I just can't fathom what big fans of Chester must be feeling right now. My heart goes out to them.

As to Chester, I don't think I can listen to some of his songs right now. I think I'm gonna cry tbh.

I heard the news, and I think my heart stopped for a second. I daresay Linkin Park takes the number one spot on my favourites list, before Green Day even, and I literally locked myself in my room for two hours straight, listened to Linkin Park and cried.

Seeming to be over one's issues means nothing. I know depression, every couple weeks I consider just taking two dozen pills and putting an end to everything, and I'm afraid of myself afterwards as soon as my head is clear again. People can look happy and still feel like they're in hell. It's the enemy within you can't beat, because you're your own enemy.

On a lighter note, I wanted to say a thank you to all of you people in this thread. I don't log in regularly, but I get the latest posts in my email inbox once a day, and seeing you folks fuss and coo over BJ is just so cute, it never fails to make me smile. Please never stop being amazing.

Funny thing is, I actually had a weird Green Day dream today. Usually, I rarely remember my dreams, and if I do, they're weird, but this one was actually pretty clear. It was at some sort of mansion, where lots of people with band shirts were running around because a couple bands were doing a concert there. At some point during the dream, I managed to get shards of glass stuck in my hand, which led to Tré showing up and insisting I bandage my hand (yep, this is where "weird" comes in) and actually escorting me to my room to make sure I take care of that cut. He held my hand until the rest of the band showed up, looking for him (for some weird reason, BJ had his RevRad mask on...) and everybody being nice and awesome. I think that was the best weird dream I've had so far, and actually the first time I dreamt about Green Day. Also one of the few dreams that actually made sense after waking up.

I've written quite a long post in the main thread for Chester's passing, read it if you wanna know how the news impacted the LP fandom today. But just to comment on your posts here: the weird thing was that while we knew Chester had struggled with all those issues in the past, he seemed better than ever. I met him a month ago, to this day actually, and he was extremely cheerful, smiling and bouncing. It came as a huge shock for all of us.

You - the GD fans (me included) - are extremely lucky that something like this didn't happen back in 2012. I'm really hoping Billie stays well. Both Chester and Chris Cornell seemed over their issues and sober. Relapse and depression are an asshole that seem to sneak up on people when least expected.

It's a worry that never goes away, not just for Billie but for some people I know and love personally. A part of me really wants to know what happened with Chester since he was doing well. Same with Chris. Dammit, I'm just mad about losing these people. These are the kind of people the world needs right now. I want to know why and I want it to stop. It makes me feel sad for the world that we have criminal assholes running the country and gifted, gentle musicians leaving this life. And I hate to say it, but also vapid, empty-headed "musicians" putting crap on the radio.

I feel the same frustration and there just are no answers. It's been helpful reading everyone's thoughts and comments though so please keep them coming.

Too many senseless deaths lately, we could all use a victory about now. Let's hope for something positive and uplifting soon.

I tend to worry a lot too, but all we can really do is make the most of what we have now and hope it stays that way

On a lighter note, I have to say I'm once again amazed by Billie's ability to turn into hobo Billie so fast

Hang in there, Tim

Don't worry, we aren't going to stop cooing about Billie anytime soon.

Yes, exactly.

Hobo Billie is never really far away, all it takes is a change of clothes and a beard.

Speaking about clothes, I do appreciate that Billie's garderobe this tour actually fits. Remember the vests and shirts he wore on an early leg of 21CB tour? I liked those outfits but they weren't nearly as nice as the revrad ones. He'd lift his arms and his shirts would go up to his waist, they were too small . He looks a lot classier now.

Such a precious moment

We've had some accidental #billiebelly this tour too (the striped shirt is guilty as heck of being on the short side - not complaing tho) but I agree he is looking very classy. I LOVE how he's such a carefree bum in private but so stylish and clearly loves dressing up nice too.

I think they make his shirts short on purpose. :eyebrows:

^ cute photo! I was just watching the ghost ship benefit with SWMRS and Billie acting like such a proud papa over Joey was so cute. Then Jakob joined them onstage and it must have been such an amazing feeling for him to be performing with his kids.

Yeah, I'm still worried too. A lot. And even more since yesterday because it brought up all the bad emotions from 2012, which was a very bad year for Green Day, but also for me personally. But the thing is, we can't change anything, things like that are beyond our control. So I think the only thing we can do is enjoy these great times of being a Green Day fan without thinking and worrying too much about the future.

We don't know what the future brings for Billie, we don't know what the future brings for any of the other guys or ourselves. So let's just make the best of what we have now. I think that's also what Billie is trying to say when he's talking about smartphones during the shows - because my theory is that he doesn't really talk about smartphones there, but life in general: Don't try to save anything for later, live in the moment, live right now.

It's so sad that it always takes terrible things like this to remember that. I'm still so, so sad and so, so sorry for all the die-hard LP fans out there @melissi_unicorn. I don't even want to imagine what you're all going through.

And now let's all look at happy Billie (to stay on topic) :)

To quote one of the first pages of Nobody Likes You: "Billie Joe Armstrong, born February 17, 1972 in Oakland, was by all accounts an adorable child. "He was real cute," concurs his older brother David. "Long, curly hair. Girls loved him. My sister's girlfriends just adored him. Even as a kid he had a lot of charisma."" Not very difficult to believe :D

Yes, finally got a profile pic.  Don't like to rush things, I was a lurker here for years, finally joined a few years ago and started posting and now have a profile pic - getting there  - new fanged technology, not sure it will catch on 😂

True  I love Billie's downtime look, but his revrad tour outfits have really been on point recently, I think I like them the most out of all the ones he ever wore.
