I love the fact that Billie's hands sometimes look so tiny in photos.

That's because they are tiny. I mean his hands are perfectly in proportion with the rest of his body, but they do look quite small :P

So I've never met, had a moment with, or even been that close to the boys before, but at my show recently I got the barrier. Granted I was way to the right where there wasnt much action.

But at one point in the show, Billie came over. After all these years, after so so long, there was merely a foot between us.

Naturally, I didnt cheer, wave, or even smile. My soul had left my body and ascended into the plain beyond human consciousness leaving behind nothing but a vacant husk. Billie Joe looked down at this drooling, corpse lazer staring as if the devil himself had taken over and quickly sprinted away never to return for the rest of the night.

Later my friend said, "I didnt know what to do... you just like, froze."

Guys I fucking NAILED it.

@Schlappy  Don't feel bad, that would totally be me. It was such a weird feeling being feet away from him after only ever seeing him in photos and videos. If he'd looked at me I would have just stared back dumbstruck. I still can't believe that was actually him sharing the same space and breathing the same air.

That was my thought as well!  As soon as I got to the venue I was like "he is HERE.  We are breathing the same air.  He is so close!!!" BUT... I was in the  201 section, meaning I was not close enough to make eye contact or touch him.  Just being in the same space was enough... kind of! :)

Ha exactly! Oh well, c'est la vie.

The fact that fans actually keep their cool around them boggles my mind.

You killed me while I was drinking my coffee!

I was once at the barrier, at a show in June in France, sticking with another fan I've met there. We were on the right too, but the stage was quite far from the barrier (still, Billie asked for the flag we were holding and we were even lucky enough to get it back! that alone is worth all the misery of that night ) and the couple of times he came in front of us, he must have seen me jumping and screaming like if I was possessed (which I probably was). I'm pretty sure that's why he never returned on the right side. Perhaps Billie is used to always finding someone freaking out on that side of the stage. :P

OMG I love your new profile pic, @Jane Lannister! Sorry if I'm late to the party, I wasn't online for a few days :P And the recent black-and-white pictures of Billie on Instagram give me pure joy. How can he be so pretty, it hurts.

I miss them so much. I seriously hope they return to Europe next year for a couple of festival-shows. Very selfish, I know, because I also want them to take enough time to rest of course. But.... they are a drug and they know it. Bastards:lol:

Lol my reaction when Mike came near me is waving and cheering or making weird faces because I assume he can handle a bit of silliness plus he reacts to it so it's totally worth the effort, but it's almost impossible to make Billie acknowledge you unless you're on the catwalk so I look at him adoringly but freak out less :P

@MMwhatsername thank you, I love that photo but then I see my own posts and think I'm you!

Normal reaction imo . I was totally awestruck looking at him when he was near me at my show, if he'd looked at me I think I would've died.

I don't know how people keep their cool around him either lol, especially when he's in rock god mode on stage. It's particularly mind boggling to me how he'll do a rant against phone cameras and people right there at the front where he can see still keep them out. Like how do you dare defy him?!

Exactly - I can't believe someone can disobey him.

The closest I got to Billie Joe was during my first GD concert I went to in August 2010. I was 2nd row from the barrier on MIke's side. It was insane! I would belive Billie noticed me because, when he used the water hose (he used it 2 times, but I don't remember if it was during the first or the second time), he directed the water in my face for a couple of secondes. But it was already rainning anyway.

And yes I did have the «OMG! He is here!» reaction at the same concert. I was waiting for my friend to arrive before the show on Place Jacques-Cartier. The concert was on Jacques-Cartier Pier, which is in front of the place on the other side of the street. Then, the soundcheck started and I heard him singing. My heart skipped a beat! Like I can hear him, but I can't see him yet.

I still can't get over the fact how close I was to Billie(was in 2nd row of pit right near him) I was pretty close to Mike too at the concert. I didn't think I'd even manage to get THAT close to the stage, but I did... it was so cool being that close to them in person. They look even better in person haha. it was still an amazing experience even though, I couldn't hear Billie and Jason as much. Mostly just heard Mike. Probably because of where i was standing at.

The closest I got to Billie... Actually I was standing right next to him on the street, that was pretty close  But my favorite moments were on the show.

You can't see me in that scene, but he's pointing at me and saying "I know you"  And his smile right before that, when he had recognized me, was the most beautiful thing I've ever seen.

And then was this:

And I literally died inside

That's so great that he recognised you!

I love how he always makes special gestures to the fans that he recognises. It just proves that he really appreciates them. I don't know many artists that love their fans as much as Green Day do.
