Billie Joes Eyelids
I've had an extremely busy week & weekend but I so much miss peeking at Billie's social media and seeing a post once and a while. And what I wouldn't give for a livestream or Twitter Q&A. I think I'm having slight withdrawal symptoms. I'm really glad you guys are here posting pics and profound topics to ponder during the drought. And I hope Billie is really enjoying his down time. He needs it, and hopefully he'll come back refreshed and ready to go. He is totally off of social media right now, not even checking it I don't think. There are posts by certain people within the last few days that he normally would have liked. But that's probably a good thing, and it might be partly due to the deluge of "wake up" tweets/comments. Interesting that it happened over 9/11. I remember suffering from PTSD from 9/11 and losing a lot of weight over the following four months until it passed. I wonder if it affected him in a similar way. Losing that weight in eight months is not inherently healthy. Billie is small so even a little bit of weight loss or gain gets easily seen, but even though, @pacejunkie punk I think you're right. 3 hours ago, neverdone2000 said: Also, he has never gone back to the pre-2002 chubbiness which is very unusual. Most people yo-yo. I only saw one interview that asked him about it, and Billie claims that it was because he cut back on beer consumption. But there's no way it can be fully explained by that. Maybe it was just pure willpower and Billie decided that with the next album he wanted to be a sexy mofo. And he succeeded. He has never gone back to the pre-2002 chubbiness but I think he puts on weight in a different way in aging... and to me he has been through some minor yo yo but I think it may be pretty normal for a lot of people. 3 hours ago, Jane Lannister said: I was three. I can't imagine how scary it must have been for people who really understood what was going on. That's very well possible. Less beer and he started hitting the gym. The arms are the evidence - just compare his pre-poofy arms, poofy era arms and AI era 💪 I was in the US too when 9/11 happened, with my brother and our mom, she found her first real work there. I was going on 6 then. My mom told me later that's it the main reason we left soon after and came back to France. I was never doing as well as in the US, though! I feel you. This has been hard but I’m glad he’s taking a break. There’s always a possibility that he’s working on new music too which is an exciting prospect. Can’t spend all your time online nothing would ever get done. So while I’m climbing the walls, I must admit that no news is likely good news. Just one more thought on this topic: the line that always gets to me (it’s so spot on) is from Mass Hysteria: “Red alert is the color of panic, elevated to the point of static” I distinctly remember the color coded alert system and how it was at red every day. At first it’s constant anxiety and then after a while it just becomes all this noise and loses its impact. He captures it perfectly.

It would depend how much beer he was drinking I guess lol. I think the muscular arms/chest come more from the guitar playing than anything else, could be completely wrong if course! Talking about arms, it's not just the guitar playing, I guess. He wasn't nearly as muscular in his early and mid-twenties and even though some men don't have much muscle mass at that age because they aren't fully grown yet and gain muscle later, I am pretty sure that the amount of muscle he has today isn't a natural development resulting from guitar playing only. I think it first started showing when he was about 30 so most likely at the time he may have begun working out. Somebody made a multi-cam video, probably from Cologne this year. I was watching this a few hours ago and my first thought was that that Billie was pretty muscular : He's probably been working out, but we'll never know how much this counts nowadays. If you stop working out, you can lose muscle rather quickly. Green Day tours are already high performance sport for Billie, I'm sure that's enough for him to sculpt his body. As for me, I'm in my early twenties, have never worked out, and show quite muscular arms for a girl. When I put on I have a bellie.

pouty bitch
I'm with you guys, I miss our Billie so fucking much and I'm just so bored without him. But I'm glad he's getting a well-deserved break now, before he goes and plays some kickass shows in Latin America. I just hope he gets a good rest and has some quality family time, so that when he comes back to us, he'll be a happy, healthy man.

RedundantIdiot
Hopefully when the 'wake up Billie' people stop we can get some more Instagram posts and live streams. Right now I'm looking at the live streams from the recent US tour, which I've not looked at for a few weeks. The one of Mike and Tre dancing is still every bit as hilarious as it was all those weeks ago, the one of Billie in his underpants is also hilarious, but the one where Billie is with his dogs is even more poignant following Rocky's death. pouty bitch
Even my mam is getting Billie withdrawal, and she's not even a big GD fan. She keeps checking his twitter/instagram, then when she sees that he hasn't posted anything, she asks me where he is as if she thinks I have a GPS tracker on him or something. 2 minutes ago, RedundantIdiot said: the one where Billie is with his dogs is even more poignant following Rocky's death. I made the mistake of re-watching that livestream after Rocky's death, and it's just so sad. When Billie was messing around calling Rocky an alcoholic, he didn't know that in a few months, Rocky would be gone. That used to be my favourite of Billie's livestreams, but I don't think I'll ever be able to see it in the same light again.
Beerjeezus
I didn't want to bring this up but it's been happening a lot recently so I want to ask - is it only my wild Instagram recommendations or are there so many photos from iHeart all over IG? Seeing them has never made me uncomfortable, but now it sort of does. Just...no.
gaslight13
I just wish he'd post something just to know things are all good. Given Tom Petty and Hugh Hefner, I would like all my favorite celebs to be regularly on socials right now to keep me from worrying about whose going to be #3 (yes I do believe in that nonsense). Beerjeezus
Tom Petty is dead???? Also what a shame would it be to die in a three with Hefner. If I were a dying celeb I'd feel so bummed out right now.

Wow just heard about Tom Petty, how sad. But to put it in perspective he was 66 (still young but quite a bit older than Billie) and Hefner was 91, no real reason to start thinking of Billie along with them. pacejunkie punk
Shocked about Tom Petty. I was an OG fan back in the day, owned his first three albums. 66 doesn’t seem that old to me. Unfair.

pacejunkie punk
He’s fine. If he wasn’t you’d know (I mean if it was anything major). Joey posted about TP but I was hoping he’d come out of seclusion in light of any one of today’s horrible events. But maybe it’s best for him to stay away from it all for now.
