Beerjeezus
Being the noob I am, I ended up at the first page of this thread and read the OP and the first page again. I have to say that I keep my fangirling to myself and very few people know how obsessed I actually am. The thing is, that girls learn to admire men (a fairy-tale prince is handsome, smart, strong and honorable. He's meant to be admired and the beautiful princess is smart enough to catch on this and marry him.) As the OP says, there's a stigma attached to fangirling even though girls are actually raised to do that. That's why fangirls not only swoon over their idols' bodies, but also over other things they seek for in men - their personal lives, families, qualities etc. It's nothing to be stigmatized or laughed at. Chin for a Day
I brought this to the right thread. OK, we have the hair, the dorky shirt, the faded hoodie, the funny face, the studded belt, the tattoo showing, what did I miss?

OK, we have the hair, the dorky shirt, the faded hoodie, the funny face, the studded belt, the tattoo showing, what did I miss? The necklace. It's good to see blonde Billie again. I was worried that his hair would be black again by the time we got another picture of him.
Laura!
I love it when its blonde with dark roots. It's been way too long since I've fangirled over Billie.
unextraordinarygirl
It's funny how on stage Billie seems so cool and in command and like a rockstar but in real life he's such a dork. LOL and I mean that in the nicest way. He's just adorkable and cute.
Beerjeezus
The girl is lucky. Imagine you travel such a long way and you're desperate enough to wait in front of Jingletown for someone to show up and that someone is Billie. I'm really happy for her. She really should've talked him into showing her around, though. It's funny how on stage Billie seems so cool and in command and like a rockstar but in real life he's such a dork. LOL and I mean that in the nicest way. He's just adorkable and cute. He seems very different. That's why I'd like to find out what his true personality is like. I don't mean it as a criticizm, but the rock star persona seems to be an act sometimes.

That is why I always found it funny that people question his ability to be an actor. I think he does it every time he steps on stage. Any stories you hear about him off stage (when he was not fucked up) he is humble, quiet and nervous. Alot of people have commented on how nice he is off stage, including Noel Gallagher and Iggy Pop. I think he is just really good at what he does and can turn it on in the right situation.

When performing in front of an audience, you are forced to do something because everyone is looking at you and you know they're expecting you to show what you can do. Most good performers seem very confident because that's what audiences like to see. Timid performers aren't so interesting to look at. Besides it's easier to behave condfidently when you're working under a bit of pressure. That's why he's good live but does worse in movies. I think all stage performers, whether in a live situation or not are acting to a degree. It is not the same as having to say specific lines, that I agree on, but you have to have the ability to perform in front of a large audience and say and do things you would not normally do otherwise. While Billie's stage persona probably does have elements of his real personality, I don't believe it is the way he normally behaves in every day life. But the same can be said of alot of actors. Many actors tend ot play similar types of characters because there are elements of their own personalities in that type of character. Personally, I think Billie's acting is a work in progress, but the potential for him to be good is there. He has the facial expressions and emotions down very well, he needs to work on the delivery of his lines, but that can just be practice. I am really excited to see Geezer because it is not that far out of his comfort zone and I think he can really nail it.

He can do any antics he wants. But yes, the core is the same. There needs to be something in your personality to do such crazy stuff though. Yes, live performances are more spontaneous, but you have to have a core that gives you the ability to do a live performance. And yes, there has to be something in your personality that allows you to do it, but I still don't think it is necessarily how you behave on a day to day basis. Mykee Mexx
Yeah I don't think his stage persona is an "act" as such, it's more just another side of his personality. In that different situation he naturally behaves differently. That´s what I think, too. And I also think, everyone of us behaves differently in different situations. Whether you´re with close friends, family, strangers, guests, colleagues, with grown-ups or children, making a speech or chatting here - you always "act" in the most appropriate way. Everyone has so to speak several different personalities, no one is just like this or that (that´s why I am very much fond of Johnny Depp, because he has this adorable range from light to dark). Being shy off stage IS part of the real person, and being an entertainer on stage IS part of the same person. Everybody has a certain range, more or less. And the ability to act also is a part of this personality. Though I agree, that acting in a concert is totally different than acting in a theatre play or in a movie. Because acting in a film really means to step out of your comfort zone, and really pretend to be somebody you are not. While on stage BJ is still who he is. Just another aspect of himself. I myself am a different person when I´m "acting" (well, it´s just amateur) on stage or presenting business issues in front of people. Different when I´m with my mother or close friends. But it´s still me.
