@Strychnine. is that pic more to your taste? :P

He is 21-22 and looks about 12 but I swear there's a 50 year old trapped inside him, love him.

I love Cole and Harry Styles. Two intelligent, forward-thinking young guys with good hearts and souls.

Billy has just been so frisky lately. Sexy selfies, running around in his underwear, humping the stage. He's been a very naughty boy and needs a good spanking.

He's also a white feminist and, like most of the current Gilman kids, fakes having lower-class problems when he grew up at least upper-middle class, if not high-class, in fucking Piedmont.

Where does he claim to have lower class problems? Read that whole interview for a start. At least he tries having a positive outlook on things.

Few pics I took at the Oakland show last night.  Last two in particular for you chin lovers. :)  Sorry for the Jumbotron quality; I was in the seats.

Fun fact: I spent about 40 minutes on the phone interviewing Cole this past May and some answers he gave me, were quite similar to some stuff Billie said in interviews. I noticed it when I watched some old interviews with BJ. Cole seems to be pretty influenced by him, maybe cause he hung out with him/Joey a lot.

Here's the full interview, one of the best ones I ever did by the way. The guy is amazing!

http://genreisdead.com/interview-cole-becker-swmrs/

Here are the replies that are similar to something Billie has said - just don't ask me for the Billie-interviews, I binge watched a lot:

About rock music not supporting young huge bands and the comparison with rap music:

"Right now it doesn’t seem like there is a young Rock band that’s both respected across the board and also huge. In Rap you have that a lot, like Lil Yachty, for example. He’s huge and also everybody respects him. Right now there is not a band like that. The bands who are like that are getting older. They had these huge beautiful amazing careers, like Green Day who have been huge this whole time but also everybody respects them. That’s why we look to Rap a lot in terms of how careers pan out. Just how can we bring that back to Rock music. "

About not forcing political lyrics (I think Billie even compared it to writing a love song):

"I’m a firm believer that nobody should force politics into their lyrics, because there’s nothing worse than when a band is trying too hard to do something that just isn’t them. And that’s why we’re all very political motivated people, but SWMRS’ music isn’t necessarily political at this point in time, because to write important political songs it has to come naturally."

And of course, the ethos of Punk in the East Bay:

"You guys are from the East Bay in California which is a historical place for Punk music. East Bay Punk bands like Operation Ivy, The Replacements, Rancid, Green Day, AFI have influenced rock music a great deal especially throughout the 80s and 90s. How does that influence you as a band now and how did that influence you personally as a musician especially when you were younger and just getting into music?

Cole: I always think about how lucky I am to have grown up to just having those people as role models because so much of that music, what it did for rock music is, it forced people to be more honest with the songs they were writing and so I’m really thankful that I was surrounded by that kind of honesty growing up and was able to take from that. Not only just the music but also its…you know, all of those bands are married to the ethos of Punk rock not just the music and they all set this example of, just because you’re a musician, it doesn’t mean you can’t also make visual art, you can’t put on shows yourself, your world is not limited when you come from where we come from and so that’s really cool. It’s all about “Do it Yourself”-culture and it doesn’t mean “Do it alone”, but it means “Do it yourself” and make sure you’re making your own decisions. That’s special because a lot of bands growing up elsewhere don’t get that and they end up signing a bad deal that takes all of their creative freedom away and that’s exactly what you don’t want."

It was Max moreso on Twitter than Cole. From what I know pretty much all the kids that are part of the regular Gilman scene (which the Emily's Army guys all were) right now are upper-middle class and high-class kids that like to act like they are lower-class.

What does it even mean to act like you're lower class??  To be sympathetic to issues that affect the lower/working classes is just part of the East Bay culture, and pretty universal to liberal values regardless of how you grew up.  They can't help that.

Exactly. I've never heard any member of SWMRS "pretend" to come from a lower socioeconomic background. They're just very sympathetic to the people who are. And women, and LGBTQ. They're just "woke" as the kids say.😏

Just the idea that Max acts lower class is hilarious. Have you seen his blog about pomade, natural wine and prancing about in Paris?

Anyway, slight knee jerk reaction there. How about a nice picture of... Mike

May Billie never stop humping :D

Billie's humping instinct is strong and irrepressable. This is where I would insert a gif of a dog humping someone's leg if I had the time to look for one right now.

This is my current favourite photo of Billie. That doesn't really mean much though since that changes pretty much daily, but still..

People romanticize lower-class living because they think it's cool or something. Like eating ramen noodles when they can very easily afford $1,000 meals (Kylie Jenner for example) or hanging out in crappy warehouses, which some people have to live in, and then going home to mansions in Piedmont.

Thanks! Chiny Biliie  Love the first one too, that large smile behind the mic!

As we were talking about Billie being particularly naughty lately, he obviously didn't review his songs during his holiday (can you see the double word game here lol), instead of playing with live Instagram and fooling around all the time, he maybe should have taken a look on the lyrics of 21 Guns :

@Montclare what was it like to this live ? Must've been very funny! But also fucking cute according to this video

This video gives me such mixed emotions. Happy because I love the fact that he plays 21 guns. Sad because he didn't do it at any of the shows I went to. UGH and the end of Good Riddance always gives me goosebumps and makes me tear up  I LOVE THEM EMBRACING EACH OTHER, I think I gain an extra year of life every time I see it.
