I can't believe its already been 5 days . I'd love to go back in a time machine and see that gig all over again. The fans around me were a bit crap, though. I wanted to spend part of the gig observing GD as I'd never seen them live before, but I also wanted to spend part of the gig going crazy :runaround:. However, the people around me were all miserable buggers who were sat down for almost all of the gig. I was standing up at the start but then I realised the people behind me were all sitting down, therefore I had to sit down because I was blocking their view.

On a more positive note, Green Day are the best band I've ever seen live- they looked and sounded great and they put on an outstanding display of showmanship. And I couldn't believe how fit Billie is- he was all over the stage. Someone needs to attach a Fitbit to Billie to count how many steps he takes during a concert. I bet he covers more of the stage than what people think.

Edit: crikey, you've thrown a curveball at me, I assumed that the London gig would've been sold out! I will see if Dad is interested as he hasn't stopped saying that he wishes he'd gone to Leeds. The London gig is a Saturday and its close to my birthday!

Yeah I can't believe it's all over for now and I went to Manchester and London! I agree with you though they are the best band I have ever seen live and Billie's energy is incredible!!

I bought the Hyde Park ticket as an impulse buy yesterday on my way home from London and I got a Priority Access ticket from AXS. I'm also going to the Glasgow gig which is on my actual birthday

I will definitely mention the London gig to Dad. Now that I've seen one Green Day gig I'm desperate to see another! I don't think they are Mums cup of tea, though

lol my hubby doesn't like them at all. My oldest son loved it on Sunday but he's not as bad as me he's happy to wait until next time they tour so I'm going on my own to the others. My 6 year old keeps saying he wants to come to one especially after I gave him Tre's drumstick. It's now got pride of place in our cabinet in the living room as he says it has to stay safe and no one is allowed to touch it haha

This is why you don't sit down. Fuck them, honestly. If they want to see, they can stand the fuck up. You shouldn't have to, well, not go crazy because of some dickheads behind you.

Exactly, I was the only person standing on my row on Wednesday night but I couldn't give a fuck, they could think I was a headcase for all I care (which they probably did) but I wanted to enjoy it to the full

Yeah, it's their fault.

I'm so glad Billie made everyone around me stand up. None of them had the guts to sit down again, obviously afraid Billie would yell at them again if they did!

We're not going to the London show. It would be too expensive (£250 for 3 tickets) and that's not including the cost of accommodation, travel and food. I think all three of us would much prefer to go to an indoor gig anyway.

Yeah, you're right, I should've stood up during the encore. But I didn't want to spend the whole gig standing up as it was my 1st Green Day gig so I wanted to spend some time just sitting and observing them without jumping up and down going crazy. People were also going back and forward for drinks which was annoying and someone had an e-cigarette as well which the stewards didn't notice. I can't forgive people for not clapping when Billie was introducing the band or at the end of the encore- these people shouldn't come to gigs if they are just going to sit there like sour faced mannequins.

And @jj0407 I like your picture of Billie

Yeah that is a bit pricey especially when you still have to think about accommodation, travel and food. I'm a bit nervous about this one myself since I'm going on my own and its the biggest show I'll have ever been to. I think Glasgow will feel tiny compared to Hyde Park lol

Idk if I want to see another show on the same tour bc they don't change it up much and I don't want to lose the "surprise factor". (Or maybe I'm just making excuses. I'm afraid to plan trips in advance.)

You'd think that but I think each show really is a different experience, especially if it's a different leg of the tour and/or a different venue. Like I saw them in an arena in 2009 and in a stadium on the next leg in 2010 and the two shows were totally different and totally fresh. So it would be great. I do usually stick to just one (and have never done more than one really close together), mostly due to being too poor and too lazy to organize it :P, but also just because I already feel so lucky seeing them once . I would say if you're able to see them again you definitely wouldn't regret it though!

I would be able to realize it but I'm reluctant to plan in advance for summer because I never know when I'm going to be sick but at the same time I can't fully let go of the idea. :P

I understand what you mean by feeling lucky enough after seeing them once - I do feel like I've been blessed!  I don't need more than one and I'm beyond happy but...dammit, you know?

I have to admit I agree with @Hermione. I was lucky enough to be able to go to the 3 UK shows and I did have that feeling before it that I would be watching the same thing each night but honestly, I loved all 3 and for completely different reasons. I was barrier for the first 2, once on Jason's side and the next on Mike's side. The first one really sticks out because it was my first time seeing them and nothing will ever replace that memory, plus we got Armatage Shanks played. The second is due to the interaction I got with Billie and getting Tre's drumstick. The third one I was seated so I got a full view of the stage and got the highlight of Green Day gatecrashing the stage during the Interrupters in fancy dress. Although the setlist was the same on them all (except for the added Armatage Shanks in Leeds) I had a completely different experience at all 3 and now I can't wait till July when I see them at Hyde Park and Glasgow. I would definitely recommend going to more if you are able to, if not you will always treasure the memories of the one you did go to :) On saying all of that though I think even if I had only been able to go to one I would still feel just as lucky and happy to have seen them once as well :)

I totally get the feeling of contentment of being lucky enough to see them once but for me that first GD experience was just overwhelming, I need a couple more gos to take it all in  I think even if it's the "same" show in terms of set lists there's just so much going on on stage to catch, especially if you get different spots like @jj0407 said. But I understand the fear for getting worked up and too ambitious too; my back's really bad, to the point where I'm not sure how to deal with a two hour flight in July, but the urge to see them is way stronger, and who knows when the next chance to see them will be.

Yep I agree with you I needed that extra couple of dates to just let it sink in. I'm still feeling the effects of all the travelling and queuing though (and dancing, jumping, singing...) and to be honest I'm actually a little bit terrified about Hyde Park as I'm going on my own and it will be the biggest show I've ever been to. I'm sure I'll love it but the size of it and being on my own does scare me. At least it will make Glasgow feel a lot smaller though

Yeah a gig the size of Hyde Park seems slightly daunting, what's the capacity there? I'm sure you'll have a great time though! Better live to tell the tale and say hi in Glasgow ;)

I believe its about 60000 at Hyde Park, I'm sure I will live haha. I'm going on my own to Glasgow as well so although I'll be on my own on my birthday I can't think of a better way to celebrate than watching Green Day  I'll definitely say hello if I see you :)

I never knew it was a "thing" to see Green Day , or any band, more than once on a tour until I joined GDC.  What a revelation and fabulous idea.

I saw them twice on the 21CB tour within a few days of each other. The second show was one of my all time favorites. It really is a totally different experience every time. It never gets old.

I saw them on the club tour in September and am now seeing them in March and August. Because my attachment issues with them have only grown stronger.

Before this week I had never gone to more than one show on a tour for anyone, but since I had been waiting for so long to see Green Day I wanted to make up for all the years I missed and now I've done it once, I'll definitely be making sure I go to see Green Day as many times as possible

I'm jelly of Europe for the amount of festivals they are getting.  You learn in OZ when  a favourite band/sporting team etc is here you better make the most of it.  They don't come around often due to our flight times/time zone crap.
