It's Hitchin a Ride. I'm sorry I can't link it but it was on the Facebook page of Green Day Live on Tour.

No worries, thanks!

I just noticed he's got a hole in his shirt, by the armpit. Change to red for the next gig??

Thank his voice teacher, he does (at 2:45):

That's so cute! I wouldn't have heard that's what he said if you hadn't pointed it out.

25 seconds or so :woot:

He held it for 29 seconds(!) in Gothenburg - timed it later on youtube obviously but I was pretty danm impressed there and then. I'm not a singer but I don't get how it's even possible.

He is absolutely dripping like he jumped in a lake. Was it that hot there?  T-shirt time! C'mon!

As we're talking T-shirts, and Billie is playing 21 Guns (even partially!) at each concert now, I must confess that I've never thought Billie would soon play this song live again, and with this constancy.

I had my "21 Guns period" during my first months of fandom. If I remember well, it may be the song that made me discover Green Day. I'm so thankful for that (it doesn't prevent so many other Green Day songs to deserve to be known and credited as much, but that's another story!) and I would like to share my favorite live performance of this song, just above.

There are several performances of it that I'll watch voraciously, but this one has just the right amount of vulnerability, tenderness, and precision. (I admit I'm going a bit drunk now :P) and Billie's little speech at 4:56 never fails to make me cry  because this this is so true in my life! Not that I don't like my work or friends, but who has the real thoughtfulness to tell me that I can get a fuckin' good time, and that I actually need it? When I managed on my own to see 3 Green Day concerts in the past months, it each time seemed kinda fancy to my family and my closest friends.

Well, these were the best days of my life, the amount of happiness I can't tell. And that, no one but I know. Screaming my lungs out, my stomach out, especially the two last times. I was at front and could see Billie. I cried and jumped so hard even though he could think I was a fool (I was really very crazy. Sang ALL the songs and ended with bleeding throat). The fans next to me thought I was pretty surprising and cool, we were all well together, but I was a bit concerned about what Billie could think of me since I was in his sight (above all, on Download festival in France which was my most emotional experience, 2nd concert, I was in first row), my past is drown in lack of self-confidence, but in the concert moment I just let myself go and the need was to express how crazily happy and free Billie made me feel. That is the most precious feeling I have felt, I can feel it again when I want to get into it.

I need it right now because I'm in a great turning point in my life. I need to clear off much stuff that are just obsolete, useless obstructions to me today. I need to keep moving and renounce to what I have been awaiting from my parents all my life, because as much as I love them, I'm killing myself trying to get their love when they're unable to understand the love I'm just dying for. I might have to walk a very lonely road during an undetermined time from now on; being now here on GDC, and having to listen and follow Billie and Green Day, is the most precious thing I do. So I want to thank you all for making this place be, and thank you Billie again because I'll never than you enough.

Where can we talk shit about other fans? More specifically fans that it's known that the band doesn't like.

I don't know which fans you're thinking of, I don't know which fans the band doesn't like, and I don't care. It's up to no one, even the band itself, to tell which fan is legitimate and which one isn't. I'm personally not on GDC to talk shit about anyone.

I should probably correct my speech because people here take things very literally. I don't mean actually talking shit about anyone, I just know there are some fans that the band/crew hasn't been too quiet about having a dislike for and I was curious if there was anywhere people talk about that here. I know Dawn and Toni Anne were both issues back in the day. There's a new girl I've heard the crew members and the band have quite a dislike for.

Just ignore it.

Thanks for sharing that 21 Guns performance (and describing your happiness seeing them, I enjoyed that. I can't even describe it but I get you, nothing brings me joy like Green Day since diving into the fandom last year  ). He still sounds good but hot damn his voice was something else around that time

@Kuromignonne thanks for that clip I've never seen that one. I love a good quality video, that was great. And stripey pants and short sleeves too (and blonde hair for @herewegoagain ) Nice.

I'm so glad that 21 Guns is back but I wish it were the full band version and I wish he wouldn't give so much of it over to the audience to sing. His vocal on that bridge is my favorite part. So beautiful. I wonder why even then they still cut out the last verse though ("When it's time to live and let die...") You hardly ever hear that live.

 I won't say no to the stripey pants or short sleeves either, mind. It's genuinely weird seeing him like that though, he almost looks like a different person compared to now. Realising I haven't seen many performances at all from that specific era/look... And I agree, the full band version sounds powerful af!

This thread is really for the act of fangirling, so if you want to discuss fans that the band may not like I'd suggest posting in Random Green Day Thoughts, or possibly creating your own thread if you think it's something which lots of people will be able to discuss in more depth.  I wouldn't recommend naming individual fans (for a number of reasons; see guidelines), and would instead advise that any discussion focuses on fan traits that the band might not like rather than naming and shaming people or calling any individual or group out.  With the warnings you've had lately, I'd suggest thinking about how to remain respectful while discussing it, and if it's worth bringing it up if you think that will be too difficult to do.  Oh, and if it's a really common fan trait/behaviour then there's always the unpopular opinions thread.  Hope this helps!

I just know there's a girl who's been going to a lot of shows that the crew/band doesn't like and a lot of other fans have been having bad experiences with. It might be nice for others to know about it since she's going to more shows and other people are going to have to deal with her.

I much prefer 21 Guns to OW, I just wish it were a more full rendition. It may be an unpopular opinion but I'm kind of done with OW. It was sweet when it was new, but it's so simple I feel like I've kind of heard it enough now (and if we're talking Les Skunks songs, Devil's Kind and Body Bag are much better) OMG I just realized an acoustic version of Body Bag would be so amazing live!

Don't talk about other fans. This isn't a gossip place to talk shit about other fans, especially specific people who are just random fans. The occasional reference to someone who does something dumb is one thing, a dedicated place for it, we don't want that here. Like SFS said, this isn't the place for it. This isn't the place for you to come and ask random questions about GDC either. There are other places on the forum dedicated to talking about this place.

I wasn't so fond of Ordinary World before I heard it live. Now I find it beautiful. But the fact Billie started playing 21 Guns is amazing so I don't mind if he stops playing Ordinary World now. There are plenty of new songs Billie puts great effort into since 21st CB era, if the band were to give full rendition of 21 Guns it would be great but require much effort to Billie (in addition to Still Breathing and Forever Now, these two songs I don't (hopefully) imagine he would skip and that are the most physical ones, would it even be possible?).

Meanwhile, I find it really cute how Billie does an acoustic, partial and awkward version of 21 Guns every show. He hasn't got prepared for a full version of the song but the way he does it makes it a very special moment with the audience. I love when he shows this shyer and more intimate aspect of himself, just letting loose and playing this song as a sign even when he hardly remember all the lyrics. He gives such a smile then. Somehow, seeing him in this mood after having seen him as the imposing RevRad rockstar from the beginning of the show is priceless. I love both sides and the fact he gives place for both.

This doesn't look like fangirling to me.

Speaking of which, I'm seeing the boys tomorrow and I'm kind of excited about it.

Today I like his look back then, at the very beginning I probably didn't so much :P The T-shirt offers kinda great stuff to see

But I must say I'm fond of the style he currently dresses with, shirt and waistcoat. We still see his beautiful muscular arms bulging under the sleeves, like in you profile pic, @Caroline Truong!
