The Green Day Fangirls' Confessions Thread

Great. I keep denying my mom's theory about bands & fangirling. She claims that it's temporary.

See, I told her. And you're my proof.

It IS immortal.

I guess it's just time to face the facts... Fangirling is not something that you simply outgrow. But why would you want to anyway?? :yay:

Now I want to read a Twillie fanfic, just so I could write a parody. I'm mad like that. Somebody please hook me up with a link, ktnxbai. :o

Or maybe I'm just curious to see what kind of an alter ego depiction is occurring in those.

So, ok now that I've bared my fangirl soul, I need some opinions.

When I saw GD back in April, Billie Joe addressed the whole rehab thing during Letterbomb (i'm sure he did it at every show). He made a little speech about life and how it's not pretty, blah blah blah, and then he said "Life is not a fucking party, life is a celebration!" and for some reason that REALLY REALLY REALLY resonated with me. Like, on a deeply emotional level that I had never experienced with a musician before haha.

So here's where the opinions come in. I've been contemplating buying myself a leather bracelet with that quote on it (minus the fuck). Something like this - http://www.etsy.com/listing/150149066/personalized-leather-bracelet-hand?ref=sr_gallery_16&ga_search_query=personalized+leather+bracelet&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_ship_to=US&ga_ref=auto3&ga_search_type=all

Is that cute, or just a weeeee bit over the top?

I don't think it's over the top at all. If it's something that you think is really inspiring and you like it, go for it. I'm sure a lot of people will think it's cool actually, cause it's a really nice quote. :)

Gurl I got words spoken by Billie Joe Armstrong tattooed on my body forever :P go ahead and get your bracelet, it certainly doesn't make you a crazy :D

Ok I'm totally going for it! And, I'm actually getting a tattoo in two weeks (not of that quote), so I'm not really sure why I'm freaking out about a bracelet hahaha.

Alright! What kind of tat are you getting.

Aaaaand don't leave out the fuck, it adds beautifully to the quote.

It's my first tattoo so I'm keeping it kind of simple. I'm just getting the word "Love," but the "O" in love is going to be the American Idiot grenade. I'm SO excited about it... Though last night i had a dream that it turned out really awful, and now I'm nervous haha.

And I totally WOULD leave the "fuck" in the quote, but I want to be able to wear it to work, and I don't think my boss would appreciate that very much :(

It's a quote, it had to be there.

I know since last May that I will travel to California in September, but I'm just starting to realize that I'm really going there. It's in three weeks. I can't wait to visit California. At the same time, I secretly would love, by any chance and hazard, to meet atleast one GD member. It would made my travel more than perfect. But, lucky as I am, I know it's not going to happen... but I'm still hoping.

I was watching the MTV world stage performance on my iPod a couple of nights ago. I was lying down in bed, lights out and eventually I realised I was shaking my leg in time with the music really hard and sort of head banging at the same time. It's not the first time, to be honest. I was home alone and 'moshing' in my living room to the the Irving plaza highlights on TV a few months ago. I was right in the middle of ricocheting off the sofa when my parents walked in.

I get way too excited over Green Day sometimes.

Don't we all?

I remember once in high school my friend and I were walking home and this car drove by blasting "American Idiot" and I was like FUCK YEAH at them

Also, whenever Green Day wins any televised award I always stand up and cheer :ninja:

Sometimes I get so excited over Green Day that I can't sleep.

Um yeah, me too... It's really bad lol.

The other night I was hanging out on the computer, and Bryan was watching TV, and he yelled "Hey, come here!" and I said "No, I'm busy!" and he said "No really come here!" and I said "NO!" and then I heard Green Day coming from the TV and I ran out of the computer room like I was freaking on fire lol.

Speaking of excitement, the night I saw this pic,

2ytwrki.jpg

HOLY FUCK MY OVARIES

I was just staring at it. I had never stared at a pic for a long time. I just went around and kept showing others the pic & fangirling like " OMG LOOK AT HIM! LOOK HOW PERFECT HE IS " and stuff like that. My mom was about to kill me. I remember her nagging about Billie's tattoos ( she hates tattoos ) & I was just too happy to argue with her. I was grinning the whole night. I right away synced the photo to my iPod, made it my Home Screen & shared it everywhere.

And yeah, Kay, I couldn't sleep that night. I was grinning like an idiot the whole night & thinking how perfect he is. I could feel that there was a rock concert in my stomach.

My god, I had no life.....

Btw, I stayed awake until 6:11 am last summer after I downloaded Uno!, It was too good.

Fangirl Confession - I sobbed at that article :(

My confession: the night I read the article I spent an hour and half afterwards telling my dad about what I read and how concerned I was.

me too  a lot of times when i lay down at night i start planning for my next green day concert (which is insane since there's not even any dates yet) and then i get so excited i can't fall asleep for hours hahaha.

i'm so ridiculous over this band

Yes, and then there's the opposite of that... Laying in bed trying to sleep, but then you can't because your mind is going a mile a minute wondering why they haven't announced tour dates, when they're going to announce tour dates, what if they don't come here?? What if they're playing here but I can't go?? Etc... hahaha. Being obsessed with a band is exhausting!

Meanwhile, I have two friends at work that are equally obsessed with two other bands. My one friend is seeing her band TWICE in the next three weeks, and my other friend just found out his band is coming to Baltimore in November, so he's pumped. And they keep asking me when Green Day is touring and I'm like I DON'T KNOWWWWWWW!!!!!!!
