.  I don't know what he's really  like in person (sadly) but he seems so genuine, in touch with reality and caring, it's one of things I think makes people love this band.

Sorry, feel  like I am spamming this thread now, never been online as news broke like it has today but I'm away now, will leave you all in peace!

Also agree. But no matter what you’ve done before or are already doing, when you get overwhelmed by tragedy and bad news in the world, it’s human nature to want to combat it by doing more good. It’s a way to not feel powerless. He would naturally respond to whatever is going on right now in this way, because he’s a good person.

I watched the mayor’s dedication the other day from last year when they had Green Day Day in Oakland and I’m glad they recognized the many local businesses they have and the fact that they stayed and invested and raised their kids there. It really is the kind of city that if you were from and then became rich and famous you would leave, but they never did and that says a lot right there.

I can't believe they took one of the kinkiest/hottest (and most sacrilegious) GD photos ever and made it an album cover

Wow, happy to be able to access the forums on a big news day. Did anyone else get an error message when trying to get to the forums the last two days, or was it just some strange unexplained event for me?? I tried several different devices and was starting to get concerned.

I'm beyond thrilled about the greatest hits album, mostly because it's another reason for the guys to be out there and visible, and because of the two new songs. And the theme/merch is awesome. Now just waiting for Billie to freaking get back on social media. I'm convinced now he's been immersing himself in the studio.

Yes there was a problem for anyone (including me) trying to log in and some other stuff, I think Fuzz has it all fixed now.

Tre and Sara are in Mexico on an anniversary trip, Mike is celebrating Brixton’s birthday with his family, and poor Billie is breathing in smoke and ash in Oakland being the charitable good samaritan and pedestrian that he is.

The way you presented the situation made me laugh. :ga: While the others are having fun, Billie is the sacrificial lamb trying to save the day.

Of course he is a true hero! He is WonderWoman WonderMan after all!
Joke aside, there is a thread about GD's good actions. In fact, it was mostly about Billie's good actions. I remember to have posted there the Twitter message about the old woman's luggage.

Yeah, I remember that. That must have been where I saw the story about the luggage. I loved that thread. It was so uplifting to read.

OH MY GOD, I JUST LOVE THIS BAND SO FUCKING MUCH!:wub::wub::wub::wub:

It's definitely fangirl worthy that GD want to help people through that live stream gig the other week and Billies live stream last night. They seem genuinely nice guys

And I like Billies new hairstyle and his coat

Billie just did a live Instagram !!! .

Ive been stalking here for a while and just got so excited that he did a live I thought I’d make it my first post.

Welcome! :D

I have finally installed Instagram on my phone by the way!  I'm following Billie and Green Day, and staying connected. But I didn't get any notification, until now, for that live! Maybe I was sleeping when he did it. :ermm: Does the notification for the live last even after it's finished?

The strange event also hit me :ga: and made me freak out, because I was seeing on GDA that the forum was continuing to be active. I even sent a panicked email to the GDA team lol, and had a response that the problem was fixed. ;)

Oh, is it a UK or maybe Scottish thing, we call the black/ white neck thing priests/ministers wear dog collars?  What do others call them?

Do you not call them dog collars in the US? I can see why you'd be disappointed if you'd thought there was a photoshoot featuring the other kind
