Beerjeezus
Firstly, I'm usually bad at small talks and conversations with strangers, especially attractive strangers. I'm pretty shy around people I don't know well. If I had a good day, (or a few drinks in me) I might be able to talk to him but I'm not sure I would because I would feel bad about bothering him. I probably would just smile/wave or just say hi and play it cool and say something like "hey, your band's pretty cool". I'd feel bad about running up to someone and babbling. I'd only keep up with the conversation if he said something/seemed at least a little interested I might be more inclined to start a conversation if he were "at work". I probably wouldn't bother him in his free time. Also, there's no way I'd have the guts to ask for a photo haha.

I have a terrible stammer that comes out when I'm nervous too. I struggled last year with an actor I had wanted to meet and when I saw him again this year I was able to actually speak to him when I went for a photo op with him but when saying a pose (I had to pick one I chose a cuddle with him behind me) but what I ended up saying was 'can you take me from behind' so if I do actually manage to say something it definitely does not come out right hahaha I definitely wouldn't feel right asking for a photo randomly though. I think Billie would be lucky to get a smile, I'd probably run the other way then be kicking myself for the rest of my life haha

Partly, I'm sure most people would feel rather good about someone telling them they appreciate their work but the other part of me just doesn't want to act like just another creepy fan. Part of my issue is that even if I did get to talk to him (which wouldn't happen because my mouth would probably stop working), I wouldn't be able to properly express how important he/the band is to me. I'd be better off just handing him a note I wrote beforehand that said everything the way I wanted it, because if I spoke I know it would just be like "I've listened to you for a long time and you're great!" That's not adequate, lol.

Yeah that's what I worry about too. Luckily my slip up wasn't too bad, the guy ended up whispering in my ear 'no man could refuse that' lol so i think he knew it was more me being nervous. Some of the other actors I was totally fine with and actually had a laugh with though. I don't think I could randomly walk up to someone in the street and just ask for a picture though. I think if it was outside a show or at an actual meet and greet or something it would be different but I still don't think I could say more than hi. It's just that he's lived happily for years not knowing who Jane is and I'm not sure if I ever should force this knowledge on him. 6 minutes ago, jj0407 said: Yeah that's what I worry about too. He must have been amused Actually, my school is near a TV studio and I meet lots of actors/famous people (not anyone I care about unfortunately) on the street in that area but I just can't imagine stopping anyone of them - passing strangers, and talking to them. It would be so weird, like, how do you go about it??? It's most likely just that I'm not a fan so I don't have anything to say but still, it's unimaginable. Yeah I feel exactly the same way, he has no need to know who Jen is either He was definitely amused and I think he told one of the other actors as one of the other one's spent the rest of the time looking down my top and calling me 'sexy' or 'darling'. It was at a convention that I met them so they were there as part of their job. I have spoke to a couple of people randomly in the street but I'll be honest and say that at the time I didn't even realise who they were, they had started speaking to me. It wasn't until after they left I got asked by people if I had got an autograph and when I asked why I would they told me who it actually was hahaha worst thing is they were pretty famous people at the time It is definitely easier when you're not a fan as they are just another person, but when you are a fan its a whole different story. RedundantIdiot
I would love to meet the band, but I'd probably be so nervous! I'd want to get a picture with them, but I'd be so nervous to ask them for it. On another note, I'm loving the picture in the Instagram thread where it looks like Tre and Mike are dancing behind Billie as Billie sings! They looks so smiley! Hermione
It's obvs not the same as love you'd have for someone you know but I guess it's a form of it. Maybe respect/admiration/fondness is more accurate.

stories and songs
It's just a different form of love. Of course you can't love a stranger the way you love people in your actual life, but when an artist or actor or whoever has brought so much happiness into your life for a long time and is someone you really admire, it's fair to say you love them without sounding like a crazy person, I think. You don't love them as you do your family, but you still have lots of room in your heart for them.
Beerjeezus
For me, it is mostly just that I find him incredibly cool and adorable. He's made some wonderful music and I admire him for that. Fangirling is completely separate from this - the fact that I find him attractive is just a cherry on top. I'd never date a man like him irl anyway. It's not like love for a real person, it's more like seeing him as perfect. (The feelings are here 'cause what he does makes you happy)
stories and songs
It's funny you say that–I feel like my love for him has endured all my other celebrity crushes over the years because I've never seen him as perfect. I'm too paranoid for perfection, makes me suspicious! Hahaha.

I mean, I don't really care about reality/imperfections because I have no problem to accept his imperfections which is much easier to do when they're practically abstract. I never met him so they aren't real in the same sense he's not real as people in my life are. It's like Schroedinger's cat - he can be perfect and flawed at the same time until he somehow magically shows up in my house and I can tell. It's pretty much irrelevant as long as he's on the opposite side of this planet.
Teenage Lush
the love i have for green day is a very different kind of love than the way i love anyone or anything else. i don't really know how to explain it. their music has been the one thing there for me through so much, ever since i was a kid, and every time i see them it's like finally seeing my oldest and best friends again. i'm aware that makes me sound like a crazy person, i just don't care although there is definitely lust involved in how i feel about billie joe too
