I loved it when Billie used to tell stories at shows. He should do "Story time with Billie Joe" and just talk about loads of random shit that's happened to him.

I would love to have him write an autobiography. Or for all three of them to write a GD history with lots of stories

He's just a disgusting, lovable little man that feels at home with his fans, I guess.

That's the most accurate description of Billie ever

I also loved the onstage rants. Now, we only get speeches about unity as he rolls about on the floor during KFAD.

Rolling about isn't bad, but I agree the angry rants were fun. But adorable, happy Billie > angry Billie.

I'd love that and I've been thinking about it a lot lately because I am reading Against Me's Laura's book and it's a great read... anyway I'd love if Green Day wrote an autobiography but at the same time I'm afraid it would be a bit too much information  I'm not sure how I'd feel after a hundred pages of Billie's pee stories!

He may have been drunk but I don't know that he was angry. All the cursing, pulling his pants down, flipping off the audience was just him being an immature punk kid and he, Mike and Tre all did this shit for fun. It was always with a smirk and a heavy dose of humor and what makes them such a fun band. They just don't give a shit. You never knew what they were going to say or do next. I miss some of that spontaneity in a way.

8 minutes into that video it's becoming clear to me how little I've seen of this seemingly furious era of Billie   They've changed a bit in 20 years that's for sure.

And obviuosly that rant and when he's ripping his shirt off and the like is totally unbelievably frustratingly steaming hot, but when Billie smiles the world smiles

Same. I think the last time we got something like that was Billie's "window picture" on St. Patrick's Day.

Another Before the Lobotomy pissing story was when he and his brother were little and his brother had a stiffie and peeed in his mouth. LOL I found that one by accident when I was watching random videos.

There are so many full concerts on YouTube but my favorites by far are the ones from the Kerplunk era, though Nimrod was a crazy tour too. They really didn't start to seem semi-professional on stage until American Idiot with the costumes and stage show. All the shows before then were batshit crazy. I still can't believe it was as late as the Nimrod tour that Billie jumped into the audience to kick some guy's ass that was being too violent. Every time I see that I think, "Ladies and Gentleman, Warner Brothers recording artists Green Day!" 😂 You wouldn't believe they were on a major label.

I've seen him call out and fight an audience member twice now and I'm shocked every time. Telling them off from the stage is one thing but he fucking leaps at them and security has to go in after him. Fearless.

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

I guess they didn't have the time to listen to him whine.

Where would they be without that whiny sleepy baby though? Best thing Mike and Tre ever did was hitch their wagons to that horse.

Haha, there's a gif of that that's always making the rounds. I see what you mean about the unprofessionalism but at the same you have to admire the guts, I mean it wasn't like he was fighting people for fun/kicks (for all I know). Anyway I'm really grateful that I get to experience them right now as they're so on fire and perfect and happy, but it would've been fun to see that side of them in real life.

On the subject of pissing, didn't he also pee down the stairs at a party when he was, like, 16 or something?

I will block this thread when we start talking about Billie's bowel movements

And the stories just keep coming. I forget if  we talked about the Foxboro Hot Tubs show where he peed on stage. Seriously, a nickle for every story, please.

I would be surprised to hear of a place he DIDN'T piss.

He's probably never pissed in a toilet. He just does it everywhere else.

Pissing in a toilet isn't punk. Pissing all around and on the toilet is.

I am so conflicted about footage and photos from that show because at one moment the Rev is smoking hot and shirtless but a while later - who am I kidding, at the same time - he's laying passed out in a pool of pee and being dragged away by his arms. It sounds worse than it looks like lol

But still...this is the one instance when a pee story seems a kind of less innocent. I remember feeling so freaked out when I saw that video of him making the band play one song over and over, and everyone looks at him like  and then someone goes "go home Bill, you're drunk". Then some woman from the audience rips his shirt off. Weird times.

I find it difficult to look at or watch any thing where he is drunk. Knowing what we do now it is very unsettling.

^^ Ditto. I haven't seen the stuff Jane is talking about but it sounds painful.

On a lighter note the 1997 show posted above is one of the funniest things I've ever seen, thanks again @Hermione :D

Spoiler

And not really GD related but Cole of Swmrs just took a piss on a dutch boat on instagram and Adie's liked it. It's spreading.

I definitely feel that way about the Las Vegas iheartradio show -- that upsets me too much to watch. But the FHT it seems like everyone was smashed so it was more like one big party as opposed to one person self destructing.

More of this please! Strictly for his health and well-being, of course..

Of course! Just for health and well being...

Not because we really want to see those inked arms :ninja:

Don't get me wrong, I love FHT and their shows were fun, it's just that one I talked about. Idk, watching this one felt like "oh my God, this isn't fun anymore". It hurt to watch, really. It is one big party, but you can sense that it somehow...isn't just a party anymore. He's going wild the way he always was at fht shows but you can see so many people who were like "wtf, man" and that's just so wrong. Not sure if it's still up on YouTube, I saw it shortly after it happened and haven't looked for it since.

I seriously have no idea why would anyone want to watch it. I was a cynical little shit back in the day so I saw the whole thing but I sure wouldn't have the nerve for it now.
