Only if you're not a fangirl yourself...and I am, so it would be awesome anyway! :D

It's even better when you turn your mother into a fangirl.

I hold that as one of my greatest achievements in life thus far.

And I must congratulate you! I'm working on my own mother at the moment, but it's difficult to influence someone set in their ways. Maybe I'll have more luck with my future children.

I can't watch Green Day videos anymore because I squeal.

Can't you control it? And besides, why weren't you squealing before? :P

I'm obsessed too....I have done lots of things...

Most recently, I went to a 24 hour store and demanded that they sell me each of the trilogy albums at 12.01am on the day of release...

I stopped a full on party in my own house to watch the premier of the Wake Me Up When September Ends music video, then restarted the party lol

I can't watch anything with Tre in it without getting extremely jealous of his current girlfriend :ermm:

I love Billie and I find him beautiful in every single era

Pretty much this. Even the scruffy Gilman punk version of him was adorable.

I believe it was out sometime mid-1995.

*still pondering writing out some of creepy/weird stuff I was doing age 12-15, but I'm afraid I'll inspire a lot of people :P*

I alwasy have, but now it's starting to annoy the parents because I'm "too old to fanboy."

Uhm I started wearing eyeliner cause I saw them do it?

I'm pretty sure I'm immune to fanboying. Like people are people and they're people that have made music that I like, but they're just people.

I will never hesitate to make fun of fanboys/fangirls outside of this thread.

[Edit:] Actually okay, maybe I obsess over their rarities and making sure I know every single song they've ever written that we know about a little too much. I guess that's kind of a hobby of mine.

Tell them it's not fanboying, just appreciating fine art. :P

Personally, I don't see Green Day as anything more than a group of very good musicians either. I obsess over their music and the members because it's fun. Do I have any 'emotional' attachments to them or their music? Slightly, nothing too extreme, though.

Exactly. My only obsession relative to them is with the music itself, I don't care about their personal lives. Like remember when people were getting all bothered cause they thought Billie looked too skinny when he took his shirt off at the musical? The fuck was up with that.

I have a HUGE emotional attachment to their music!

I'd say their music brings me a lot of happiness, which is what music should do anyway. I do defend them when people bad mouth them, but I don't think I ever take it too far, so I'd say I'm just emotionally attached enough, but not too much.

Same here. I'd say I'm very attached to their music and do really appreciate them as people, but I definitely draw the line somewhere. People can take obsessing over a band a little too far and then it just gets kinda weird, honestly. There comes a point when it's no longer "being a fan" and it becomes "unhealthily obsessed."

I personally think anything beyond "I like their music a lot and they're pretty cool too" is unhealthy.

Mm, maybe. I still think it depends on how far they take it. I mean, it's okay for people to think that band members are attractive for instance, and that takes it a little past "they're cool people" but it's still normal. But going to their concert and holding up a sign that says "BILLIE I WANT YOUR BABIES" is just weird as fuck and needs to not happen.

Also I feel like your sig is staring into my soul.

What does that mean, though? Sometimes I take a casual interest in their 'personal lives' as it were, because it's fun. It's really fun. I've read a handful of fanfictions, too, and for the most part I've enjoyed them. Like fromdecimateddreams said, unless you're posting embarrassing, lustful thing on their instagram, there isn't really a problem with doing those silly extra things.

I think there's nothing wrong with admiring the guys looks (I mean c'mon, they're hot) and maybe taking a casual interesting in their personal lives, but I do agree people who seriously want Billie's babies or want to know their address, or what they're up to at all times have an unhealthy obsession. I used to think I was bad with Muse and Matt Bellamy. And then I saw people on tumblr snuggling with pillows with his face on it and I was like 0_0 o..................k

I'm not saying that I'm obsessed with the band, but I do have a very strong emotional attachment to their music. Nothing wrong with that is there?
