The Green Day Fangirls' Confessions Thread

I'm sure every band doesn't like some of their fans since every band is going to have some annoying/shitty ones , doubt that means they don't like any of them (and I don't think that's what's being implied anyway). Billie reps GDA though just saying :P

I don't think the onstage/offstage thing is as simple as it being an act, I think it's more different sides of his personality/character coming out in two different situations. He's putting on a show because that's the task at hand but he's such a natural and charismatic performer that I'd definitely say his personality on stage is more a side of himself he brings out than an act he puts on.

I may need to hire a private detective to find out what he meant by this post :ga:

Omg, what the?  The final second sounds like that noise Tré makes at the end of his puppet videos

Thanks for that though, I didn't know youtube allowed pornographic material: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8CzcoQp6B5k

Idk, it just seemed like a reasonable reaction to this thread.

Lovely post, the second to last gif is my fave  And I totally agree! Still can't get over the fact that I heard him do American Eulogy live.

Some classic Mike

I remember seeing this video and not knowing who the girl was, until she pulled the exact same face Mike usually does. Immediately made me realize she must be Mikes daughter :D

 Billie's face when he poses like this is priceless. I have a similar picture as a lockscreen and it makes me smile every time I look at it.

That's my favourite picture of Billie Joe and Mike! That was from the show I went to, it was my favourite moment of the night when Billie Joe put his guitar over Mike. So bloody adorable!!!

On the subject of Mike singing - I wish he'd do it more, he has such a great punk voice. I love his vocal in Governator and on The Network songs. In the Lookout days the guys were known for their amazing harmonies and they sang together on most every song. That fell away with Dookie and now Mike just sings backup and very occasional lead but I'd like to hear them harmonize again just one time. I'd die if they wrote a new song like Rest.

I just love what a rock solid sidekick, wingman, all around dependable source of support is our Mike. It wouldn't be GD without him of course and Billie's lucky to have him as a best friend/soul brother throughout this crazy life they've chosen.

He's always jumping in to lend a hand at a moment's notice. Remember VH1 Storytellers, when a fan asked Billie about WMUWSE. Billie looks like he's about to cry so Mike jumps in and says, "This is God! Don't talk about that song!" Totally breaks the tension and everyone laughs. That's our Mike 💚💚💚

Word. I don't always find Mike physically super attractive like the way I do Billie, he's a little too dad-like (lol) - but I love that he's such a goofy, super genuine good guy. And their friendship is so heartwarming to witness.

Mike appreciation time!

I love Mike so much and I have so much respect for him. He's kind, he's funny, he's polite, he's so strong and supportive of all the people that he loves, he's just an all-round amazing guy.

He's also extremely underrated. I think some of GD's best work is by Mike - Longview bass line (obvs), No One Knows bass line, Stuart and the Ave. intro, the bass intro of Baby Eyes on Demolicious, J.A.R lyrics, Ha Ha You're Dead lyrics - I love all of it.

Also, I saw something about 'forgotten band members' once and Mike was on it, and that upset me greatly. I can understand that most of the general public won't know who he is because they may not know/listen to GD, but even some casual fans seem to overlook him. Obviously, Billie is the frontman so people will know who he is, and it seems like people know Tre because he's "the crazy drummer", but then Mike's just "the guy that isn't Billie or Tre". I actually saw a tweet once that said something like "I just saw the guy from green day that isn't Billie Joe or Tre Cool.":fuckyou:

Mike is just so underappreciated. However, in a way, I guess that makes me appreciate him even more.

I love you, Mike, you awesome, goofy, badass legend.

Billie Joe and Mike friendship is the best thing in the world. They met when they were both living difficult things. They needed each other. They will always have each other back no matter what. It's one of the reasons I love GD. I must say I'm sometimes jealous of their friendship. I wish I still had a friend from my childhood.

Tré became their friend later in their life. He has been there to support them when bad things happenned (yet, from the «official» story of Billie's rehab, Tré got scared and didn't talk to him / stayed away from him for a period of time, while Mike wrote Billie some letters). But it's not the same kind of friendship. It isn't a childhood friendship. In one of the Kerrang magazine' interview (I don't remember which issue), the guys were asked if two of the band members would be holding on a edge and they could only same one of them from falling to death, which one would it be and why. Billie said he would save Mike because he has known him for a longer time then Tré.

On the subject of Billie acting different in private and in public, it's normal. He may seems like acting on a stage, being on repeat concert after concert, but it's his job. Act like a professional when you're on job; act like whatever you feel like in private. I can relate to that. Most people who know me personnaly will say I'm very shy when I'm around people I don't know, even having a lot of awkward moments. Being bullied in my childhood, I don't trust people very easily. (I used to do theater play when I was a kid, but now I'm too stage fright.) On the other hand I'm a goof ball when I'm with my friends. At work, I have to face public everyday. It feels like I'm putting on a mask to look like professional and overcome my shyness. It drains a lot of energy from me to do this. Well, nevermind... I have admiration for Billie to overcome his shyness everytime he needs to go on a stage.

Anyway, I've found this picture of Billie Joe from the 1980s. You can see it in the movie Turn It Around. That's the picture I was talking about weeks ago.

The 1980s fashion! XD It's kind of a mix between a lion and a black sheep!

I love the Mike love  he just seems like the funniest and sweetest guy. And don't get me started on his bass lines. And singing voice. And one liners.
